Truthful Tuesday

So the other day I was filling up Shiny's hay bucket to soak her hay, much like this:

But I was also scrolling the phone whilst filling. And I was thinking, this is taking a really long time. And when I looked up, I wasn't filling the bucket at all, I was watering the grass behind it... Ha.
So, uh... You know. Pay attention to what you're doing and maybe put the phone down sometimes.

Anyone else do something silly like that recently?

Truthful Tuesday

Guys. My horses will be home in 15 days and I feel woefully unprepared for their arrival. I mean... Kind of. Not really. I need to order feed and shavings, but I do have enough shavings to get the stalls ready. Really the barn is in good shape. And I've made a dent in all the laundry so that's good too. But the ring which doubles as a turnout space... not so ready. I went out there yesterday planning to set a new course and have it ready for my helper to drag. Key word, PLANNING.

So prior to heading outside I stopped in the barn for a trash bag (for some of the fill that didn't make it through winter) and my measuring tape to measure any related distances. Of course the measuring tape was missing. I looked absolutely everywhere before reaching out to my helper who told me he borrowed it. Sigh. Of course he did. That's okay, I can always measure another day! Out I went!

I got busy retrieving things that had blown around (it's been a windy winter here) and then I saw it. It looked like a big hole in the ring. Oh dear. A sink hole? I got closer. Nope not a sink hole. But an enormous rock that looks my helper must have discovered and started to dig out but then apparently abandoned the project? Double sigh. My knee has been angry so digging up a rock isn't on my to do list at the moment. I'll leave that for him. But like, we gotta get this done and then filled with stone dust before the horses come home. My worker doesn't have set hours when the horses aren't here other than he is supposed to come in at some point each weekday, so while I was hoping to see him this morning, I didn't. If he's not here tomorrow before I go to the barn, I'll just have to reach out and schedule a quick meeting. It's crunch time! And I can't have holes in the ring.

So I guess my confession today is that I haven't been staying on top of things around here and because of that I now feel a bit stressed about getting things ready for horses. No one's fault by my own of course. But I do have to ask, why do people start things, not say a word about them, and then not finish them? Like I shouldn't have just discovered a partially dug up rock. I should have been informed of it, or it should have just been taken care of. But alas. Here we are. At least he found it though, right? That's the bright side. It was found by a human and not the hard way by an equine.

Oh my other confession is that it got too late and I didn't finish moving the jumps. And then tonight it was raining. Maybe tomorrow!

Truthful Tuesday

Today's confession is that each of my horses has a different water bucket set up. Which I'm sure sounds ridiculous. And it is kind of. But they're not actually that different, and there is a reason for all of it!

We'll start with Eros' buckets. I actually had bought these buckets for Pammon when he came home that Covid summer and I couldn't find my regular buckets in stock anywhere. But now they are Eros' and after I show them to you, I'll explain why I gave them to him.

So normal buckets have that flat back area on the one side so they sit nicely against a wall, but usually the flat part is shorter than the ones you see here. You can kind of see a normal one behind that top bucket for reference. These buckets are also a much heavier duty that my regular ones. Which means when they are full, they're pretty heavy! But worth it. Okay, so now that you know what's different about them, I'll tell you why E has them. As we all know, Eros is almost perfect in nearly every way, but he does have a few quirks. One of them is that he LOVES to throw his buckets. I feed him on the ground in a rubber tub because he would throw his feed tub against the wall all night and keep me awake. But he's just as happy to throw his water buckets. With the wider flat area on these, they don't bounce as much against the wall so less water ends up spilling. Which is nice. And since they're heavier duty, they're holding up well to the abuse. This is his second season with them, and they still look great. You may also notice I have guards on the handles just to protect them from that part of the handle that folds back on itself.
These guards are great

I've seen horses rip noses and eyelids on those, so these little covers just protect from that. I get them from Schneiders. There are other ways to cover them that might be cheaper (and you'll see one such way shortly) but I like these guys.

Shiny's set up is my "normal" if you will. Regular buckets with the guards on them:
Occassionally she will damage a bucket by rubbing on it, but for the most part, she's pretty gentle on the things in her stall. These are holding up just fine!

And then there's Al's buckets:
He has the normal buckets like Shiny because he's also not particularly abusive to them. But do you see what's different?
His handles are wrapped in vet wrap. Why you ask? Because Al enjoys removing the guards. Every time I put them on. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. So finally I just gave up and used the vet wrap. Which isn't a guarantee. He also removes this sometimes, but it seems to stay on a lot longer than guards. He's such a child.

