Thursday's Threads: Peeps Edition

It's OUTFIT day! Did you think I skipped an Easter outfit since I'm Jewish and Passover overlapped this year? Well fear not. We have our Peeps finest for you today! Al is our main model today since he's well over due for a turn, but everyone got in on the fun so we'll have some extra photos at the end.

Here's what Al had on for Peeps day:

I've been throwing a little extra hay because our new load of Timothy weighs a lot less than the grass mix we usually get... But he's looking a lil' chonky so I may have to step back a bit on the extra. I imagine though, that as we get going with more work his weight will even out.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Homemade by me
Cap: Back On Track
Bunnies: Peeps
Honestly. He's so cute. I love his messy star.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Ippico
Baby pad: Ogilvy, embellished by me
It was no small task trying to find Peeps ribbon that had the chicks. I really can't say why, but I much prefer the Peeps chicks to the bunnies. It doesn't make any sense. If you offered me a real bunny or a real chick, I'd choose the bunny, no question. But marshmallow treats? Give me the chick. Every time. Yet for some reason, the vast majority of Peeps merch is in the form of the bunny. Thankfully someone out there made some chicks ribbon.

Boots: Premier Equine, embellished by me
I was less successful finding fabric with chicks. But I DID find pet bandanas that worked just as well for the boot straps.

That's what Al had on, and here's what I was wearing:

Sadly, I couldn't ride with the bunnies because the wind was insane this day. They'd have blown right off. And I can't imagine Al would appreciate bunnies hitting him on the butt.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS with MIPS
Bunnies: Peeps
I found this headband this year at Walmart, and it's definitely my favorite of our Peeps headbands. They're fuzzy!

Sweatshirt: Fun
I was disappointed when this arrived as it was advertised as a sweater, but it's not. I got over that though because it's so ridiculous and I love it. Also, it features CHICKS!

Belt: C4
C4 also came through with a chicks belt. I've had this a few years now, and I still love it so much!

Breeches: Dover Wellesley
Last year I paired this top with purple breeches, but I didn't love it. So I tried these this year, and I think it's much better.

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
Sneakers: Heelys
Had to wear the peeps sneakers out to the barn for today. But don't worry, I didn't get them dirty! Also, in this instance, the bunnies are definitely the appropriate choice for the tongue. But fear not, the chicks are featured on the sides. I've also accepted the bunnies on the socks. But if they made chicks next year, I'd defintely buy them. Just saying.

Boots: Celeris UK
I hummed and hawed about which boots to wear today. I almost chose the lilac ones, and I still think they'd be a great choice. But they are also still bleeding onto the saddle when I wear them, so I opted not to use them. I should find something to seal them with so I wear them more. Those and the mint ones. My pandemic boots. The only time my Celeris boots weren't perfect. Anyway. These pink ones work great for this outfit!

That's what we wore today! Here are some cute shots of Eros and Shiny with their bunnies too.

Shiny's bunnies are on springs, so I thought they might survive the wind. AND THEY DID!

Thursday's Threads: St Patrick's Day edition

Outfit Day!! You'll have to use your imagination a little with this one because we didn't get to actually ride in our St Patty's day outfit this year. We're going to use some old photos from our Pinsnickety photo shoot that the very talented Chelsea Lothrop took a few years ago for Eros' outfit. Here's what he would have worn this week if the weather had played nicer.

He would have been wearing his Joseph Sterling bridle with the Dark Jewel spiked browband. He has a cute Pinsnickety pin in his forelock in this photo.
He also would have been wearing his Butet saddle, this mattes pad, and that adorable Lettia baby pad. We probably wouldn't have had a number on though.

That's what the horses would have worn (more or less) and here's what I had on, because I did have high hopes that we might ride.
Nothing says St Patty's like green and gold! I really had no idea I'd get so much use of these $50 Winnie the Pooh colored breeches.

Sweater: Luyaa
This is one of my many inexpensive wool sweaters that are perfect for the barn. This one has a weird neck line though. I think it's stretched out. But whatever. Horse clothes don't have to be perfect.

Belt: Unbranded
Buckle: Ovation
I'm not sure what happened to the strap this belt actually came with, but I'm using it on this yellow one today. It doesn't look it here, but the belt and the breeches are pretty much the exact same shade.

Breeches: Vestrum
These are a ridiculous color for breeches. RIDICULOUS. But here we are. Loving them! Ha!

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I've had a few lucky themed boot socks over the years, but these are my favorites so far.

