Outfit Day! Shiny is going to be our model today because, well, she's adorable. And she's the cutest in pink. Here's what we had on:

You probably already saw what we wore since I may have used the same photo in yesterday's post...

Anyway.... Let's look closer!

I mean, honestly. Could she BE any cuter? Maybe in a few weeks when her dapples really come out... But still. Pretty adorable as is!

Bridle: Nunn Finer
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
Bit: Sweet Billy's mouth and Punk Ponies cheeks
Reins: Pink Nose Studio (Etsy)

I'm not a big fan of this bridle. It's stiff and the leather is meh. But we don't use the rainbow ones that much so I'll hang on to it for occasional use. Everything else is adorable though!

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Lettia
Sheepskin liner: Eskadron

Fun Fact: I bought this saddle pad years ago for Rio! I'm glad to be using it again, I was thisclose to selling it when I found the Eskadron pad to use with it. I'm really liking that thing!

Boots: Premier Equine

Why, yes! I did forget to snap a pic of Shiny's boots! But hey, here they are in action, doing their job. They don't sell this color anymore I don't think. Glad we snagged them when we did!

That's what Shiny had on this week, and here's what I wore:

I COULD have worn teal and purple but I haven't worn the pink boots in awhile so I had to go with pink and purple. 10 year old me would squeal with delight!

Helmet: Samshield

Listen, you can bemoan Samshield all day long. But this is one beautiful helmet. Do I wish they'd add MIPS? Yes. But will I stop wearing this helmet in the next four or so years? No.

Shirt: Chestnut Bay

A few years back, Horseloverz had these Chestnut Bay shirts on sale for $5. Not sure why they were so cheap and/or hadn't sold well as they're very nice shirts. A little too heavy for super hot days, but they aren't as heavy as a base layer. I like them! I got this one and a light blue one. 

Belt: Mane Jane

I paired the pink belt strap with the rose gold buckle because all pink everything! I need to punch another hole in this one though, it stretched a bit. 

Breeches: ROMFH

Awhile back, I decided I NEEDED the dark purple Tailored Sportsman breeches. But I couldn't find them in my size anywhere. So then I found ROMFH had this purple and went hunting for them. I was also late to that party and couldn't find them in my size. But I did find them in longs, so I got those. They're a bit too long, but I don't have to cuff them so totally wearable. Plus they were on clearance, so that's a big win. 

Boots: Celeris UK

These are finally broken in and I love them even more now. I don't wear them all that often since they don't exactly go with everything... So it took a bit longer to get them broken in. I really just love Celeris boots. They're so high quality.

Thursday's Threads

 

None of my new outfits were ready for outfit day this week, which was annoying. But I came up with an outfit that eight year old me would be proud of. (Eight year old me is having a lot of fun dressing me lately.) We can start with what the horses wore. 

Well, I mean, in all fairness, I take my outfit photos on Wednesdays, and, according to Mean Girls, we are supposed to wear pink on Wednesdays so... Here we are. Despite Eros being a loose horse in his photo, he still has that huge reach with his shoulder, doesn't he? We just started cantering again, so I haven't yet asked him to come together. Still cute! Shiny has decent reach through her shoulder too. I really think her canter has improved a lot since last year. 

Bridles:

Shiny was not having her photo taken this week. She's REAL grumpy about the last flies that are still hanging around. Eros was happy to oblige at least.  These are the same bridles as last week, but Shiny's rainbow leather bit came back, so she's fully put together now!

Boots: Both horses are wearing Premier Equine boots

Shiny sized open front boots are the cutest things on the planet. Seriously. 

Saddles & Pads:

Shiny- Custom Saddlery, Premier Equine pad

I've had that Lettia pad for awhile but apparently had never used it. Guess we need to wear purple more often! I'm a big fan of the Premier Equine pads with the half pad built in. I just wish they were better with colors. The all green one they finally made has orange piping. I bought it anyway, and pretend that it's tan... but still. All green would have been better. Or green with tan but that might be my own personal preference only... Or green with brown... or even with navy. So many better options than orange! But I digress. This one is their old style, and not available any longer, but I do like this combo of green and purple.

