Thursday's Threads: May the 4th Edition

May 4th fell on a Monday this year, but that didn't stop Shiny and I from wearing our best Star Wars outfit for this week's Thursday's Threads! Here's what Shiny had on:

I've always loved the robots in Stars Wars (the droids if you will) so obviously Shiny is sporting her finest R2D2 outfit.

Bridle: Punk Ponies
Bonnet: Etsy
We haven't used our holo bridles in AGES! In fact, that last time Shiny wore hers was before she switched to her leather bit. So that's several years. Time to bust them out again, clearly! This bonnet is a little big on her because it's horse size. I'm pretty sure I got this set before I Shiny came here.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Le Mieux
Baby Pad: Etsy
I cannot for the life of me remember who the seller was I bought this set from. But I know she was on Etsy. It might have been Hopeful Equestrian, but I'm not confident on that.

Shiny didn't wear boots this day, so I don't have anything to share here. So I guess it's my turn!

I dressed like space.

Helmet: Samshield
Shiny helmet is a must for a Star Wars outfit on Shiny pony. Obviously.

Tee: Star Wars

I loved this opening scroll shirt when I saw it on Zulily a million years ago. Had to have it!

Belt: Buckle Down

Buckle Down makes the most fun belts! Fun fact, my brother was (is) a huge Star Wars fan. We even named our family dog Leah after Princess Leah.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I would have preferred black breeches for this outfit (these are charcoal) but sadly my black TS went to breeches heaven over the weekend. I should replace them before I can't... I do have a few other pairs of black breeches but none were the weight I wanted for this day.

Boots: Imperial Riding
Yes, I forgot to snap the top popper. Oops. Don't be distracted by such things, instead, enjoy how ridiculous these mirror boots are! I love these, and should definitely wear them more often!

That's it for today! What did you think? Did we pull off Star Wars Day?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! On my birthday! I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't plan a birthday themed outfit, but I will try to remember for next year. Instead, we went with our old standby farm colors today. Al is our model, and here's what he's wearing this week:

I swear, in real life his weight looks pretty good, but in photos he's looking quite thick... No judegement though. I look thick in both scenarios. Haha!

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
Hat: Back on Track
He's awfully cute. Especially with his thinking cap on!

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Mattes
I must confess that I am very overdue for a good saddle cleaning. Sorry saddle.

He didn't wear boots for this ride, so nothing to share there!

Here's what I had on:
Keeping it casual over here this week! This oufit feels a little 90's era to me, what do you think?

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS
You know I keep it real over here based on the extreme dust level on that brim...

Sweater: Sonoma
I picked this up sometime last year from Kohl's on a clearance rack. It's the perfect weight for this time of year when the temps go up and down every 20 minutes.

Belt: The Sugar Lady
Rio's been on my mind since his birthday just passed last week. So I wore his belt today. It's absolutely one of my most favorite things.

Breeches: RJ Classics
Snagged these over the winter at a (very chilly) tent sale. My brown TS have given up so it was perfect timing!

Boots: TuffRider Regal, embellished by me
I don't wear these a ton because I'm so worried about messing up the glitter paint. But then I had the realization that I can always re do them. So I'm using more frequently. They're so fun!

And that's it for today! Not a wild outfit, but a nice one all the same. With just enough bling to keep it fun!

What should I wear next week? Or more importantly, what should the horses wear??

Thursday's Threads

We've had some really silly outfits the last couple of weeks, so for today, we dialed it back. Shiny is our model, and here is what she had on this week:

I put a little weight on her this winter, because I really didn't like her ultra svelte physique from last summer. I know the vets were happy, but she just looked a little too lean to me. I think she looks perfect right now though. Well. A little under muscled, but that will come with work.

Bridle: Pinnacle
She really likes when I don't make her wear a bit. But she has to sometimes. It's the rules. Not today though!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Stephens
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
Some day I'll get her a green Mattes half pad. But today is not that day. This one does the job for her just fine!

I have been a little lazy with the leg wear, so she doesn't have boots on. But she did wear our brown Busse ones yesterday when we popped over a couple crossrails.

So that's what she wore today, and here's what I had on:

Kept it pretty boring today! But I kinda like it. Very earthy.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS

I'm so glad I found this sparkly front shield at Equine Affair in the fall. It's made this helmet significantly more fun!

Shirt: FitEq
These tees are a wee bit smaller than I remember them being before winter... But you know, still works!

Belt: Silver Star
I forget where I found this belt, but I know I was really excited that it was my farm colors. I swapped out the boring buckle it came with for this fancy horseshoe one. Which makes it look like I've lost several inches, but really it's just a much larger buckle. It will be our secret.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I haven't tried to stuff myself into any of my size 26 yet, but at least the size 28 still fit! This color is called Fawn, and it is different than the show tan ones. You all know I love all the shades of tan and brown. Even the weird ones. But this one is pretty tame.

