Thursday's Threads: The one with some bonus material

Outfit Day! I will admit that the usual suspects are repeat photos, but I do have two bonus (non riding) outfits to share because it's my birthday week and therefore I can. We'll save those for the end though. Shiny wanted to model for us this week, so here's what she wore today:

Bridle: Joseph Sterling

I dunno about you, but I'm getting pretty excited to have some more bridle variety on Thursday's Threads soon. For now though, this bridle photo is a little cuter than normal thanks to Cinch photobombing.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Mattes
Anyone else really sad about the Hufglocken/Mattes depairing? I've found a few other source, but nowhere with as good pricing. Thankfully, we're pretty well stocked for now. Especially given my shopping freeze. I do love these pads though! Worth whatever I have to pay in the future.

Boots: Premier Equine
We brought back the PEI boots for this last week at the boarding barn. Figured we might as well wrap up with a navy outfit. And I like these boots once the weather turns warmer since they're fairly lightweight.

That's what Shiny had on, and here's what I was wearing today:

But then actually, I had to wear a sweatshirt over this because it was a lot cooler than the weatherman promised. Oh well. What can you do?

Helmet: Samshield
I'm happy to report my face is nearly healed and I will do my best to share a fresh photo next week. Plus, I'll hopefully be wearing a different helmet. You know. For VARIETY!

Top: Luyaa
This is the Amazon knock off of the Lululemon shirts. It is also identical to the ones that TKEQ sells. Big fan.

Belt: Designer inspired
I scored this belt from Ebay many years ago. Still going strong!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
These are the color Charcoal. They look nearly black in real life. Kind of like what your black breeches eventually look like after you've had them awhile.

Boots and Half Chaps: HKM Killarney

Yes. Recycled. They still look the same though! Promise! Haha! I'm still liking these a lot and I think you'll probably see them some this summer too.

So that's what I rode in today. But here are some funny outfits I wanted to share also. First is my Birthday Outfit!

That's right. I wore a cupcake for my birthday. Both on my sweater AND on my belt! Been awhile since I've worn this sweater. It wasn't supposed to be a barn sweater back when I got it, but like... everything is barn clothes now! Haha!

Okay, and now this outfit below is what I'm wearing post riding today. (It warmed up!)

It makes me giggle because it is new. (Yes, I admit I bought some clothes recently. However, it was BEFORE the truck happened. So please, allow me some slack there.) Anyway, I stopped in at Kohl's a few weeks ago to update my wardrobe a little bit. And I found this super cute outfit that I was pretty excited for. And then I realized why it was calling to me. Guys. I've already owned this exact outfit. I wore this regularly my senior of college and the summer after. I mean, back then I think I bought it at Express. But now it's at Kohl's. And pretty much exactly the same. Also, am I maybe too old to wear these trendy things? Possibly. But I've never been accused of acting my age, so I'm going with it. Plus it covers all the things that need covering, so I think it's okay.

Alright. That's all I've got today. What do you think of the current trends? A lot of you are younger than me, so you might not remember them having already been around. But those that do recall, what do you think? Glad it's all back or should it have stayed in 2002?

Thursdays Threads: 80's rock edition

Outfit Day! Woohoo! I've been waiting forever for my 80's rock themed outfit day because I kept forgetting about it. Ha. Senility. It's happening. Anyway, we'll start with my riding outfit because google is taking its sweet time uploading today's photos.
So here's what I rode in last night on Monday:

I didn't realize this tank had the giant armholes so you could see my boring nude colored cami under it which was definitely not the look I'd have gone for... Thank goodness I ride alone in my backyard...

Helmet: One K
I had a tough time deciding which helmet and boots to wear. Originally I was thinking one of the Celeris pairs, but then it rained, and I decided to save those for another day. This glittery helmet totally works with the belt buckle though... You'll see.

Tank: Not sure on brand
I've had this awhile but never wore it, so I can't even remember where I got it. It could have been Forever 21, could have been Zulily. Hard to say for sure. I love the cassette print though! Do you guys even know what those are?!

Belt: Hot Topic
I actually got this from Poshmark second hand. I think it's amazing.

Breeches: Ariat
I don't like these breeches very much. I think I'm going to sell them. There's nothing really wrong with them, they're stretchy and pretty comfortable. But I dunno. I'm just not that into them.

Boots: TuffRider Regal Patent
I know you're all tired of them. But hopefully just a few more months and they'll be retired. Let's hope they make it.

So that's what I wore. But the horses got in on the fun too! Well maybe Pammon more so than Shiny, but she played too! We'll start with her:

Saddle Pad: Echt Lammfell
I was hoping to find a black pad with sheepskin or wool underneath that wasn't too expensive and this bad boy showed up on Ebay. I really like this one, the pad part isn't super thick or stiff and the sheepskin is nice and fluffy.