So that's today's confession. I apparently cave to every whim of my horses. But you know, happy horse, happy life! So here we are. Do you have to make any adjustments like these for your horses?

Truthful Tuesday

So this year, I am doing my own weekend chores. I actually enjoy doing the chores, but the reason I hire that task out during the week is my confession today. And here it is:

I AM THE WORLD'S SLOWEST STALL CLEANER

There. I said it. And it's true. In my defense, I've never had to be quick. My horses have their turnout time during morning chores. While yes, I wish my horses could be out 12 hours (or 24 even, but Eros would probably petition for a new home), I just am not able to provide that. Shiny has her own paddock in the back, but the boys turn out individually in the ring. I just, sadly, don't have the land to have paddocks for each of them nor shelters. So we do the best we can.

All of that rambling to say that I have three hours AT LEAST to do the morning chores. So it's always been a leisurely activity. Which isn't a problem or anything. I manage to fill that three hours by cleaning the three stalls, doing some laundry, and scrubbing all the buckets. But somehow, by the time I've done those things, turned the horses both out and in, and dumped all the manure buckets, it's usually a four hour job. Also fine, and nice even if they get extra turnout time (though, as mentioned, Eros may disagree because there are BUGS outside, the horror). The only trouble with the four hours, is that I then have to work all three of the horses. And now that it's summer that probably means also rinsing them off and getting them at least partially dry before tucking back in their stalls. And that's another like six hours. Plus the cleaning up after. I have a bit of a compulsion about my barn floor being clean. I sweep it constantly while doing chores, each time a horse comes out of its stall, and then at the end of the day it gets swept once more and then blown. I have rubber pavers so you really have to do both to get all the shavings and hay out of the cracks.

So I get out there around 7, and next I know it's somehow like 6 pm and where did the time go? I mean, I probably took a few minutes to pee once or twice... And while they were drying I get some sit down time... But still. It's a long couple of days in the barn. Thank goodness it's my favorite place in the world to be!

Truthful Tuesday

Okay, so normally for Truthful Tuesday I confess things I haven't done but should have. Or something equally lazy. But NOT TODAY! Today I am confessing that I did productive things this weekend! More than one! Yay me!

First, and this one has been a long time coming... I finally turned my trailer around and unhooked it! Imagine that? Been so long. It's cleaned out and ready to go for pickup in the spring too.

But my real accomplishment came on Monday. I finally went through the tack shed and pulled out allllll the stuff I need to sell. I finally accepted that I should sell all the old blankets I'm not using anymore. I had held on to them because they're really nice blankets, but honestly, if I'm not using them, and I keep finding new ones I like better, than it's time to let them go. I didn't find much tack to part with this time, but there are some saddle pads and some grooming items. Everything will be on my Facebook page once I get to photographing everything. It took me all day to go through everything on Monday and with the earlier sunset I ran out of daylight. I moved everything into an empty stall in the barn though, so later this week I'm hoping to get done with photos and get it all priced and listed. Please buy my stuff! Eros wants his own saddle. He'd be most appreciative.

So that's today's confession. I finally got my shit together and did some things I've been wanting to get done. How about you? Did you have a productive weekend? Do something fun with your horse?

Truthful Tuesday

MOVING DAY! I nearly forgot to write this post because I've been all encompassed emotionally with this move. But everything went smoothly and the horses are all settled in at the boarding barn for the winter. For the very first time EVER I shipped all three at the same time. I wasn't sure how Shiny would feel about being in the middle part of the trailer, but she seemed to do okay. It's a very short trip (7 miles) so even is she wasn't happy, it wouldn't be an extended strain for her. (My trailer is a 2+1 but I had it made 2' short because when I ordered it, I didn't have so many horses and only intended to use the extra space for unloading and some extra storage. But it is big enough for lil' Shine so yay! I tied her this time, but if we take longer trips, I think I may leave her loose so she can find her own comfortable place in there.

Anyway, none of that is a confession. My confession is that I nearly went out to do night check... three times. Because I kept thinking I forgot. Ha! It always takes me a little bit of time to adjust to them not being here. The bright side though? No shavings stuck to my jammies after evening blanket changes!

