Thursday's Threads: May the 4th Edition

May 4th fell on a Monday this year, but that didn't stop Shiny and I from wearing our best Star Wars outfit for this week's Thursday's Threads! Here's what Shiny had on:

I've always loved the robots in Stars Wars (the droids if you will) so obviously Shiny is sporting her finest R2D2 outfit.

Bridle: Punk Ponies
Bonnet: Etsy
We haven't used our holo bridles in AGES! In fact, that last time Shiny wore hers was before she switched to her leather bit. So that's several years. Time to bust them out again, clearly! This bonnet is a little big on her because it's horse size. I'm pretty sure I got this set before I Shiny came here.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Le Mieux
Baby Pad: Etsy
I cannot for the life of me remember who the seller was I bought this set from. But I know she was on Etsy. It might have been Hopeful Equestrian, but I'm not confident on that.

Shiny didn't wear boots this day, so I don't have anything to share here. So I guess it's my turn!

I dressed like space.

Helmet: Samshield
Shiny helmet is a must for a Star Wars outfit on Shiny pony. Obviously.

Tee: Star Wars

I loved this opening scroll shirt when I saw it on Zulily a million years ago. Had to have it!

Belt: Buckle Down

Buckle Down makes the most fun belts! Fun fact, my brother was (is) a huge Star Wars fan. We even named our family dog Leah after Princess Leah.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I would have preferred black breeches for this outfit (these are charcoal) but sadly my black TS went to breeches heaven over the weekend. I should replace them before I can't... I do have a few other pairs of black breeches but none were the weight I wanted for this day.

Boots: Imperial Riding
Yes, I forgot to snap the top popper. Oops. Don't be distracted by such things, instead, enjoy how ridiculous these mirror boots are! I love these, and should definitely wear them more often!

That's it for today! What did you think? Did we pull off Star Wars Day?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! And we brought some fun color to today's post. Shiny is our model because I haven't worn these boots yet and she's least likely to take advantage of me in a fragile new boot state. #MVP

Here's what we had on:

Turquoise! It turns out I need to source some additional pieces for this outfit... like some kind of turquoise brow band and maybe something to do with the helmet. One K doesn't have turquoise inserts which is pretty lame. But I'm sure I can craft something for next time. So let's consider this outfit a work in progress.

We'll start with Shiny's outfit:
Do you guys notice how much better she's standing? She's not camped under herself anymore. Must have been tough to support that belly she used to have. She looks a lot more like a quarter horse these days than welsh.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow Band: Dark Jewel Designs
I figured the spike brow band was the best match for our turquoise look. Because it's pretty neutral as far as color goes.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Le Mieux
I do have a half pad with gray fleece that might have worked a little better here, but it's not shimmable so won't work for Shiny until she gets a better fitting saddle. But the natural ones looks fine too.

Boots: Punk Ponies
I thought I had silver boots for her, but turns out I only have horse sized in silver. So we went with the iridescent ones. They did the job.

So that's what Shiny is wearing this week, and here's what I had on:

The helmet definitely needs some turquoise. Next time.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS
I left the lavender inserts in out of laziness, but I do acknowledge it would have worked better if I just made it all gray.

Shirt: Luyaa
Finally back to short sleeves weather! Yay! You all know I like these tops a lot.

Belt: Mane Jane
My belt collection has become a jumbled mess (next rainy Monday project is to fix that) and while I would have preferred a gray belt with this look, I went with this one because it was accessible. The gray one is... hiding somewhere.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I've had these breeches awhile now, and they were such a find! Someone was selling them pretty cheaply on Marketplace and they are my favorite combo of mid rise, size zip, and boot sock. Best find!

Boots: Celeris UK
It's been years since I've designed any boots with Celeris which makes me really sad because I have a wish list. But I have been very lucky to score some samples the last few years. This pair wasn't a sample but rather a second. They had some kind of imperfection, but I've forgotten what it was and I don't really see anything glaringly wrong about them. They fit pretty perfectly though, so I'm happy! They're not my favorite design in that they zip inside and are reinforced. But I just loved the color so much I figured I'd cope. And they are fine! Definitely need more ride time because new boots are the worst, but the ankle is already softening up after one ride, so no complaints! Also, can you believe how exact the breeches color is to the boots? And the saddle pad is really close too. It's pretty impressive because it's easy to have shades like this not match at all. (Like the belt...)