Bridle: I can't remember what brand this one is...
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
Maybe not the best shot, but yes, that's her spiked browband! I think I like the straight ones best. At least for her little (ish) head.

Boots: Punk Ponies
It's subtle, but these are black hologram. You can kind of see the rainbow reflection on the right side.

And here's Pammon's super fun outfit!

Baby Pad: handmade

I had to make that photo extra big so you could really appreciate all the cassette tapes on there! What's fun too, is there are so many options for half pad and boot colors to match! I went with black this time to keep it sort of punk, but I think it would be fun with purple (and the rainbow bit) too! This was made by a girl who closed up her online shop so I can't find the name of it anymore. But it's a great pad, I wish she was still in business. Probably I should just learn to use a sewing machine and make my own baby pads.

Bridle: Royal Sports
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
He was zero percent cooperative about taking a bridle photo... So you can see pretty much nothing here... He is also donning an awesome spiked browband.

Boots: Punk Ponies
This photo is a little better of the hologram effect. Although, funny story... Only one of his boots was hologram. The right one was just black patent. There was a booboo in the packaging I guess! Punk Ponies is out of them right now in the size he needs, but they are going to send me a new pair when they come back into stock. They are a wonderful company, if you ever need fun boots or saddle pads, definitely check them out. They're privately owned and really great to work with.

And here's what I wore to work today:

I really thought it would be way more fun with a neon green tank underneath, but I also thought maybe not so work appropriate... So I kept it toned down.

Top: Cabi
Back in the 80's Madonna used to love to mix lace with leather and black and whatever else. So I brought that back today. I went with a wide strapped tank underneath to try and keep it classy.

Belt: Express
I've had this belt since college! Before you applaud me for it still fitting, it used to be a little too big. And now it is not. But whatever. It's still awesome and is PERFECT with these jeans.

Jeans: Romeo & Juliet Couture
I felt like those big brass circles were kind of 80's rock like, no? These are cute jeans, I think the detail is super fun.

Shoes: Wild Diva
Why, yes, these ARE gold glitter jelly shoes! Thanks for noticing! Nothing says 80's like a sweet pair of plastic shoes. I imagine my feet will smell fab by the end of the day.

 Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is donning a little rhinestone bracelet, along with a rubber one that has a black pearl in the center. The pearl bracelet came from Zulily, and I think the other may have been from Express.

Righty:
Righty has my fitbit up first in a black metal bracelet, followed by a Kate Spade bangle and then two bracelets from Forever 21.

And that's it for this week! What do you think of the 80's rock theme? Did I pull it off?! What are you wearing today?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit Day everyone! I'm a little late getting this post up, but better late than never! We had a big wig corporate boss coming to visit today so I had to actually dress like a professional. The horror! You may want to turn the brightness down on your screen, my legs are out today... and they're pretty blinding.
No, I'm not wearing white stockings. #riderproblems

Dress: Modcloth
This isn't actually a branded Modcloth dress, but I can't read what the tag says so we'll just go with that. I bought this YEARS ago, but have only worn it a few times. It keeps getting lost in the bottom of the dry cleaning pile. So it gets worn every year or so when I finally get around to dry cleaning it. I love the hot pink accents on it. Brings a little excitement to an otherwise tame dress.

Cardigan: Express
About 100 or so years ago, Express was selling cashmere. It was a glorious time because it wasn't crazy expensive. This little cardigan was from my Mom for Chanukah that year. It's a little small if I were to try and close it, but it works great as a shrug. Bonus that the pink is almost exactly the same shade as the dress accents.

Shoes: Dolce Vita
This outfit is legit vintage now that I'm thinking about it! Everything is super old. Haha! These shoes are from Little Black Bag back before the merger that took its life. I'm embarrassed to admit, though I've had these for years, this is the first time I've worn them. Not sure why, they're amazing! So comfy, and full of cute details. I like that they're cute and sweet in the front and dangerous and spikey in the back. It's like a shoe mullet. But in a good way. Sorry about the blinding feet and legs folks. They very rarely see the sun. Obviously.

Arm Party!!!
Lefty:
Who knew I had so many items in this somewhat insane shade of pink?! I can't even remember where this bracelet came from, but I have a feeling it was the result of needing a few more dollars for free shipping somewhere. It's a little big, but works just fine behind the giant apple watch.

Righty:
I had so much fun dressing righty today! I chose one gray and one black snakeskin bangle to match the dress (both are vintage, I think 70's era Italian bracelets). Then I added a pink and gold elephant bracelet from Stella and Dot along with an orange leather and chain bracelet from Fornash to match the shoes. I love how righty ties the whole outfit together!

