Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! I planned ahead this week and got photos on Tuesday. Which was good because we haven't ridden since and I don't think we're riding today either. It's so smokey out! Eros should have been our model today, but I forgot to take pics before I rode him, plus this week's outfit isn't really his colors anyway. So Shiny modeled instead. Here's what she had on:

She looks adorable in every color.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
My new helper had quite a few things already on her calendar when she started here, and Tuesday was one of the days that she needed off. I had a few distractions whilst doing chores (someone drove off the road onto my property but thankfully they were okay and no real damage) and had several loads of horse laundry to get done that day too. So it was getting late. I decided to ride everyone in side pulls so we could do a short Tuesday ride, then have some grass mounted, and finish with their showers. It saved me about 15 per horse to graze during our ride rather than post bath.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Ovation
Saddle Pad: Weatherbeeta

I had gotten this saddle pad in the Forelock and Fringe box awhile back. I opted to use it on Shiny this week instead of one of the horses, but it doesn't fit this saddle at all. So next time I'll let her use the Ogilvy we have in this color and one of the boys can use this one. This Ovation half pad I was trying to sell forever because it was too small for Shiny's old saddle. But it fits great with this one, so now I'll keep it.

Shiny didn't wear boots this week since it was an easy flat day. So it's my turn! Here's what I had on:

If Eros had modeled like he was meant to, my saddle pad would have had silver trim, hence my teal and gray look today.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS
It makes me a little sad that they don't have teal inserts for the OneK. Weird omission, don't you think? It's a popular color.

Shirt: Zengjo
I found this mesh top on Amazon last year and bought it in three colors. I keep trying to find other mesh shirts on there because I think they're cooler, but so far this is the only one. The equestrian brand ones are just too expensive for my liking.

Belt: Mane Jane
I'm so glad Mane Jane brought the belts back! This is an old one, the new ones are just plain leather. I did love all the options they used to have!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I snagged these gray breeches on Marketplace a couple weeks ago along with a charcoal pair. This pair though is pretty stretched out so they are a little big on me. That's a risk you take when buying used! Better too loose than too tight though, right?? They're in good shape otherwise. No holes or loose stitching anywhere.

Boots: Celeris UK
This was my second pair of Celeris that I ever ordered. Which makes them about seven years old now. Pretty good run! They're still in great shape, just the snaps get sticky so I leave them undone most of the time.

And that's it for today! Any favorites? What are you waiting to see?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We stuck with barn colors more or less this week, but we did the slightly more fun version. Al is our model today, and here is what he had on:

It was windy today, so his attention was on the moving trees. Because moving trees are demons. Obviously. Must be watched at all times. For safety.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
His ears look oddly large from this angle. He actually has fairly small ears due to staying a stallion for so long. Still looks cute though!

Saddle: Butet
Half pad: Mattes
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
This is the slightly more fun part, but now I see you can't really tell. The binding on this pad is metallic gold rather than tan. But it didn't photograph all that well... You'll just have to trust me.

That's it for Al's outfit. He didn't wear boots since we're mostly just tack walking this week. So now it's my turn! Here's what I had on:

Rocking the poop colors this week!

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS
Heh... Yeah, I know I look tired. But look how pretty the sparkles on my helmet are!

Shirt: Lauria Garelli
I still get the Forelock and Fringe subscription. It's my guilty pleasure. This top came in a recent box and I love it! It's a nice weight and I love a chocolate brown.

Belt: Tory Burch
This buckle doesn't look quite so scratched up in real life. Thankfully! I've had it a long time though, so it's earned all of its scratches!

Breeches: RJ Classics
I love this weird shade of tan so much! They remind me of a pair of breeches I had as a kid. My second pair in fact. (The first pair I had was gray.) Ah nostalgia!

Boots: Horka
We did photos yesterday when it was still fairly muddy so I went with the brown distressed boots. They're the obvious choice for muddy days.

And that's it for this week! I know better than to get excited or say these things out loud. But there is a chance that things will get back to more normal next week. My new helper is doing a good job and I think she's about ready to work on her own starting next week. So maybe I'll have the mental capacity to do a fun outfit. We shall see.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We kept it a little boring this week because I didn't have the energy to get creative. It happens! But it's a nice enough outfit all the same. Eros was our model this week. We did photos on Tuesday when the weather was nice, because we knew today was going to be very wet. (And it is!) Anyway, here's what Eros is wearing this week:

Since it was a flat day we didn't have any wraps on. I've been mostly just booting for jump days this spring and the horses seem just fine with this. Also, I really need to fix their manes. He looks like a feral horse. Lastly, I struggle with getting him to the proper weight. I think he looks pretty good here, but he's a little ribby. Put weight on, and boom: Dad Bod. Can't win.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow Band: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

It's a little hard to see in this photo, but I'm really impressed with the Boy O'Boy browbands. I've had these I think seven years now, and they still look brand new. He's also wearing a the Catago poll wrap. It seems to relax him. I mean, clearly. He's asleep in this photo!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Baby Pad:Ogilvy
I like him in tan. It suits him nicely, compliments his red hair.

And here's what I wore Tuesday:
Same color scheme! We do enjoy our matchy farm colors.

Helmet: One K
This is the brown one I have. It's not a MIPS because they don't make a brown MIPS helmet which I find truly annoying.

Shirt: MathCat
I am a big fan of these shirts from Amazon. They're a nice weight for the spring and fall.

