Thursday's Threads

Outfit day falls on a very special day this year... May the 4th! Star Wars Day! Growing up, my brother was Star Wars obsessed. So as a good sister, I saw all the movies and became a much less fanatical fan myself. While I wouldn't find myself waiting overnight in line for tickets or anything crazy, I do enjoy the franchise. And thus, definitely down to celebrate Star Wars Day. You can probably imagine what that entails if you're me...

I know. I really know how to get in the spirit of things. Wait till you get the closeup experience!

T-shirt: Rock and Republic
Long sleeve T: Old Navy
Sadly it's not warm enough here yet for short sleeves so I had to layer. My mom actually gave me this shirt for Chanukah, and I was pretty excited for it. Bedazzled Darth Vader? Duh. Yes Please!

Jeans: Henry and Belle
These pants are totally bad ass. They're thinner than denim, but are similar to coated jeans. I guess they're like coated cotton? I dunno. Whatever they are, they're stretchy and comfy and have zipper ankles. Bad ass.

Shoes: Irregular Choice

These are potentially the most epic pair of flats that I own. And that's saying something. They're C3PO, covered in glitter, and have these awesome soles. I mean... Do you have more epic shoes that these? If you do, you best email me proof.

Accessories:
Thanks to Zulily and a sub box named Fandom of the Month, I have a pretty fabulous Star Wars themed jewelry collection.
Necklace:
I actually had choices here, (dork alert: level Red) and decided to go with this wire necklace that actually reads Jedi, though it's hard to see in the photo.

Arm party!
Lefty:
Yep, that's Darth there in some rhinestone glory next to my apple watch. They make a good team.

Righty:
It was impossible to get a decent photo of righty today. Too much going on. First up is a wrap bracelet from Fandom of the Month. It reads "The force is strong with this one." Next up is a charm bracelet featuring some of the original cast: Chewy, C3PO, a storm trooper, and of course Darth Vader. The last two bangles feature R2D2 and Luke & Leah respectively.

Ok, enough geeking out, I'm sure what you really came for was last night's riding outfit! So here it is:

It was pretty chilly last night, in the mid 50's with stupid wind. So I had to layer a bit!

Polo and Sweatshirt: Annie's Equestrian

I had actually thought these two pieces were the same plaid, but they're actually not. Oops. Close enough though. Don't tell the fashion police!

Breeches: Ariat
These are oldies but goodies. I think I got them 3 years ago, and they haven't died  yet!

Belt: Burberry
The plaid on the polo short is almost the same as Burberry's! Closer than the sweatshirt is anyway...

Boots: HKM Equestrian
I haven't worn these in awhile, and figured it was a good time to break them out last night. I remembered why I don't wear them much... The foot is a little too big. It's not terrible, but I do wish I had sized down. Jampy wanted to match me, so he wore these awesome front boots from Le Mieux:
I know. We're the most awesome momma-pony duo. That's love my friends.

And that's what I'm wearing this week! What do you have on? Do you celebrate May the 4th?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit Day everyone! I'm a little late getting this post up, but better late than never! We had a big wig corporate boss coming to visit today so I had to actually dress like a professional. The horror! You may want to turn the brightness down on your screen, my legs are out today... and they're pretty blinding.
No, I'm not wearing white stockings. #riderproblems

Dress: Modcloth
This isn't actually a branded Modcloth dress, but I can't read what the tag says so we'll just go with that. I bought this YEARS ago, but have only worn it a few times. It keeps getting lost in the bottom of the dry cleaning pile. So it gets worn every year or so when I finally get around to dry cleaning it. I love the hot pink accents on it. Brings a little excitement to an otherwise tame dress.

Cardigan: Express
About 100 or so years ago, Express was selling cashmere. It was a glorious time because it wasn't crazy expensive. This little cardigan was from my Mom for Chanukah that year. It's a little small if I were to try and close it, but it works great as a shrug. Bonus that the pink is almost exactly the same shade as the dress accents.

