It's Outfit Day! My favorite! It's weirdly spring-like outside today, so I didn't have to wear socks. That makes me pretty happy. I wish I wasn't stuck inside at work all day though! Here's what I picked for this gorgeous fall day:
I'm so into all the plaid this season. I love that it's popping up in all different styles from dresses to button downs, to leggings... You name it, it's available in plaid!
Dress: Mimi Chica
This dress is almost gauze-y, it's so light weight. This awkward angle makes it look like it's tight across my chest, but it's not, promise! (That would be a shocker, nothing is ever tight on this chest!) I found this adorable dress in the juniors section at Marshalls and had to have it immediately. At 19.99, I couldn't tell me no.
Leggings: No brand
These are just your run-of-the-mill fleece lined leggings. I got them from some online discount site. They came in a pack of 8, all different colors. Super comfy! I firmly believe that for this type of item, you don't need to spend a lot on a name brand. Leggings are mostly leggings, as long as the material is decent.
Shoes: Charles Albert
I found these adorable flats on Zulilly right after I bought the dress. It was a no brainer that they were meant to be together. They're very comfortable, and were super inexpensive. I love the studs on the toes!
Arm Party!
Lefty:
Nothing new on lefty today. First is my KEEP Collective bracelet I got not too long ago, next is a stretch bracelet with a cute tassel from Express, and last is my trusty timepiece!
Righty:
Righty is rocking the gift bracelets today! The first one I did buy myself. It says my name, and I got it on Etsy a few years ago. It's SUPER delicate, so I don't wear it a lot. I want it to last! Next up is a rhinestone bangle from my mom. It's by Michael Kors if I remember correctly. And last is the leather and brass bracelet from my sister-in-law that you've seen a few times. It's one of my favorites, so you'll be seeing it again I'm certain! That one is by Rebecca Minkoff.
So that's what I'm wearing today! No riding outfit because I was rained out last night. Hopefully next week!
Do you have a favorite item from this week's look? What are you wearing? How's the weather?

Thursday's Threads
This is some kind of evil joke right? 24, feels like 18 degrees? Winter Weather Advisory for tomorrow? WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
On the bright side, I was finally able to wear one of the outfits I've been hoping to don for awhile now. I won't keep you in suspense, here it is:
I thought about wearing different pants... I have some purple coated denim pants that would look pretty cute with the sweater. But when put together with the accessories, it was a bit over the top. Even for me. So I went with black. Let's look closer!
Sweater: Lucy Paris
I actually went hunting for the sweater after I bought the belt you'll see below. I couldn't believe it was actually in existence, AND I was able to find it on sale. All wins in my book! I wound up getting this sweater from a little boutique in Brooklyn who happens to sell online as well. Lucky for me, since it's a one day shipping point! I'm completely obsessed with this oil slick look. I think it became trendy last year, but I just caught on.
Pants: Earl Jeans
I was sure you'd all seen these before, so I didn't take a picture, but then I couldn't find where I'd posted them... So I took this quick. They're just black skinny jeans with rhinestone embellished pockets.
Shoes: Steve Madden
Obviously once I found the sweater, I needed oil slick shoes too... You'd be surprised how hard it is to find such a thing. So when I stumbled across these beauties from Steve Madden, I HAD to have them. Problem was, they were super pricey, and mostly sold out in my size. Thankfully, ebay came through for me. I found them for $28.00 shipped. Miracles DO happen!
Belt: No brand
Ah... the belt that started it all! I found this belt at Marshall's when I was in FL in December. I then found a matching clutch at the Tory Burch outlet, but I didn't use it today. Why you ask? Because I was super late and didn't have time to find it. Story of my life! This is why you should plan ahead. Anyway, the belt is super fun, and has this oil slick/mermaid effect happening. From some angles it looks purple and others it's green. I love it so much! The Tory Burch clutch does the same thing, but it's saffiano leather rather than this snakeskin print. Sorry I can't show you today.
Jewels:
Necklace: Stacie Original
Sometimes I like to go on ebay, pick a search word, and find things that are under $5.00. It's a fun game. That's how I found these horse head pendants. In OIL SLICK finish! Lucky me! They came in a pack of three for $2.19. Shipped. Bargain! I had the two beads and the ball chain around and voila! New necklace to match my outfit.
Arm Candy:
Left:
More Stacie Originals here! The first is a faux leather bracelet with oils slick ceramic beads. The second is a leather bracelet with holographic beads. Not to brag.... But I love them! And you'll recognize my watch of course.
Right:
I put together the chain bracelet from a necklace I got from Deb. I like how it came out, very simple, but fun with that oil slick finish again. The middle bracelet I put together from a bunch of random beads I found laying around. The last one I actually did buy from my favorite online bead shop.
Mittens:
As luck would have it, while I was sorting through clearance one day at Marshalls, I found these convertible mittens that match my sweater. Can you believe it? I had no idea such a thing existed, and there they were for me to find! For $3.00! Yeah, obviously I didn't think twice about them. Sad I have to wear them on March 19th though...
That's what I'm wearing today! What are you wearing? Is it still sweater weather where you are? Opinions on the Oil Slick trend?