Since I didn't ride, I didn't wear boots or a helmet. But here's what I would have worn if I did.
Boots: TuffRider (embellished by me)
Helmet: Equinavia
I'm really impressed with how the glitter paint has held up on these boots over the years. Makes me want to paint more boots... but I won't. For now anyway. I'm looking into a fun new green helmet from Fair Play to possibly replace this one. I don't love how this helmet fits me so I hardly ever wear it. But I'm not sure the Fair Play one will be any better. It's really pretty though!

Okay that's it for this week! Any favorites? Anything you guys want to see soon? Themes, colors? Anything? Let me know in the comments!

Thursday's Threads: A Christmas Story Edition

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I technically do not celebrate Christmas as I am a full blooded Jewish person. But I'm always down for a good theme, and I love Christmas movies. So obviously it makes sense that I would have A Christmas Story themed outfit to wear for the holiday. I even used this theme for my holiday card one year. Love me a leg lamp! Haha! Shiny was our model today by default. I rode her first because conditions were iffy and she's the least likely to kill me. But she was even spooking so I opted out of riding the others. Fortunately, she is an excellent model! So here's what she had on:

The best model! Look how cute she is.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
I can't remember if I've shared these bitless bridles with you guys? I think I have. I wasn't happy with the La Cense ones I had. They were pretty to look at, but the leather quality was pretty bad and they didn't really fit my horses well. So I upgraded to these from Pinnacle and I'm really happy with them.

Bareback Pad: Brockamp
Saddle Pad and quarter sheet: Hopeful Equestrian
I haven't ridden my horses since Sunday and I felt perfectly safe to hop on Shiny in a bareback pad and bitless bridle. And that's why I am a grown ass woman with a pony. She's the best! You might have to click to enlarge this photo to really get the full effect of how cute this print is. It has the leg lamp AND the pink nightmare on it! I think the bb gun too. It's so fun!

Boots: DSB, embellished by me with some fabric from Spoonflower
Heehee. More leg lamp. Tis the season! Also, I'm still loving my interchangeable boot idea. I really need to get these on the market.

So that's what Shiny wore today for Christmas, and here's what I had on:
Fra-gee-lay! Hahahaha! I kill me.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS with MIPS
I thought this was the perfect option for this outfit.

Sweater: A Christmas Story
Oh yes, it absolutely does light up. At least for now. I did chores in it and rode in it today. The chances of the lights surviving me washing it are slim. It is impressive though, that I've had this sweater since 2019 and it still works!

Belt: C4
This belt came out several years ago, and I don't think I've ever added something to cart so fast in my life. It's so perfect.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman in color Cherry
Chaps: Journeyman
Paddock Boots: Celeris UK
I dunno guys, the weatherman said it would be less windy today, but it absolutely was not. One of my jumps blew over while I was on Shiny even. Ridiculous! Thank goodness for my warm chaps or I probably would not have braved the elements even on Shiny.

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I wear these Christmas poop socks almost every year. Do you all get the reference? South Park had a character named Mr Hanky the Christmas Poop. It's gross potty humor, but kinda funny, and I think of Mr Hanky every year when I clean stalls on Christmas. So obviously I needed to own Christmas poo socks. I've had them awhile, but since they only get worn once a year, they're lasting very nicely.

Okay, that's it for our silly A Christmas Story outfit. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday if you celebrate, or a lovely day off if you don't!

Thursday's Threads: Early Chanukah Edition

Chanukah starts really late this year. The first night is on Christmas. I'll be traveling, so I decided to do our Chanukah outfit early so I don't miss it! That would be terrible! It was Al's turn to model, and he did a great job. Here's what we had on:

I really need to remember to prop my phone up on the other side of the ring so it's not trying to focus through the sunlight. This is why I'm not a photographer! From this angle, I don't look AS short next to him as I am in real life. Haha! I didn't detail that vest I'm wearing below, but if you're wondering it's a million years old (roughly) from Calvin Klein.

Here's what Al wore this week:
He did his photo shoot yesterday when it was nice and we could be outside. Today was crazy windy and we got a ton of rain last night so the ring was too wet for riding in today. Back indoors we went!

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Homemade
These wooden bead brow bands are my favorites. I kind of hate making them because I do not have the attention span really required for sewing, but they come out so ridiculous and cute! Totally worth my boredom and stabbed fingers.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Equine Star
Half Pad: Ippico
I'm so glad I decided to have these fun saddle pads made when I was still gainfully employed. They are ridiculous in all the best ways.

Boots: Equine Star
I have the same feelings for the boots. I just love things that are silly. And these are definitely that.

That's what Al was wearing this week, and here's what I had on:

You know... if it was warmer it might be fun to go all out with some chanukah leggings instead of breeches... But it's not warmer so I didn't do that. Maybe next year!