Shoes: Dolce Vita
This outfit is legit vintage now that I'm thinking about it! Everything is super old. Haha! These shoes are from Little Black Bag back before the merger that took its life. I'm embarrassed to admit, though I've had these for years, this is the first time I've worn them. Not sure why, they're amazing! So comfy, and full of cute details. I like that they're cute and sweet in the front and dangerous and spikey in the back. It's like a shoe mullet. But in a good way. Sorry about the blinding feet and legs folks. They very rarely see the sun. Obviously.

Arm Party!!!
Lefty:
Who knew I had so many items in this somewhat insane shade of pink?! I can't even remember where this bracelet came from, but I have a feeling it was the result of needing a few more dollars for free shipping somewhere. It's a little big, but works just fine behind the giant apple watch.

Righty:
I had so much fun dressing righty today! I chose one gray and one black snakeskin bangle to match the dress (both are vintage, I think 70's era Italian bracelets). Then I added a pink and gold elephant bracelet from Stella and Dot along with an orange leather and chain bracelet from Fornash to match the shoes. I love how righty ties the whole outfit together!

I have a riding outfit to share too! Remember when I said there was more than one pair of those crazy half chaps in my possession?? Well...
Here is pair number two! Turns out pair number 4 didn't get altered while it was away so those may have to move on to a new skinnier owner... Anyway, let's look closer at the outfit!

Polo shirt: Hollister
There's a Hollister outlet near me, and honestly I don't go in much. All the clothes are so tiny it makes me a little sad. But at some point I got this chocolate brown polo, and I do really love it. It's not cut like some of their other clothes, so it actually fits!

Belt: Ralph Lauren
It has a horseshoe buckle and so I had to own it.

Breeches: Annie's Equestrian
I really love the Annie's breeches. They're so soft and comfy. The colors are super fun too! If you haven't tried them yet, you're totally missing out.

Half Chaps: No brand
Paddock Boots: Ariat
Pair number two is a little bigger on top that the pair number 1. But they do stay put pretty well, so I have no complaints. They're so fun and different I can overlook the odd fit. At least for now. Once they break in, they may not stay put as well, but I'll cross that path when it's an issue. It's hard to see in this photo, but the purple background on here is actually metallic. It would be way too crazy if there was more of it, but I think it's subtle enough to be awesome.
Pardon my beat up old Ariat paddock boots. They are on their last days as the soles are coming off. I have a pair in reserve though, so fear not!

That's what I'm wearing today! Any favorites? What do you have on?

Thursdays Threads!

Outfit Day! So I must preface outfit day with a follow up on Jampy. His fever stayed down all night (yay!) so as long as it's still down at lunch time, my vet and I both think it's safe for me to go to the game. My horse sitter who is feeding tonight is very capable and will make sure he's ok until I get home late tonight. Soooooo, this means I'm dressed for game day today!
I mentioned yesterday this is Snoopy give-a-way day, so obviously, I have an outfit for that.

T-shirt: Major League Baseball
Seriously, how cute is this?! My friends that I go to the game with gave it to me for my birthday. I love it so much, and am so excited to finally wear it!

Jeans: Touch
Yep. Yankees emblem on my butt. I love these jeans. They're too long though, so I have them safety pinned at the bottom. I'm cool like that.

Belt: unknown
I found this vintage buckle on Etsy awhile back. The belt I got on ebay from some guy in New York that makes belts.

Shoes: Eastland

I own three pairs of Yankee's shoes. Probably excessive. But it's taken awhile to find a pair I really love. These are them! Hopefully I don't kill them before finding pair number 4...

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is all decked out in some Etsy finds. Also my apple watch. Because I need to count those steps!

Righty:

This is another Etsy bracelet. This thing is so cool! It's made from an actual game ball! I like the bottle cap with the logo on it, and the baseball button clasp. So CUTE!

Fear not, I also have a super fun riding outfit to share today:
I got super pose-y for this one. Model status?

Top: Horseware
I believe this is last seasons. I saw it on Tack of the Day a few weeks ago and snatched it right up. I love the color combo. This is my second top I've gotten from Horsewares, and I have to say, I'm a huge fan. Will definitely be adding to the collection in the future.