Truthful Tuesday

I've switched up our riding schedule this week because the horses are having their teeth done Wednesday and I wanted to fit in our lessons around that potential day off. (We'll see if I can get a few ridden beforehand, but I'm not completely sure what time they're coming.) So instead of Monday off, the horses had Sunday off and we rode Monday. And my confession is that I'm completely lost as to what day it is now! I'm such a creature of habit. The horses seem fine. They don't seem confused. Me though? So lost. I literally keep checking my phone to see what day it is. I would never answer the questions correctly if someone was checking me for a brain injury... Sheesh.

I guess next week we best to stick with our schedule!

Does this happen to any of you? Are you so stuck in a routine that any straying is disorienting? No? Just me?

Truthful Tuesday

So Friday I was like I HAVE TO MOVE MY JUMPS! (I had been putting it off because of the ridiculous heat and humidity.) So I told myself do it before you ride or you won't do it. So I set a new course.

But here's my confession... It wore me out so much, I didn't end up riding any of my horses that day. It was 91 degrees and 75% humidity plus some unrelenting sun. I don't think they minded the day off. Instead of riding, I floated in my pool for awhile.

Honestly, I have zero regrets.

Truthful Tuesday: The one with the writer's block

Today's confession is that I'm writing this super late in the day because I had no idea what to confess today. I have a few things in the works, but nothing that's ready to really mention yet. I managed to not embarrass myself today, but probably just because it was a rainy day and mostly I was just here at the farm by myself. Pia doesn't judge! Ha!

But not only did I have a case of writer's block today, I also am not really sure what I want to wear for outfit day this week. Maybe you guys can help? Do you have something you want to see? Something you know I own but haven't worn? A particular color? Maybe a certain theme? Help a blogger out!

Anyway, that's today's confession. I'm feeling a little uninspired. Not in a bad way. Just neutral. Anything you need to confess today?

Truthful Tuesday: The one with the mold

New England is great because we get all the seasons and for much of the region, we have easy access to oceans and beaches. But because of all that, we also have a lot of humidity. And with humidity, comes mold. For the most part, my tack doesn't really get moldy since I use it regularly. But this year, I have a few saddles that aren't getting use. They hang out in my tack room with their covers on, so while I was aware that was some mold on the saddles (I could see it on the bottoms) I didn't realize how icky they really were. Until yesterday.

I had decided over the weekend that I would clean and condition all my saddles on Monday. That meant I had to take the covers off and face the horror of those unused saddles. I didn't think to snap before pics, but trust me when I say they were DISGUSTING. Even the covers were moldy and had to be washed. But the fact that my tack was moldy is not my confession (though perhaps it ought to be).

My confession is that I'm kind of an idiot and only realized after cleaning two of them that I should be wearing a mask while I do that. I'm pretty allergic to mold (and hay but who's keeping track...) so I should have thought of that before I even started. But I didn't. Anyway, P had been out in the barn with me for the first two, but she was bored and wanted to go back in the house, so I took a break then and brought her in. I did put a mask on for the last moldy saddle, but here is where you can feel free to laugh at my idiocy. Once the mold was off the last unused saddle, I removed the mask since the toxin was eliminated. But you know what I forgot? I hadn't yet put the covers in the washer. When I did that, a big cloud of mold dust puffed out the door, right in my (now maskless) face. Like I didn't know that would happen?

Fortunately, the universe really wants to help me learn from these mistakes so I had a lovely ocular migraine this morning as a reminder to keep my face out of things I'm allergic to. I hear you universe. Hopefully lesson learned... (No promises though.)

On the bright side, all five saddles are now squeaky clean and nicely conditioned. So at least there's that!

Truthful Tuesday

I may have posted about this before, I'm not sure... But today's confession is that I am the SLOWEST stall cleaner on the planet. Seriously. It takes me like 45 minutes to clean a stall thoroughly. Why am I like that? Shiny's stall is faster for me because she's fairly neat. She poops in a few places, but pees in one and she doesn't drag anything around. Eros, however, is a terrible housekeeper. He poops wherever, pees everywhere and mixes it all around. Basically, his stall gets practically stripped everyday. On top of all the mess, he likes to throw his water buckets around so even the clean shavings in the front get wet. I'm not sure if he likes a damp house or likes to get fresh shavings everyday? Hard to tell. Maybe it's both.

What about you? Are you one of those super efficient people who can clean a stall in five minutes? Or are you like me and it takes a short lifetime? Tips to speed things up?

Truthful Tuesday

My confession today is that I'm a little low on jumps for my ring. I have seven pairs of standards, so I can make six jumps if I want an oxer in there someplace. Since my ring is small, I don't want too many jumps in there anyway, but I would like to be able to make two oxers and have a full course of 8 jumps. Unfortunately, new jumps aren't really in my budget right now, so I have to be creative.