This was a fun one! Even if I didn't take it too far this time. I'm sure the next time it comes around it will be turned up a notch.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! Shiny is going to be our model today because, well, she's adorable. And she's the cutest in pink. Here's what we had on:

You probably already saw what we wore since I may have used the same photo in yesterday's post...

Anyway.... Let's look closer!

I mean, honestly. Could she BE any cuter? Maybe in a few weeks when her dapples really come out... But still. Pretty adorable as is!

Bridle: Nunn Finer
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
Bit: Sweet Billy's mouth and Punk Ponies cheeks
Reins: Pink Nose Studio (Etsy)

I'm not a big fan of this bridle. It's stiff and the leather is meh. But we don't use the rainbow ones that much so I'll hang on to it for occasional use. Everything else is adorable though!

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Lettia
Sheepskin liner: Eskadron
Fun Fact: I bought this saddle pad years ago for Rio! I'm glad to be using it again, I was thisclose to selling it when I found the Eskadron pad to use with it. I'm really liking that thing!

Boots: Premier Equine
Why, yes! I did forget to snap a pic of Shiny's boots! But hey, here they are in action, doing their job. They don't sell this color anymore I don't think. Glad we snagged them when we did!

That's what Shiny had on this week, and here's what I wore:

I COULD have worn teal and purple but I haven't worn the pink boots in awhile so I had to go with pink and purple. 10 year old me would squeal with delight!

Helmet: Samshield
Listen, you can bemoan Samshield all day long. But this is one beautiful helmet. Do I wish they'd add MIPS? Yes. But will I stop wearing this helmet in the next four or so years? No.

Shirt: Chestnut Bay
A few years back, Horseloverz had these Chestnut Bay shirts on sale for $5. Not sure why they were so cheap and/or hadn't sold well as they're very nice shirts. A little too heavy for super hot days, but they aren't as heavy as a base layer. I like them! I got this one and a light blue one.

Belt: Mane Jane
I paired the pink belt strap with the rose gold buckle because all pink everything! I need to punch another hole in this one though, it stretched a bit.

Breeches: ROMFH
Awhile back, I decided I NEEDED the dark purple Tailored Sportsman breeches. But I couldn't find them in my size anywhere. So then I found ROMFH had this purple and went hunting for them. I was also late to that party and couldn't find them in my size. But I did find them in longs, so I got those. They're a bit too long, but I don't have to cuff them so totally wearable. Plus they were on clearance, so that's a big win.

Boots: Celeris UK
These are finally broken in and I love them even more now. I don't wear them all that often since they don't exactly go with everything... So it took a bit longer to get them broken in. I really just love Celeris boots. They're so high quality.

That's it for today! Any favorites? I have a few outfits I'm planning for the near future, just waiting on a few things to arrive... But in the meantime, any colors or patterns you're hoping to see?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! This week I modified Leah's request for the unicorn outfit. Instead of the shiny Celeris boots, I went with a pair you all haven't seen in ages! I know because I can't remember the last time I wore these... So we'll start with my outfit so you don't have to wait any longer for the reveal.

That's the face one makes when a car pulls in the driveway as I'm taking a photo of myself... Not awkward at all...

Helmet: Samshield
I have some strong opinions about Samshield and their refusal to add MIPS to their overpriced helmets... But this thing is gorgeous. #sorrynotsorry

Shirt: Stacie Original
I will love this shirt always and forever. Hope that doesn't come off too conceited since i made it... Lol! But my logo with a unicorn horn is one of my favorite things. Plus it's all shiny and stuff.

Belt: Standard Issue Equestrian

I don't own any of Standard Issue's horse wear, but I had to have the holo belt for obvious reasons. Looks perfect with the unicorn shirt, don't you think?!

Breeches: Ovation Aqua-X
I've had these awhile now, and would love to replace them with a size down, but they are very sadly discontinued. Boo. Why do they stop making everything that's decent?

Boots: Imperial Riding
These are probably the most ridiculous boots I own. And that's saying something since we're talking about me here. The only thing that might make them even more insane is if they were holo instead of just silver. But I love them as they are. They're actually very comfortable too. I think the footbed is memory foam. I hope someday they'll make some other ridiculous boots.