Belt: Horseware
Well... I mean... It matched the top so I had to get it too. Right?

Breeches: Annie's Equestrian
These are the original, original blue breeches from Annie's. The ones available now are a little fancier. These are not euro seat, have plain pockets, and velcro bottoms. The new ones are euro seat with sock bottoms, and have rhinestone with trim on the pockets. Much fancier. Also, the new ones are on sale at Annie's right now! Click here if you need a pair.

Half Chaps: unknown brand
Paddock Boots: Horka
You guys! These half chaps are crazy fun aren't they?! I found them on ebay for $68.00. Yes, that's right. My one complaint: they said they were top grain leather, and they are definitely faux leather. But still, how awesome are they? And for the price I can't be too upset. They're a little oddly sized. I actually had to have them taken in because they were huge. They're still a bit too big on top, but it's not like I'll be showing in them, so it's fine. You saw these paddock boots last week.
Confession... I bought a few other pairs of these half chaps in different styles. So you'll be seeing more of them soon!

That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on?

What's Up Wednesday!

This week has been pretty low key around here. We're definitely in those hazy, lazy days of summer, and I LOVE it! It's been in the low 90's and although it's humid, I really can't complain. I just love summer. Wish it would last longer!
I even wore shorts. Which happens maybe once a year. You may require sunnies to view this photo of my never exposed legs.

The pugs, however, think it's too hot:
Pug puddle

so hotz. can't move.
The horses have been "working" all week... But I use that term loosely. After my time away, Jamp is having a hard time settling back to work. Also I moved the jumps finally so he seems to think he's moved across the country. There clearly are nothing but dragons in every part of the ring now. It's not easy being Jamp.
New course that I have yet to jump because monsters.

Prior to moving jumps

Also before moving jumps

Mommy... Did you SEE THAT?! No Jamp. I didn't.

That fence keeps the monsters in the ring. Safe for snackz

Mom, enough with the selfies.
don't make me go out there.

Romes has been really good! I've been trying to get him to stand and relax when he hears the campers being rowdy on the other side of the woods, or the loudspeaker from the triathlon. Some days are more successful than others of course, but he's definitely making the effort. I like this little horse so much!
The grass is KY was way better than this...

I'm so handsome in an app!

not scared of fake flowers

I thought I was scared of this, but no. No monsters here.
Since Rio is still fighting off whatever it is that's making his legs big, I wanted to make sure he got out for a walk everyday. With the heat I didn't want to do too much with him, so we either hand walked or tack walked around the property. And maybe had some grass too...
Mom, this isn't my best side.

riding snackzzzzz!

This shadow makes me look fat.

Damn Pokemon are all over the arena.

Past my bedtime.

Handsome in any filter.

Also handsome sans filter.
I had a nice flat on Badger Saturday and was hoping to jump him Sunday, but he threw a shoe. This horse... I'm telling you, he's thrown more shoes since I've owned him than I think any of the others have total in the last five years. Trainer let me ride one of her Grand Prix horses Sunday instead though, so that was super fun.
One more selfie, and I'll take off a shoe.

Told you.
After horsing around (literally) all day on Saturday, I was DYING for a lobster roll. Because New England Summer, duh. And then I remembered that they have them at the Snack Shack! I was super excited because the Snack Shack is located at the lake that's just around the corner from my house. Walking distance! (And you pass a pokestop on the way...)
Dinner
view.

Best. Decision. Ever.
After stuffing my face, I had a few errands to run, so that obviously culminated in a little frozen yogurt. I mean, when it's still 91 degrees at 9 pm, you need a cold treat, right?

I'm also getting organized to post some more reviews over at Beeju Boxes. I have Heart to Horse Box, Barkbox, and Nicole's Creations almost ready to post. So be sure to head over there to see what goodies arrived this month!

After a long weekend of horsing, eating, and moving jumps, I realized the Pugs had the right idea so i joined them in their loafing.
And that my friends is what's up this Wednesday! What's up with you? Do anything fun this past week? Any horse shows or road races? Tell me what you've been up to in the comments!
I shall leave you with last night's gorgeous sunset.