I reset the course yesterday and managed 10 "jumps" though only one oxer still. (Also seen below, one pile of poles that I didn't use... )

I used some jump fill "hurdles" to make a two stride up at the back of the ring down the center (three strides for Shiny) and then used some rail raisers for two of the other fences. One set holds a white gate, and the other is just a simple vertical. It's behind the purple jump so you can't really see it here.

I did realize though, that if I want to get these horses prepared to start showing again, I really do need some flowers in the jumps. Both of them like to take a look at flowers, so we need to desensitize that some before we venture out. My flower boxes are nearing the end of their life, but they are still holding on! So I just needed to get flowers which isn't too terribly expensive.

I did stumble across something really cute to put flowers in on Amazon though, so I did splurge a wee bit on those. They'll be here later this week hopefully, so I'll share them on Instagram once they arrive.

I have started compiling my wish list for jump parts though. I should have a really good braiding weekend in a few weeks for a local final, so I might be able to get a few things after that. If not, maybe in the spring. Clearly, we're making do just fine with what we have, so it's just a want and not a need.

Truthful Tuesday: Trailer Confessions

So... I brought my horses home on April 30th. A week ago Friday. But I still haven't parked my trailer back in its spot. What's taking me so long you ask? Well, I was inspired by Jen's post to wash and wax the trailer and I can't really do that when it's tucked away in its spot next to the trees. And it kept raining here! Plus, I was kind of procrastinating because I knew it would be a several hour project.

The Before.

I used the same products as Jen in her post, so click the link above to Jen's post if you're interested. It's basically like Windex for trailers, spray and wipe. But you're probably wondering what my confession is... Um. Well. I didn't do the top.

I have a big ladder in the barn, but it's heavy and a little broken, and I didn't feel like dealing with it. So I just used my braiding ladder, the wheel wells, and the back of the truck to give me height. I'm 5'2" so that's still not much height. I could reach all of the white parts easily from my ladder, but the silver part at the top and the roof didn't get done. And there were some spots on the weather stripping that I couldn't get fully clean. But at least it's mostly done?

It took FOREVER, and probably the next time it's due for a wash and wax, I may hire a pro so they can do the roof too. Since the horses have Monday off, I had a day to dedicate, but it took a full four and a half hours and that was without doing the roof!

I still haven't parked her because I have a little organizing I want to do in there, which is also easier when it's facing this direction (otherwise the tack room door is against the trees). Plus I have to pull into the road and then back it in which is tough to do on a weekday here. I live on the corner of two state roads that get very busy. Sunday mornings are the best time for that.

So that's my confession. I only washed and waxed like 90% of my trailer after leaving it hooked up in the middle of the driveway for a week. Good thing I live alone!

Anything you need to confess today?

Truthful Tuesday

Guys. I'm feeling a little stressed out lately. Pammon is back on the DL (more tomorrow). And my job. Ugh. Basically we have a secretary and a call center manager running things, and let me tell you. They haven't a clue what they're doing. It's not going well. I need to learn to stop caring so I can just get through the work days. But it's tough. Still have a job though. so yay? But that's not what we're going to talk about today, because that's annoying and who wants to read a bunch of whining? Not me!
So let's talk about something a little more relatable, illustrated with kind of hilarious photos. And a video. Shall we?
So I love to post about how perfect Shiny pants is. And you've all seen lots of video clips of her popping over little jumps looking just as adorable and perfect as ever. And really that's all pretty true. Every now and then she can be a little sassy though. Like doing this when I ask for canter:
But some days, the two of us just aren't on the same page. And that was true on Sunday when we had a little jump school. It started out fine. We maybe were a little under paced to start out, but the fences came up out of stride and it was okay. But then? It was like the distance fairy just left me high and dry. And I was pulling on that poor pony and making all kinds of bad decisions. Mostly we just chipped a bunch, but we had two particularly hideous jumps. Wanna see? Yes. Yes you do.
Told you. Shiny really was still her perfect self. It was me. I was the problem. Maybe you're thinking, okay, well those weren't that bad... It's way more apparent when you stop the video:
Let me just pull your face off Shiny... You don't mind do you?
It looks like I'm laughing
But really I'm saying a bad word.

Poor thing. We did have plenty of good jumps too though.