Belt: Ponylocks
I picked Jampie's belt for today's outfit. I haven't worn it in a bit!

Breeches: RJ Classics
I think RJ's green is my favorite shade.

Boots: Horka
I regularly forget I have these, but they are SO comfy. I really should wear them more often. The only negative is that they are a teeny bit too loose in the leg, so when I'm working very hard (ahem... on AL especially) they kind of slide down and bunch up on the ankle. But that's really a training problem, not a boot problem.

That's it for today! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We aren't getting too all in on outfits just yet thanks to all the mud required layers to stay warm... But we're getting there! Today's model is Shiny, and here's what she's wearing:

She's the cutest.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow band: Dark Jewel Designs
Guess I should have shot this from the other side, I didn't realize it came out so dark! But anyway, this is our bitless bridle from Pinnacle that I really like. I've had a few over the years, and this is my favorite.

Saddle:Butet
Saddle Pad: Smartpak
Half Pad: Stephens
I forgot I had these Smartkpak saddle pads, but I'm glad I rediscovered them because I like them a lot! They are kind of a baby pad hybrid. A little more structured that a regular baby pad, but not bulky like a saddle pad. This half pad was Pammon's, and the quilt barn is green. I only have two green mattes half pads, so this one is serving that purpose for Shiny. It's a hair big for this saddle, but good enough. She isn't wearing boots today because mud.

Here's what I wore this week:
Yeah, it's still been chilly. But today might get to 60 so I'm pretty excited for that! Despite the cold, I'm trying to help spring along with some  pastels today. I thought about wearing the mint colored boots, but they aren't mud friendly so I went with these older ones instead. Still pastel adjacent!

Helmet: One K
I had meant to pop some lavender accents into this helmet, but I forgot apparently. So it's just gray. But it matches my boots anyway!

Sweater: J Crew
Vest: Eddie Bauer
At the end of last winter I replaced my old black Eddie Bauer vest with this new one. The old one was probably ten years old. The pockets were all torn, it had a few small holes, and the zipper was only a few wears away from quitting completely. So it was time. And I'm glad I did it because Eddie Bauer is going out of business. I popped over to their nearby outlet the other day to try and snag some deals, but the deals weren't impressive so I didn't get anything. Aren't you proud of me?!

Belt: C4
Fun fact, I had a dr's appointment in the morning, so I when I chose my outfit I picked the lightest items I could find that were still appropriate for the weather. C4 belts weigh much less than a leather belt, so it had to be one of those!

Breeches: RJ Classics
Most of the newer breeches are VERY light weight, but they aren't warm enough when it's not even 40 degrees out. (Which is a big complaint of mine. I think breeches manufacturers are only catering to people who go to warm climates these days. Winter breeches exist yes, but mostly they are all full seat and tights. Neither of which are what I want.) But I digress, I chose these RJ's today for their light weight but still warm enough fabric.

Boots: Celeris UK

I left a little dirt on the heel to keep this real... Haha! This is actually the second pair of Celeris boots I ever ordered. They'll be seven years old this year, and are still going strong! My first pair which is about six months older than these are ready for a new zipper and for some stitching repairs, but otherwise still in good shape too. I am really impressed with the quality from this brand. I wear these a lot, so they really are durable.

That's it for this week! Any colors or themes you're excited to see soon? Now that it's getting nice out I'm excited to have some fun with outfits again.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! AND I have a RIDING outfit today! It's not a crazy exciting one, cause you know, mud everywhere. But still. I HAVE BREECHES ON! And my new helmet that I bought two months ago. But first... Here's what Eros wore this week:

They've all lost a ton of muscle so we have a lot of work to do. But his weight isn't too bad for all that time off. And I can see his summer coat coming in! Pretty shiny too considering we haven't done our first baths yet.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
I'm still really happy with these bridles. They aren't the softest most luxurious, but for the price point they are really holding up beautifully. And the horses like them which is most important.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
Oh how I've missed sitting in this! I was very happy to discover my saddles to be mold free after I've ignored them for several months. I did dedicate a day to cleaning and conditioning them at some point during our hiatus. But I haven't looked at them since.

I don't have a wrap photo today because we go bare legged in muddy conditions.

Okay, my turn!!

Man it feels good to wear breeches again.

Helmet: Samshield
Look at this glossy bad boy! It's so shiny you can see my phone taking the photo. They had a navy one too that I was hoping I could get soon, but looks like it's since sold. Bummer.

Sweater:THML
You've all seen this sweater before. It's one of my favorites!

Belt: Mane Jane
Good news if you ever wanted one of these Mane Jane belts but never got around to getting one. They've brought them back! I love them so much, 10/10 highly recommend.

Breeches:RJ Classics
You might remember that my TS brown breeches met a possibly embarrassing demise during a vet appointment last summer. I was planning to replace them with another pair of TS but hadn't gotten around to it. Back in December I went to a tent sale at my closest tack store and they had these RJ's for under $100 so I got them instead. I was worried they might not fit after this very long winter, but they're good! (Phew.)

Half Chaps and Paddock Boots: HKM
I like how these half chaps attach to the boots rather than having that bulky bottom with the elastic under your foot. Especially during mud season! They aren't the most durable but they're also not very expensive, so my expectations are low for them. They're very comfortable and I think very attractive, so I do recommend them, even if they might not live forever. I absolutely would buy them again.

And that's it for today! Any favorite items from today? How about that glossy helmet?!