Helmet: One K Avance CCS with MIPS
Been awhile since I've worn the navy helmet! Well, kind of. It HAD been awhile, but then I wore it Saturday for our card photos. I have the gold front shield and rails in, but I'm thinking maybe I need to get some silver at some point to match these boots.

Sweater: Tipsy Elves
When Tipsy Elves first launched I was SO excited that they had so much Chanukah stuff. Over the years they have expanded their product line to include various holidays all year long, and consistently create new Christmas sweaters. But you know what they don't do? New Chanukah stuff. It's really disappointing. Nothing new in several years, and there's a lot less Chanukah options for accessories and what not too. It's really unfortunate. It's great for my bank account, but it's pretty lame otherwise. Don't you want my money Tipsy Elves? No? Okay then....

Belt: Zazzle
You all know I love these belts from Zazzle. I really hope they get them back in stock. I'll be super sad if they're gone forever.

Breeches: Equiline
I believe this model is called Boston. They have knee patches that are the same material as the pants. They're sized differently than all my others though. Normally Equiline breeches are sold using Italian sizing and I wear right in between a 42 and 44. 42s are pretty snug, I'd say equivalent to TS 26 and the 44s are usually a little too loose. When I ordered these though, the drop down had them in US sizes so I chose 28 which is my usual TS size. When they arrived, the label said IT-46. The waist is a little big, but otherwise they fit nicely. So I have no idea what size they really are. But I got them on sale for $75 which is a real steal, so who even cares?

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I think last year or the year before maybe, Dreamers and Schemers had Chanukah socks and I was so excited I bought both options. I'm not offended they didn't have any this year, because it doesn't look they did a holiday drop of any kind this season. Which is odd... I hope things are going okay over there because I love what they do.

Boots: Celeris UK
Chanukah is the perfect time to bust out the newish navy boots! I got these this summer and they were a sample pair that happened to be my size exactly. Love when that happens! They're really simplem all navy blue with just that little bit of silver piping on the top.

And that's it! What do you think? Are you glad I didn't skip the Chanukah outfit?

Thursday's Threads

Oh man guys. I am the WORST blogger. I remembered outfit day this morning before I left the house... But I did not remember by the time I got to the barn. So I have several recycled photos. They are accurate representations of today's outfit though at least. So there's that. And my excuse is that I had an old friend come and visit me at the new barn and she rode Eros while I rode Al. We had so much fun, and thus I was not thinking about outfit photos. Life happens! Also, can I just talk about how nice it is that my friends can come and ride with me at the new barn? It's so nice. SO NICE!

Today's model was Eros, and here are his recycled photos of today's outfit.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow Band: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

He just looks so handsome in this bridle. Supermodel status!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Baby Pad: Ogilvy

I've been riding E in Al's saddle the last couple of months because I haven't gotten his fixed yet, but he did in fact use this one (his own) today with my friend because we couldn't share a saddle and ride at the same time. I really need to send this one off though! I reached out today to follow up on that. Hopefully that will be happening soon.

Wraps: Eskadron
I'm really liking the climatex polos for Eros. He seems comfortable in them too.

So that's what Eros had on and here's what I was wearing today:
There's a lot happening this photo. First, wonder when the last time I dusted this mirror was? Seems like a long, LONG time ago. Secondly, what is happening with the shoe pile back there? Honestly. I need a parent to come scold me for my messy/dirty room.

Helmet: One K Avance MIPS
Yes, still using this photo. I did dust the helmet off though, so might be time for a new stock photo... Lol.

Sweater: J Crew
I snagged this wool blend sweater at J Crew last year after the holidays for like $15. Such a great deal! If they had more colors I'd have stocked up! Also, it's winter here now so this sweater was layered with a puffy vest to ride and a coat on top of all of it when I wasn't riding. Brrr.

Belt: Ponylocks
I chose Jampy's belt for today's outfit. It's so pretty. I just love what they do over there at Ponylocks.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I've been wearing these smaller sized breeches a bit more often lately and I think they actually fit pretty well. I just wish the waist part was like a half inch bigger.

Socks: Dreamers And Schemers
My logo socks are still my favorites.

Boots: Celeris
Chaps: Journeyman
And one last reused photo! This one was from last winter. Yep, it's been chilly so I've been riding in the full chaps again! I love them. I don't really know why we all stopped wearing them. They're SO warm! And so grippy. I hope these things survive another 28 years! (Yes, they are really that old, but they took a long sabbatical.)

And that's it for today! Any favorites? Any requests for upcoming Thursday's Threads?