And I'm a good mom so as an apology for my bad riding I iced her legs.
Anyone know if they make these ice boots in pony size though? These do the job, but she finds them a little annoying because they're too long. Not that I mind icing her knees too.

So my confession is that somedays I live up to the bad riding ammy stereotype. (Who doesn't?) Shiny also has a confession today... She's in raging heat and pees any time Eros makes eye contact with her. Super classy.

Anything you need to confess today? Any major ammy moments this weekend?

Truthful Tuesday

Today's confession? I have no idea how to set jumps and/or trot poles for a large pony. I *think* she's expected to have an 11' stride? I have no idea. I only set one line in the ring. It's a four. Ish. I set it a little short and figured that would be right... If nothing else, it will an exercise in adjustability. Right? Sure.

As for trot poles... I figured I'd ask one of the most knowledgeable bloggers I know:
So we'll have to see how those work out I guess... Ha! Poor Shiny. The other thing I had trouble with? Just setting the course in general. First, I didn't even start with a plan. I just set stuff up as I went along. Never the best way to go about things, but whatever. The real trouble though, is that all of my jumps are meant to be set at 3' and higher. So I had a bunch of rails and fill left over since Shiny is only jumping around 2' right now. I also need to replace standards and get a few more flower boxes. But that's an expense for next year. I think I'm going to stick with the Burlingham jumps from now on. Are they as sturdy as wood? Nope. But since I do all my own course setting, I really do appreciate them being lightweight. Plus the plastic is way less offended when I leave them out all winter and never bother painting them. Pros and cons... gotta weigh 'em!
My other confession? Scared the crap out of myself the other night.... I didn't realize my belt was glow in the dark, and I went into the bathroom where I had lazily left it out and nearly died.
But also, that belt is way more fun now.

Anything you need to confess today? Or have any funny course setting stories?

Truthful Tuesday

You guys, I've really been slacking in the house again. Now that all three horses get ridden, it's taking all my energy away from being productive at home. But you know what? I don't even mind. So worth it to be back in the saddle!
But since I'm not getting as much done re organizing and decorating the house, my online shopping has subsided at least. So that's a positive. Plus, I think I've purchased just about everything on the internet at this point...
Anyway, my real confession today is that I've been absolutely terrible about cleaning my house. I ran the vacuum around last night and cleaned the bathroom, but like... everything else is dusty and dirty. It's so bad. I just hate spending so much time cleaning. Ugh. How do you all motivate to get that stuff done? Clearly, I need some suggestions.
My goal for this weekend is to finish up organizing all my barn crap so the barn will be neat and ready for Eros and Shiny when they come home. Fingers crossed I get that done!

Truthful Tuesday

I spent the day off yesterday working on the trailer packing again. It should have gone very quickly, but apparently a family of rodents had at some point taken up residence in my show trunk. It was DISGUSTING! So much poop. I've never seen so much in one place. Fortunately, they only destroyed a pair of polos (of course it was the stupid expensive Eskadron climatex ones) and a pair of hind boots that I wasn't particularly attached to. They kindly left my leather boots alone. But you guys. My trunk will never be the same.
This gross photo is about 3/4 of the way through it getting emptied.
I'm very grateful the tenants had already moved out. But boy did they leave a mess. So disgusting. Everything that was washable went into the washer and everything that wasn't got scrubbed and bleached. I guess if nothing else, Covid prepared me with solid disinfecting skills?
This is after much scrubbing and bleaching. Obviously those stains are here to stay. I suppose I COULD stain it and they might blend in more. But I just went with something easier:
An extra baby pad as a liner! Tada! All better! At least visually.

I have a long list of stuff I need to replace in the trunk. Mostly items that were expired or no longer the consistency they should be... Some of those ointments and things were like 10 years old!

In other trailer news, I got the replacement keys this weekend and they fit! Woohoo! Bad news is that door wasn't actually locked, but is still very much stuck. Now that I know it's not locked I can be a little more aggressive I guess. Hey, at least I have keys now!

So those are my confessions today: I housed rodents for quite some time and still did not fix the trailer door.