So that's what I wore this week! Eros is our model this week, and here's his outfit:

He sure does take his modeling career seriously, doesn't he? Look at him! So cute. I can't handle him.

Bridle: Royal
Browband: EvoEquine
Bit: Punk Ponies rings and Sweet Billy's mouth
Reins: Pink Noses Studio (Etsy)
I have to thank my noisy neighbor for this adorable photo of Eros giving his best blue steel. He wasn't into the closeup shot at all, until my neighbor made a huge commotion.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Lettia with some Cricut embellishment
Half Pad: Le Mieux
This half pad has shims in it so I don't have to ride up hill anymore. Definitely has made a good difference! I got him this black half pad for now, but also ordered him a shimmable one from Mattes in our colors. That one will be awhile though.

Boots: Punk Ponies
Holo boots complete the look, don't you think? Eros thinks so. And he's rarely wrong.

So that's what we're wearing today! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit day friends! We had some fun but didn't take it too far today... that's coming though. Summer's just getting started! Anyway... Here's what we wore today:

Also, both horses had their manes shortened and are looking slightly less feral.

Bridles:
Eros-Royal Equine, Shiny- I *think* this is a Nunn Finer.
Browbands:
Eros-Evoequine, Shiny- Dark Jewel Designs
Reins: Pink Noses Studio (Etsy)
Bits: Sweet Billy's Bits

These aren't their best quality bridles, but they do the job for occasional use. And they look pretty darn adorable in them!

Saddles:
Shiny- Custom Saddlery, Eros- Butet
Saddle Pads:
Shiny- Premier Equine, Eros- Smartpak embellished by me with an Ippico half pad, and an unbranded riser cover for a little lift.

I've always felt like Eros could use some rear shims as I ride a bit up hill on him. But I was always reluctant because I was afraid it would change the fit over his withers. After chatting with the Butet fitter when she came out for Al, I figured I'd see how a tiny lift might go. I found this old lollipop cover which gave me just the little lift I needed (it's empty!) and didn't alter the fit on his withers at all. He has a shimmable Mattes pad ordered so we can look a little more modern in the future.

Boots: Punk Ponies
It was a bit overcast for Eros' photo so it's hard to see, but these boots shift color depending on how you look at them. I was stupid excited when Punk Ponies debuted them and ordered immediately. Good thing I did as they have nearly sold out of them!

That's what the kiddos had on, and here's what I wore:

I love all the unicorn colors in this photo...

Helmet: Samshield
While I still wish Samshield cared enough to use MIPS, I very much love this helmet. The holo shield and rails is so, SO fun!

Shirt: Ariat
I really like the Ariat shirts for this in between weather we're having. It's comfortable out (high 60's) but too cool for a thin sun shirt. And definitely not warm enough for a tee shirt. It's hoodie weather if you're just hanging around, but a hoodie is WAY too hot if you're actually doing stuff. So these shirts are the perfect solution.

Belt: Made by ME!
Back during the height of the Pandemic, we were working off two week allotments at work. Which meant that we'd have one week of being insanely busy, and then have barely anything at all to do the second week. During one of those slow weeks I made this belt. You can tell my boss if you want, they already let me go ;) This belt has almost the same material as the horses' boots. This leans more purple/green though, and the boots are more purple/blue.  Close enough though!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
This color is called Dark Teal, and I really love them. I love them so much, I actually bought them NEW and paid retail. They have the sock bottoms, so you know I really loved them. So expensive. But I had sold a bunch of other breeches and thus, I felt I could validate the purchase.

Boots: Celeris UK
They're still gorgeous, aren't they?! I love these boots. I am VERY sad that they are considerably too loose in the legs now though. I'm going to see if I can get these and a few of the other pairs taken in at some point. I think that would be more cost effective than selling and replacing them. Plus, who knows if I'd have any luck selling them. And who wants to break in more new boots? Not me. In the meantime though, I'm just going to keep wearing them too big.

Other: Crop
I got this stick YEARS ago from the harness track tack store in Saratoga. I had forgotten all about it until recently. It matches quite nicely with all the unicorn stuff!

And that's it for today! Any favorites? Anything you're waiting to see? Any guesses as to what I might have up my sleeve for a crazy outfit? (Amanda, you can't answer that!)
