Outfit Day!! We kept it neutral today because I do love my barn colors outfits! Al is our model, and since I was trying to get Pivo back in our routine, I have a photo of us trotting to show off what we wore. Also Pivo worked perfectly for the test rides yesterday. I didn't jump so we'll have to see how that goes some other day. Still, I'm excited to get back to using it. Anyway, here is what Al and I had on yesterday:

Warm-up loose but slow trot

It looks like he was rolling his roller bit in that photo. Also yes, it was a dreary day yesterday. But it didn't rain!

I would have used our other bridle with the ribbon browband, but I have a hunch that Al prefers this bridle. So I didn't.

The usual set up. I'm really sad about our situation with our country's leadership for many, many reasons. But one of the more frivolous reasons is that Ogilvy pads are now 50% more expensive. Counting down the days until this era might be behind us. 

No boots today since we weren't jumping. Here's what I had on:

I really need to dust off my helmets... It's amazing there can be dust when it seems like it never stops raining. 

Tee: Brit.NY

I picked this cute tee up at Marshalls last year around St Patty's day. It says So Very Lucky by the collar with a little clover. It's my favorite color green, and the sentiment is true. 

Belt: Dapple Bay

They had a deal on these awhile back and I had bought one to try and fix a pair of jeans that weren't working for me (still haven't gotten around to that project) and got this one too. I think they were a bogo deal or something? Can't remember. I don't usually love elastic belts, but this one is really cute. 

Breeches: RJ Classics Gulf

You guys have seen these a bunch.

Boots: Horka

You've seen these a ton too. They are the most comfy of my brown boots, and I've been seeking out comfort this week.

Thursday's Threads: Storm Cloud Edition

 

Outfit Day! I chose this week's theme based on the weather. We're stuck in an unsettled weather pattern here in the northeast, and the sun hasn't been seen since Monday. Thus far, we've been lucky here and the severe weather has fizzled out before reaching our area. So it's just been a little dreary and drizzly. So how does one match an outfit to dreary weather you ask? Eeyore! Everyone's favorite sad donkey of course! Eros, who kind of resembled Eeyore when we first met him, was the obvious choice to model today. Here's what he had on:

Don't worry, you'll see better when we look at our tack more closely. And try to disregard that sad top line. We've been so inconsistent this year. It will come back!

I forgot to snap a photo of these pre-ride, so here they are all dirty afterwards. 

Okay, my turn! Here's what I had on:

I was planning to wear navy boots, but then they really weren't working with the shade of blue on the breeches. So went with gray instead. 

Helmet: Samshield

I recently learned that the five years maximum for a helmet actually starts at first wear rather than manufacture date, so I'm feeling even better about the great deal I got on this pretty helmet!

Tee shirt: Amazon

Awww, poor sad Eeyore. At least he's TRYING to look on the bright side.

Belt: Homemade by me

Still loving my interchangeable belt over here. I have some ideas for version 2.0, but haven't gotten around to attempting them yet. 

Breeches: Horse Pilot

I snagged these on sale some place a few years ago, and I really like them. I don't see them marked down very often though. 

Boots: Celeris UK

These weren't really the perfect match for today's outfit but they served the purpose well enough. They match public domain Eeyore (the OG) better than the Disney version. I guess I should have looked for OG Eeyore ribbons and shirts instead. Maybe another time!

Outfit Day!!! I was thinking I would do something summery like a bee theme this week, but then I realized I only had enough bee outfit for one horse. And I generally dress them all on theme. So I had to pivot. We went with green equestrian toile instead. Shiny is our model, and here's what she was wearing this week:

I think we're slowly starting to get a little topline back on her!

I was able to buy Dapplebay's fabric to make my own equestrian toile set rather than spending a gazillion dollars on three sets of expensive items. And I had enough to make browbands!

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy, embellished by me
Half Pad: Ovation

I think I like just the accents anyway, more so than a full pad of pattern. What do you guys think?

The other nice thing about fabric versus ribbon, is that I can cut the fabric to fit any size I need. When I use ribbon for our accents, I have to hope it's made in all the widths I need. 