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Truthful Tuesday

If you are my Facebook friend, then you already know I've lost my trailer keys. The real confession is that I knew they weren't where they should be way back in November when I moved the horses. But since I didn't need them, I forgot to look for them. This past weekend the weather was AMAZING. Perfect for doing outside tasks like moving my show stuff back into the trailer. My tack room door is on the opposite side of my trailer than my barn is, so it would have been much more convenient to open the side ramp and walk stuff in that way. Problem was, the little door above the ramp was locked.
I spent several hours looking everywhere they could possibly have been. I've deduced that I must have either left them at the trailer dealer, or dropped them at the truck dealer when I traded the truck. Because they are definitely not at my house. Along with those keys, I'm also missing some keys for a trunk lock and a bike lock that I use for the tack room at away shows. So that's a bummer, but all things I can easily replace. So that's not so bad. Fortunately, the trunk lock that no longer has a key was not on the trunk!
The good news is, thanks to Hillary, I now know that there are only a handful of different locks for trailers. And there are websites where you can just order new keys. So $27 later, I have three new keys on their way to me. Fingers crossed they work.
I did still start moving things back in. I had ordered some new plastic tubs so my stuff is super tidy (and matchy). For blankets and coolers though, I have different tubs on order. Since those things are heavy I wanted wheeled tubs instead. They won't match the others, but that's okay. They just delivered a few minutes ago, so hopefully I'll get that completed this weekend. Then I just need to clean out the tack box and make a list of things that need replacing in there. I obviously don't need any of that any time soon. But it's nice to have a list and feel like it's organized.

I've basically packed it for Pammon, Shiny, and Eros. I don't have three of everything, but do of most things. And likely they wouldn't all three be showing anyway. Given that most of them are lame. Who knows which ones will ever actually show. But again. Good to be prepared! And most stuff I have anyway from my past horses. The only things I need still are a shipping halter for Shiny, some new locks (lol.), and I think I'm going to replace the buckets and feed tubs. They're all pretty beat up, and are all something like 14 years old. They got a lot of use back in the day. So time to replace. The list will grow when I get to the trunk though, I'm sure!
Anyway, today's confession is about the keys. Have any of you lost keys? Seems a pretty common occurrence.

Truthful Tuesday

Do you guys ever do something when you KNOW it's going to go badly? Not something major, but just like, something really stupid? Well I do.
I needed to find some bits in my bit trunk this weekend. My bit box has "feet" on the bottom that are basically just small boards that run the length of the short sides of the trunk. So one on each side. The one on the left is not attached anymore, but it's wide enough that it stays upright when the trunk sits on it anyway. Can you see where this is going?
So while my horses are away, I have my helper doing a real deep cleaning of the barn. He's been scrubbing all the walls and washing the floors. Even moving the trunks out out of the tack room to really clean the floor. But when he put them back, he put the bit box too close to the wall. I needed to pull it away a little to unzip the cover and open it up. Now. I KNOW that one foot isn't attached. And I KNOW that pulling it sideways would make it tip over. But I did it anyway. Because sometimes I make poor life choices. The trunk wound up tipping over into the box next to it and squishing my finger in between the two. And of course the side that tipped was the side with ALL the bits in it. So it was HEAVY. It really hurt! I shook it off though and went about my day. It was the kind of hurt that was bad initially and then was mostly fine. I didn't really look at it again until the evening when I discovered my finger is a total drama queen.
(Please excuse the fact that I'm still hanging on to those bits of my new years manicure....)
I mean, if I looked at that finger, I would think, "probably a little broken." But it feels like nothing, just maybe a slight bruise. It's almost back to normal today anyway.
So do you ever do stupid things like that? Basically, I was too lazy to trouble shoot how to move it over without crushing my hand, so I just let it happen anyway. Genius.

In other news, I can't save this till tomorrow... I got my cow boots from Celeris on Friday!!!

I ordered these at the same time as the pink ones, but they took a little longer to get made. They are ridiculous in the best way. And the most amazing part is that they are so soft, they didn't even feel like new boots when I rode in them on Sunday.

Alright, that's enough confessing for one day. Anything you need to get off your back? Share in the comments!

Truthful Tuesday

Today's confessions is that I went away for the weekend, and it was kind of a million times easier now that I have the horses boarded. I wasn't in a mad rush to prepare meals and make sure legs were re-wrapped the morning before I left. And honestly? It was kind of nice. I returned on Monday which is the day the barn was closed, so all I had to do was unpack and pick the pups up at my mom's. So simple! I could get used to it... I mean I won't fully. I'm not sure I could go back to boarding year round for lots of reasons. All I'm saying is, I really appreciate it at certain times, like when I'm traveling.
But I really missed all the fur kids (like usual). I'm pretty confident the tall kids were appropriately cared for while I was away. I'll find out for sure tonight I guess... And the short kids were just fine with their grandma.
So that's it for today. Nothing too exciting. What about you? Anything you need to confess today?
