Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We had a few fun ones in a row, so today I'm taking it back to barn colors. But don't worry, there was still some fun to be had. Just a little bit. I let Al model today because he deserves some positivity here on the blog. (And he was almost a good boy today, so that earns him some credits.) Here's what he had on:

He was not interested in standing up nice and square for his photos. But at least he was standing like a nice boy!

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow Band: Boy O Boy Bridleworks
He's a lot of things, and thankfully adorable is one of them. It's his saving grace. Look at those little ears!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Baby Pad: Mattes
This one is my favorite saddle. It's funny because technically Eros' saddle is more or less the same, but I like this one better.

Boots: Horze
Sorry this is such a dark photo. My phone was overheating and it looked like this from every angle. But you've seen them before, so you have an idea of what they really look like.

That's what Al had on, and here's what I was wearing:
See? There's a little bit of fun happening!

Helmet: One K embellished by me
I need to do something like this for our turquoise outfit. Love my cow inserts!

Shirt: Math Cat
I also love my Amazon shirts. Highly recommend these!

Belt: Designer inspired
Found this cute belt when I did my unsuccessful reorganization the other day. I forgot I even had it!

Breeches: Romfh
I really like the ROMFH Sarafina breeches. These have the silicone patches which I am especially fond of. Also, the interior of my car is pretty much exactly this color. So fun!

Boots: Celeris UK
I love these boots. I hope they live forever. But if they don't, I absolutely will have them made again.

That's what we wore today! I have a few action shots to share because while I couldn't use the full ring with Al just yet, we did have a relatively nice ride today. He did some work up and on the bit:
And a little bit of stretching too:
I remain frustrated that I haven' cracked this horses code, because he's SO NICE. Like probably one of the easiest AND most talented horses I've had. And yet the brain part is so incomplete. Maybe we'll get some answers tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! But I was a big dumb today and forgot to get individual photos of Shiny's outfit. So we'll do this all from our mirror selfie. I'm nothing if not resourceful! So here's what we wore today in the frigid tundra. (Real feel today never got above 8... thankfully indoors it was a bit better.)

She's just the cutest. Today Shiny wore her Pinnacle bridle with the Boy O'Boy brow band. Her saddle pad was the Eskadron one with the faux sheepskin built in underneath. Her boots were the matching Eskadron faux fleece lined ones in Pine Green. (Same color as the pad.) And her quarter sheet is the one I just received before my trip. It's from Equine Wears who is on Etsy. So far her quarter sheet is holding up well, but unfortunately, the boy's sheet is having some issues. It seems the trim wasn't sewn on well, and it's detaching in several places. I've reached out to the maker, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I'm hoping she'll come up with a solution for me, because these weren't inexpensive and I've only used it for the past week.

Since most of my outfit is hidden in the mirror selfie above, I will share my own:

I have on two sweaters, the underneath one is from Asmar Equestrian and is a wool blend. The outer sweater is by Only Mine and is cashmere. Found it in a drawer with the tag still on... Oops. Getting some use now! My breeches are the same ones I wore last week, but I promise I did laundry and they were clean this morning! They're the Dover Wellesley. My socks are merino wool from Horze. (Almost forgot I had these, ten out of ten, highly recommend in the cold!)
My helmet is the One K Avance with Mips that I've been wearing the last few weeks. My jacket and vest are Old Navy, and I wore the full chaps which are by Journeyman with the petrol paddock boots from Celeris.

And that's the abbreviated version of Thursday's Threads this week! So sorry for the lack of individual photos. I'm blaming the cold. I think my five brain cells have all frozen into a useless clump this week. Perhaps we'll do better next week!

Thursday's Threads: The one with my favorite color

Glitter. That's my favorite color. And today, we wore glitter. Okay, actually I took outfit photos yesterday because I knew today would be winter. And it was. There were many layers today. But yesterday there were fewer, so we'll use that outfit. Eros modeled today and he looked fabulous. FABULOUS! But he was upstaged tonight by the northern lights. So I interrupt this outfit day with some photos of the magical sky:

This looks like a heart to me

I've never seen anything like it. The Iphone photos are a little more impressive than what we could see with human eyes, but even what we could see was incredible. What a year for cool stuff in the sky!

Okay, back to our regular programming. Here's what Eros wore this week:

I know. You don't see the glitter yet. Be patient. You will.

Bridle: Ponyo
There it is! There's the glitter! ALL over the bridle. This thing is so ridiculous, and I love it so much. The reins also have glitter. Even on the hand stops!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: Eskadron
Okay, well you can't really see the glitter in this photo. But the pad has a glitter layer underneath the mesh outer layer. It doesn't photograph well, but it does glisten in the sun. I kind of like that's is semi subtle ridiculousness.

Wraps: Ponyo
I had forgotten I'd gotten the polos when I bought the bridles and boots, and I was so happy with past me when I found them this week! I prefer Eros wear wraps versus boots these days.

That's what E had on, and here's my outfit:

Oh fear not. There's more glitter. You'll see.

Helmet: Horze
There's some! Up there on the helmet! I love the color of the helmet, and especially the glitter part. But I don't wear it that much because it's a bit rounder than my head. But as long as I leave my hair down it's not too bad.

Shirt: FitEq
I like these FitEq tops. I'm disappointed they've gone out of business, was hoping they'd do new colors this year.