That's what Shiny wore this week, and here's what I had on:

I do have the Dapplebay sunshirt in the toile print, but I got a long sleeve and it is not long sleeve weather here this week. (Up near 90 with super high humidity.) So I will save that for another week.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS with MIPS

The green on my helmet is a little different than the rest of the outfit, but it's close enough. Plus, any excuse to enjoy sparkles!

Shirt: Mathcat

The shirt, however, is EXACTLY the right shade! And I already had it in my closet. 

Belt: Homemade

I need to sit down and work on my next version of this interchangeable belt. It's working very well as is, but I'd like to step it up a little. Line it with leather maybe. Not sure exactly. But I think the initial testing of this version is complete, so it's time to improve it!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman

I think a nice neutral light tan color breech is perfect for this outfit. This color is called Fawn.

Boots: Celeris UK

Alright, I think you all know by now, I can't keep a secret. I wore these for the photos, but I didn't ride in them. I still haven't done anything to seal them, so they still bleed on to my tack. They're also a little snug at the moment... So I rode in a different, more comfortable pair. These match perfectly with the outfit though!

Thursday's Threads: Summer Party Edition

 

Outfit Day!!! Eros is getting his chance to model today, and I feel like he's the best one for the theme I've chosen. Which is Beer Pong! I don't think we've done this outfit in awhile, but it makes me giggle, so I'm happy to do it again finally. Here's what Eros had on:

All of the inconsistency we've been battling this summer after a long winter off has don't this horse's topline no favors. Ugh. Hopefully we're getting back on the right track and he'll be looking and feeling stronger soon.

He was full on cheesin' today. I think he was disappointed he missed out last week. I made this fun browband from a dog leash. Hard to see in this photo a little, but it's red solo cups and ping pong balls.

I had this made years ago. I don't love the pads from this company, but the print is perfection.

Hee hee. These are hilarious.

Okay, that's what Eros had on, and here's what I was wearing:

I love that I have red solo cup colored breeches. They only come out a few times a year, but they are the perfect shade for this theme!

I'm so thrilled I was able to snag this helmet for such a deal. Even if it is a little older, it was brand new, a closeout at a tack store. 

Shirt: Red Bubble (I think...)

It's so perfect that outfit day is on a Thursday. At least for this shirt.

Belt: C4

This is probably one of my most favorite C4 belts. Beer pong just makes me giggle. And a little nostalgic for my wilder (ish) days. 

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman

As mentioned earlier, these come out a few times a year. Namely Christmas and 4th of July. But also for the beer pong outfit!

Boots: Celeris UK

These were demo boots that I lucked into. They've been the hardest to break in but I think that's because they aren't my exact measurements. They are beautiful boots though!

I'm sure it comes as no surprise that this week we kept our outfit simple. I'm on day 6 of 13 hour barn days, and my creativity doesn't work in such circumstances. Shiny is our model this week, so we'll start with her since she's cuter. 

Right? Just the cutest.

I guess I should have used the ribbon browband bridle with this outfit. But this is the one I grabbed. It works though because spikes go with everything. 

Saddle: Butet

Baby Pad: Ogilvy

I'm always surprised that I like the tan pads on her. You wouldn't expect that to work. 

Boots: Uhlan

I'm really happy with these Uhlan boots. If we didn't have to pay tariffs on literally everything now I would get a dark brown pair. 

So that's what Shiny wore this week, and here's what I had on:

I didn't realize I wore almost this exact same outfit a couple months back for Thursday's Threads, but ya know what? I wear things repeatedly a lot just not for outfit day. So I guess I'm just keeping it real! 

Helmet: One K

This doesn't photograph all that well, but it is dark brown. 

Shirt: MatchCat

This shirt is so soft. Highly recommend.

Belt: Silver Star

This photo makes it look like I've gotten skinnier because the belt is on tighter holes. But that is a false narrative as I just switched to this more fun buckle that happens to be larger. 

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman

I really like this shade of tan. They are called "Fawn". They are a bit darker than show tan so don't show too many stains. 

Boots: Horka

I'm still really happy with these boots. They are far from the highest quality, but they're so comfortable! And so far they are holding up pretty well!