Boots: La Mundial
I was really wishing I had a nice green pair of Celeris. Well I do, but those are lime green and not what I was going for here. Then I remembered these and they worked nicely for today's outfit.

And that's it! Any favorites from today? Suggestions for next week? I think I know what we're going to wear, but I'm not positive yet.

Thursday's Threads: Passover Edition

Outfit day!!! AND it's a holiday, so you know we have something ridiculous today. I originally wanted to have Al model today, but since things were a little hectic around here recently I opted for a slightly more reliable ride option. So it's Eros today! Here's what he had on:

I know. From afar it looks quite tame. But don't worry. It gets better.

Bridle: Jopseph Sterling
Brow band: Dark Jewel Designs

I need to make a Matzo brow band I think. Perhaps next year we will revamp this outfit a bit.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Equine Star
Half Pad: Mattes
My brown half pad isn't shimmable so we had to go with the black one. I think a natural or white one would be fun though because it would like matzo and cream cheese.

Boots: Equine Star

These just kill me. They really look like Matzo! And the fluff here does look like cream cheese!

That's what Eros was wearing this week, and here's what I had on:

Hahahaha! Matzo leggings! I told you. It's a lot.

Helmet: One K
I went with the brown One K for this outfit. Not sure any particular helmet really give matzo vibes.

Sweatshirt: Menucha Co
I like that this has matzo details rather than all over print. Works better with the rest of the outfit.

Leggings: Modern Tribe

You know what's worse than riding leggings? Riding in regular leggings. I mean, they were fine for one day. But I had to tie up the waist to try and keep them in place and they were quite thin feeling. But it was fun for today because look at them! Hahaha!

Boots: Horka
It's been kind of rainy so brown distressed boots were the best choice for sure.

So that's it for today! Matzo! Happy Passover!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We aren't getting too all in on outfits just yet thanks to all the mud required layers to stay warm... But we're getting there! Today's model is Shiny, and here's what she's wearing:

She's the cutest.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow band: Dark Jewel Designs
Guess I should have shot this from the other side, I didn't realize it came out so dark! But anyway, this is our bitless bridle from Pinnacle that I really like. I've had a few over the years, and this is my favorite.

Saddle:Butet
Saddle Pad: Smartpak
Half Pad: Stephens
I forgot I had these Smartkpak saddle pads, but I'm glad I rediscovered them because I like them a lot! They are kind of a baby pad hybrid. A little more structured that a regular baby pad, but not bulky like a saddle pad. This half pad was Pammon's, and the quilt barn is green. I only have two green mattes half pads, so this one is serving that purpose for Shiny. It's a hair big for this saddle, but good enough. She isn't wearing boots today because mud.

Here's what I wore this week:
Yeah, it's still been chilly. But today might get to 60 so I'm pretty excited for that! Despite the cold, I'm trying to help spring along with some  pastels today. I thought about wearing the mint colored boots, but they aren't mud friendly so I went with these older ones instead. Still pastel adjacent!

Helmet: One K
I had meant to pop some lavender accents into this helmet, but I forgot apparently. So it's just gray. But it matches my boots anyway!

Sweater: J Crew
Vest: Eddie Bauer
At the end of last winter I replaced my old black Eddie Bauer vest with this new one. The old one was probably ten years old. The pockets were all torn, it had a few small holes, and the zipper was only a few wears away from quitting completely. So it was time. And I'm glad I did it because Eddie Bauer is going out of business. I popped over to their nearby outlet the other day to try and snag some deals, but the deals weren't impressive so I didn't get anything. Aren't you proud of me?!

Belt: C4
Fun fact, I had a dr's appointment in the morning, so I when I chose my outfit I picked the lightest items I could find that were still appropriate for the weather. C4 belts weigh much less than a leather belt, so it had to be one of those!

Breeches: RJ Classics
Most of the newer breeches are VERY light weight, but they aren't warm enough when it's not even 40 degrees out. (Which is a big complaint of mine. I think breeches manufacturers are only catering to people who go to warm climates these days. Winter breeches exist yes, but mostly they are all full seat and tights. Neither of which are what I want.) But I digress, I chose these RJ's today for their light weight but still warm enough fabric.

Boots: Celeris UK

I left a little dirt on the heel to keep this real... Haha! This is actually the second pair of Celeris boots I ever ordered. They'll be seven years old this year, and are still going strong! My first pair which is about six months older than these are ready for a new zipper and for some stitching repairs, but otherwise still in good shape too. I am really impressed with the quality from this brand. I wear these a lot, so they really are durable.

That's it for this week! Any colors or themes you're excited to see soon? Now that it's getting nice out I'm excited to have some fun with outfits again.