Belt: Tory Burch
I don't have a green glitter belt. I did spray paint a buckle but it hasn't held up well. So I decided to match the piping on the saddle pad to my belt today. Metallic gold is always a strong second choice to glitter.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I rarely reach for these breeches because they're a size smaller than my usual size and I always thing they'll be too tight. But now that I ride three horses a day instead of four or five (and sometimes just two when Shiny's kid comes!) I think I've lost some muscle mass as these are fitting quite well suddenly. I certainly haven't lost any weight. But it's nice to know I can reach for these more often anyway!

Boots: Tuffrider embellished by me
You guys remember when life got real weird there for awhile and the whole world shutdown, and I started painting boots? These were one of those pairs! They're still going pretty strong. Some of the paint has worn off on the part by the zipper up the back. But otherwise it still looks pretty great!

And that's it for today! What do you think about the glitter? Too much, or just enough?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! I fell victim to a really good sale at Dreamers and Schemers, but I did semi behave myself by only buying ONE saddle pad, and not one for each horse. See? I'm trying! Shiny wanted to model today, so here's what we were wearing:

Don't worry, you'll see better below. But we were semi twinning! I just can't resist a good hunt scene print.

Okay, here's what Shiny had on:
Look at her standing so nicely! And that waistline! Shiny's having herself a hot girl summer.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow Band: Dark Jewel Designs
I know, I use this bridle a lot, but it's probably my favorite of the schooling bridles. Plus, who doesn't look badass in spikes?

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Dreamers and Schemers

I wasn't sure if I needed this pad when it first came out. But I knew I had an Ariat shirt that was likely to be a pretty close match. And then I realized that the trim was hunter green, and I was like well, guess I can't NOT own it. So here we are. It looks really cute on Shiny, and I bet it will on Al too.

Boots: Anky
I just used my favorite green tendon boots with this outfit. They worked very nicely!

Here's what I wore:
See?? We're twinning! Hunt scene top with green breeches to match the pad trim.

Helmet: One K
I dunno... I just think brown looks great with hunt scenes. So I chose this brown One K for today's rides.

Shirt: Ariat
Isn't this so cute?? I had originally bought it to match my lilac breeches, but it also looks great with green. The print on this is really similar to the pad's. The biggest difference is that the pad has light pink on it, and this top has lilac. But I think the complement each other well enough.
Here they are together so you can see how they differ:
Certainly not the same, but I think it's close enough for a riding outfit.

Belt: The Sugar Lady
I picked Rio's belt for this outfit. I've been missing him a little extra lately, and it's nice to have a little bit of him with me. I LOVE how this belt came out. It's very special.

Breeches: Horze Grand Prix
These are pretty old, and you've seen them plenty. But they're holding up great, and I love this shade of green.

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I mean, if you're gonna buy the pad, you should also get the socks. It just makes sense.

Boots: Horka
I've been wearing these a ton this summer. I think because there's been so much rain, and I don't mind getting these muddy since they kind of look muddy on their own... But also, they're super comfy.

And that's it for today! Any favorites? What do you think of hunt scene prints? Take it or leave it?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! It's pretty chilly today, but seasonally so. The misery comes in tomorrow. I'm still pretty well layered today though.

Am I wearing two sweaters? Yes. Yes I am. And also added both a vest and a coat for riding today. How many days till spring? Also, yes. This is how I look in the morning. Mornings aren't my favorite.

Helmet: Samshield
Yep, still wearing this. And you best believe that I will be putting the winter liner in for tomorrow's rides.

Sweaters: Asmar Equestrian
When I was on vacation a few weeks back it was very difficult to ignore all the after Christmas sales flooding my inbox. I may or may not have purchased a bunch of sweaters from Asmar. They aren't wool, but are still pretty warm. Cotton/cashmere blend... mostly cotton. I like that the sweaters come in matching colors so they layer really nicely. They're marked down to around $50 (some a little more, some a little less) and I think are a nice deal if you're in the market.

Belt: Tory Burch

It's shockingly tricky to match greens. But this belt is a pretty solid match today's sweaters. I like the Tory belts, they're similar to the Mane Janes (also similar to Hermes if you're fancy like that).

Breeches: Dover Wellesley

You guys all know by now that I'm a big fan of these breeches for the colder days. I think tomorrow I'll be busting out the corduroys, but these worked pretty well for today.

Boots: Celeris UK
Wore these again today, but yes, tomorrow I shall be busting out the furry boots. It is time.

Shiny is our model today, and her outfit... doesn't exactly match today. We can't be winners every week! Anyway, here's what she had on:

Bridle: Camelot RCS Gold
I should have used the spike browband bridle today. But I gotta tell you, it's nothing short of miraculous that I am on her in time for our 8:30 lesson. There was zero chance I would remember to grab the other bridle. And really... it kind of works with the rest of the mismatched outfit. (You'll see.)

Boots: Eskadron
I really like Eskadron brushing boots. These are such a pretty shade of green. I actually bought two pairs for everyone since they're limited edition. Figured this way I can keep a set in the trailer for schooling if and when we get to some away shows. Plus we'll have a back up for when inevitably these wear out.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Premier Equine
Quarter Sheet: Horze
Told you. We did not match very well today. I don't have the green quarter sheets at the barn this year. So we had to stick with navy for the back half. I think she was happy for the butt warmer. It was only 20 degrees in the indoor for our lesson. Ugh. Also, in case anyone is wondering, she wasn't quite herself this morning. I think she's a bit sore/stiff from her little stumble yesterday. So we opted to just do a flat lesson today and kept it light and easy for her. I'm sure she'll be feeling better in a day or two. Plus it's going to be a very light (if any) work weekend anyway due to the cold.

So that's it for today! I'm not sure yet what we're wearing next week, but I'm thinking it might be back to blues. Time will tell!