Okay, my turn! Here's what I wore:

I mean, lots of colors look nice with purple. But pink and purple is iconic (if you're a child anyway). 

Helmet: One K CCS Mips

I don't have a helmet in either of the colors in my outfit, so I went with the rose gold and black one. I think it works just fine.

Shirt: Equetech

I used to be really big into subscription boxes when I had more expendable income. But I've canceled most of them at this point. I do however still get one from a UK based company called Forelock and Fringe. I've kept this one as they have introduced me to some brands (and amazing snacks!) that I would not have discovered otherwise. This top was in one of their boxes, and I like it so much more than I expected to! It's base layer weight, which is perfect for fall here (or spring). The fabric is lovely and I like the fit too. 

Belt: Guess

I actually think I was still in college when I got this belt. It's THAT old. It's in great shape though, and I love the color and the star print.

Breeches: ROMFH

I missed out on a pair of used purple TS breeches awhile back and got a little obsessive trying to find purple breeches. I couldn't find these ROMFH ones in my size either, but I did find them in long, so that's what I wound up with. Are they too long for me given I'm 5'2"? Obviously. But I don't have to cuff them, so I'm saying they work fine.

Boots: Celeris UK

This pair actually fits a little better than some of the others. I think because I didn't wear them as much when I first got them and was heavier. Thus, I didn't stretch them out as much? I dunno. Whatever the reason, they aren't as big as the others. This pair broke in really fast, and are SUPER comfy.

Outfit day is late! So sorry! But it's still Thursday, so we're good! I'll jump right to it though, so as not to waste any more time...

Here's what the ponies wore this week:

They mostly wore green, and we busted out the hats!

Bridles: Eros- Camelot RCS gold, Shiny QHP
Browbands: Eros- Boy O'Boy Bridleworks, Shiny- Dark Jewel Designs
Bonnets: If the bonnet fits

They wore different bridles today because Shiny's one like Eros' doesn't have a bit she likes on it, and I'm too lazy to switch it at the moment. They both work with the theme though! Just a note, Eros' bit is a hybrid. I originally got this gold two ring made by Punk Ponies, but I wanted it in leather instead. Sweet Billy's is able to convert them though! So if you have a cheek you really like, they can turn it into a leather bit for you. Like if you have one of those unicorn rainbow bits for example.

The Punk Pony boots really do fit Shiny the best. I'm still kind of meh on the ES boots though.

It's not just green! Nor is it Winthrop Corner logos! Yay me! Hahaha!

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS wide brim

I'm not sure why this helmet looks absolutely enormous in this photo... I swear it looks mostly normal in real life.

Shirt: It's a Haggerty's

My Presto Warrior shirt was um... well... it was a little small for awhile, so it's been sitting in a drawer waiting for me to fit back into it. And I'm back in! Happy to have it back in rotation.

Belt: Lilo

Guys... it matches the cuffs and collar on my shirt! Not  quite exactly, but close enough for me. 

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman

This should probably a Truthful Tuesday confessions. But I wanted these pinky breeches SO MUCH, but you know, I'm relatively frugal and was hoping to grab a used pair. The problem with light pink breeches is that no one sells them. Likely because they stain pretty much before you even put them on. So finally, I decided to treat myself after a few extra braiding jobs I hadn't expected. Unfortunately, there wasn't a 28 to be had anywhere on the interwebs and TS had released this as a limited edition color. So I got them in 30 figuring the few pairs of 30 I have fit okay, just a bit loose. Well... Those ones are low rise. These are mid. The mid rise seem to run bigger as these are enormous. Fortunately, I think one of the kids at the barn is going to buy them from me. Even more fortunate is that TS has decided to re-release pinky so I should be able to find a pair in the correct size once these sell.  That will teach me to pay retail! I KNOW BETTER! Sheesh. 

Boots: Celeris UK

Rose gold and pinky look fab together if you ask me. Also, I really should clean and polish these poor boots. They've been so good to me, I need to return the favor!