I have a riding outfit to share too! Remember when I said there was more than one pair of those crazy half chaps in my possession?? Well...
Here is pair number two! Turns out pair number 4 didn't get altered while it was away so those may have to move on to a new skinnier owner... Anyway, let's look closer at the outfit!

Polo shirt: Hollister
There's a Hollister outlet near me, and honestly I don't go in much. All the clothes are so tiny it makes me a little sad. But at some point I got this chocolate brown polo, and I do really love it. It's not cut like some of their other clothes, so it actually fits!

Belt: Ralph Lauren
It has a horseshoe buckle and so I had to own it.

Breeches: Annie's Equestrian
I really love the Annie's breeches. They're so soft and comfy. The colors are super fun too! If you haven't tried them yet, you're totally missing out.

Half Chaps: No brand
Paddock Boots: Ariat
Pair number two is a little bigger on top that the pair number 1. But they do stay put pretty well, so I have no complaints. They're so fun and different I can overlook the odd fit. At least for now. Once they break in, they may not stay put as well, but I'll cross that path when it's an issue. It's hard to see in this photo, but the purple background on here is actually metallic. It would be way too crazy if there was more of it, but I think it's subtle enough to be awesome.
Pardon my beat up old Ariat paddock boots. They are on their last days as the soles are coming off. I have a pair in reserve though, so fear not!

That's what I'm wearing today! Any favorites? What do you have on?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit DAY!!!!!!!!!! And it's hot out. Which means I got to wear a CUTE outfit! Granted it's all bundled up inside a warm fuzzy fleece jacket at my desk... but when I go out for lunch, cute outfit exposed! Ok, here, I'll show you:
Pastels today! Summer is my favorite because it's warm and sunny, but also because PASTELS!

Top: Express
I found this tank at Express a couple of years ago, and it's still going strong. Love me some minty lace!

Pants: Mavi
I didn't realize I had a hair stuck to my pants until I posted this photo... Sorry friends, I shed like a puppy. Anyway, these Mavi jeans are super comfy. I got them from Moxie.style in this pinky/peachy color and also in mint because I have no self control. These are ankle length, but I rolled them to accommodate my awesome sandals.

Awesome Sandals: No Brand
These were an ebay find and I LOVE them so much. The best feature is they have hooks so you don't have to actually deal with all those buckles all the time. Also, they match my purse pretty perfectly...

Purse: No Brand
Another ebay find. Ok, I saw the purse and then went hunting for matching shoes. Whatever, don't judge. I found them didn't I? This bag is gorgeous. It's very soft leather, and the studs are seemingly well attached.

Necklace: Kate Spade
I was all, "no I will not click the 30% off link to Kate Spade in that email there... NO I WON'T DO IT!" But then I did do it. And I found this unicorn necklace. Obviously when Kate Spade is selling a unicorn necklace that is wearing pink and mint, I have to buy it. No questions. It's everything I dreamed of and more. Expect to see a lot of it.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is wearing one of my favorites from Nicole's Creations. This one I bought from her store rather than getting in a subscription delivery. It's a little big, but works great behind my watch!

Righty:
That pretty gold bracelet looks a thousand times prettier in person. It's from Kate Spade also, and I got it along with Uni up there. It says On Purpose. I think this is supposed to be one of those motivational things, but I actually just think it's kind of funny. Whenever someone tells me they're having a baby, I always ask, "On purpose?" Because I like to know if I should be congratulating or reassuring... So this bracelet kind of seems perfect for me. Next up is a stretch bracelet from Little Black Bag, and then a designer inspired H bracelet from Ebay.

I also have a cute riding outfit to share. Sadly I didn't think to wear matching boots yesterday. It would have been way cuter with my distressed brown pair.
This is what I look like after riding and washing three horses. It's not pretty friends. It also doesn't smell very good.

Shirt: Ariat
This top is OLD. I love it though, and hope it sticks around awhile longer. Or maybe Ariat can bring them back and I can get some other colors? Can you Ariat? Pretty please?

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
You all know I'm cheap. So cheap that despite lusting after the green tailored sportsmans with the brown patches for YEARS, I refused to buy them until I could find them on sale. Unfortunately, I did not find them on sale. But I did cave and buy them. And I must say, they really are comfy. You really do get what you pay for.

Belt: Dior
This guy is vintage and came from Ebay. But it's legit and not inspired liked nearly everything I own. I love the stirrup and the simplicity of the plain leather belt.

Well... That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on? Have a favorite item from today? Want to talk about the weather? Let's chit chat in the comments!