Thursday's Threads
I'm starting to think it always rains on Thursdays. Another gloomy day here in New England, but seriously, it was gorgeous out recently! It's not always gloom and doom here I swear. Anyway, it's about 45 degrees and rainy today. So that means no suede allowed! Here's what I picked out of the closet today:
That actually wasn't the top I had been planning on... I have lost the most gorgeous silk wrap around sweater ever. I know it has to be somewhere. I'm just hoping I didn't lose it at the dry cleaners without realizing it... Ugh. I shall hunt for it this weekend. Let's look closer at today's outfit:
Top: Philosophy
I got this one at Loehmann's before they went out of business last year. (They are back though in an online only format!) I love the sequins that are knit into the sweater. They're just flashy enough to add some fun to an otherwise very simple sweater. Confession: This came with shoulder pads!! Seriously! But I removed them. Much better. (Really, of all the things to bring back from the 80's, shoulder pads are NOT it!)
Pants: Kate Spade
I found these in the clearance section at Marshalls for $29.00. They were the only pair there, and just happened to be my size. Of course they had to come home with me! I love the Robin's Egg blue color, and they fit amazingly well. Thank you Kate Spade for understanding women have behinds! How cute is the little silver spade on the pocket?
Belt: Designer Inspired from Ebay
I chose a simple black leather Hermes inspired belt for today. I love these belts, they look good with everything!
Shoes: Sugar
If you've been reading the blog for awhile, you won't be surprised that i have shoes to perfectly match my sweater... They are black fabric with tiny black sequins knit right in. When I saw these, I knew they'd be perfect for dressing down my sparkly sweater.
Arm Party time!

WHOA! See that?! I'm not wearing old faithful today. Since my pants have a silver accent, I figured I should match my jewel tones too. The watch today is my A-Line that I found on Rue La La a few years ago. I really love this watch. It feels so sturdy on. The other two bracelets are from Little Black Bag. They are a stretchy metal mesh with matching rhinestone beads.
Right:
I honestly am not 100% sure where the pretty blue bracelets are from... I think possibly H&M or Forever 21. Hard to say for sure. The rhinestone one was from the Little Black Bag going out of business sale. It has a gorgeous matching necklace too, but sadly after hunting all morning for my missing sweater, I didn't have time to look for that too.
So that's what I'm wearing today! Do you have a favorite from today's ensemble? What are you wearing?

Thursday's Threads
Happy Thursday readers! It's a brisk autumn day here in New England, and I had the CUTEST outfit planned complete with my new, ridiculously expensive belt. Unfortunately, the sweater dress I was planning to wear turned out to be completely see-through and the belt needs one more hole punched in it... Of course I found all this out ten minutes before leaving for work soooo.... Well, I hope you're impressed with my ability to throw an outfit together in ten minutes or less!
Is it me, or does checkerboard NOT flatter? So cute though. I suppose you can't have it all. Let's take a closer look at the outfit!
Top: Express by way of Marshalls ($13.00 on clearance!)
It's a knit top, and what I love most is that the pattern is on the back also. It drives me batty when a top has some cute pattern on the front and nothing on the back. You are visible to people from the front AND the back. I think clothes should do their job all the way around.
Pants: Vigoss
I've had these forever. I have this dark pair and two other that are the same yet slightly lighter in color. They're really stretchy and comfy. Go to pants!
Boots: Tahari by way of DSW
This photo does NOTHING for these boots. Seriously. They are amazing. Butter-soft leather, stretch panel for the perfect hug-your-leg fit. Gold toned hardware. LOVE! What I love most? I got them this summer at DSW for 80% off. Yep, I paid $35.00 for these.

I found this stirrup bracelet on Etsy a couple of years ago. It's a very dark brown leather with a brass stirrup. Had I worn my original outfit it was the perfect compliment to my overpriced belt. Maybe next time! And you all know my trusty watch of course.
Right:
I got a little crazy today and mixed my metals! Gold tone on the left, silver on the right. First is a designer inspired bangle from ebay. Next is a stirrup bracelet from the Ralph Lauren outlet. Normally I'm not a fan of these toggle type latches and they almost always fall off somewhere. But this one has a huge stick, so I think it will stay put. the rest of the bracelet that you can't really see is black, braided leather.
So that's it for today! Not as fun as my original plan, but not bad all things considered! What are you wearing today?
