Thursday's Threads

No running outfit today since I'm a lazy slacker this week. Next week though, I will be back at it. 4 on the Fourth is approaching quickly! I'm cheating a little today since I am driving back up to the horse show. Here's what I wore YESTERDAY to work!
I really love summer. I love tanks and breezy outfits. Love love love! Let's look closer:

Top: Max Studio
I found this one when I was in Florida in March. It's such a perfect top. It's loose and flowy but doesn't make you look like you're with child. Good find!

Pants: Buffalo Jeans
These are the best pants. They're an odd color green... not hunter, not teal... I'm not sure what you'd call it, but it's really pretty.

Shoes: Lilly for Target
Yep... these are my black market flip flops. You'll recall I struck out completely in trying to get some of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target Collaboration. But I did find these being sold via Instagram. The seller wasn't being totally greedy so I bought them. They're adorable. But honestly, not the most comfortable. Please excuse my gross feet. I need a pedi desperately.

Arm Party:
Lefty:
This is one of my favorite ebay finds... A "Gucci" bangle! It's hard to see but there is a green stripe under that red one. Very cute! And of course my trusty watch.

Righty:
First is a stretch bracelet that I strung in the winter when I had time for such things. Next is a leather and chain bracelet from Ettika. They recently had a huge sale and I may or may not have stocked up on bracelets that I don't need... Oops. Can't pass on a great deal though! Last is a bangle I found on Zulilly. I love the green stone pendant on it!
That's what I'm wearing today I wore yesterday! What are you wearing? Find any new bargains lately?

Thursdays Threads

Happy Thursday! It's time for another edition of Thursday's Threads! My favorite post! Woohoo!
We'll start with my riding outfit from last night:
I kept it simple with a solid polo and tan breeches. Let's look closer!
Top: Express
This polo shirt is REALLY OLD! I also have it in navy. They're from Express and I love that they are longer than normal polo shirts. Thus, they stay tucked in. No matter the rise on  your breeches!

Belt: Gucci
I think I showed this one to you last week too. Simple, leather, classic.

Breeches: Ariat
These are older also. They don't have the Euro seat that is popular today for breeches, but for schooling at home I don't really care about that. These are very comfy, and I kind of wish I had more of them.

Boots: Parlanti
Slowly but surely getting these babies broken in! I really want to show in them at Saratoga, but some days they make my feet fall asleep... (Someone needs to lose a few lbs... <<sigh>>)
Jampy wanted to share his outfit too:
Saddle pad: Lettia baby pad
Half pad: Mae Equestrian
Saddle: Hermes Essentielle
 Bridle: Da Vinci
Ok now on to today! I met up with Vanessa this morning for our run. I've been avoiding shorts due to an unfortunate chaffing incident on my 10 miler... But this morning was pretty warm and VERY humid, so I decided to take my chances.

It's always a good idea to wear bright colors for your morning run! Those half asleep drivers need to see you!
Top: Nike
I like these tanks. They're very light weight but not see through. Even when I sweat like a man.
Shorts: Hind
I really love the 2-in-1 shorts as I've mentioned before. The inner shorts on this particular pair is a little looser than I like, and they tend to ride up a bit, but they're not awful. Better for shorter runs though.
I won't bore you with my sneakers since you've seen them a million times by now. We'll move on to my work outfit!

Springy and flowy today! I was in the mood to wear some pink. It's kind of overcast today, so the day needs a little brightening.

Top: Max Studio
I lean more toward preppy than bohemian generally... but I love this top! It's simple, yet pretty, and works well with my loud colored pants.

Pants: Vintage Havana
Not a great shot is it? I was trying to show you the tan colored stitching on these, but I think I failed at that. You'll have to take my word that it's there! These jeans are pretty fab. They have just the right amount of stretch and the color is fun!

Shoes: Sperry Top Sider
Um... I accidentally bought more Sperry's... Rue La La was having a shoe sale. It happens. How do you NOT buy sequin covered boat shoes? Especially when they're pink, silver, AND gold? No really, how? Because clearly I need an intervention.

Arm party:
Left:
Ok so last week I said all my jewelry is fake. That's not entirely true. MOST of it is but not all. This gorgeous leather wrap bracelet was a gift from my dad and stepmom and it is the real deal straight from Hermes in NYC. I love it so much! My trusty watch was left to me in a will, so that bad boy also is real. The little bangle however is costume.

Right:
These on the other hand (literally and figuratively... I'm so punny!) are inspired designs I found on Ebay. I thought the glitter bangle was perfect with my new Sperry's!

So those are all my outfits today. What are you wearing? What's your favorite from today's assortment?

Thursday's Threads: Travel Edition

I'm in FLORIDA! With too many suitcases, but whatever. I'm here!!!! I'm a firm believer that when traveling one must be comfortable, yet not schleppy. Unless you're traveling overnight, then by all means, wear a track suit. But make sure it's a nice one. So here's today's travel outfit (my apologies for not having a mirror):

Jeans, a nice looking T, and well I had shoes on... More on that later. We'll start with the sweatshirt that was shed prior to picture taking:
Sweatshirt: Forever 21
Nothing too fancy, but it has horses on it. That makes it the best sweatshirt ever. Duh. It's nice also because it's pretty light weight. No dying of heat stroke while walking through the Palm Beach Airport.

T-shirt: Max Studio
I'm pretty sure you've seen this one before. I wear it a lot. It's one of my faves. This top lays perfectly no matter what's happening underneath it (for instance the addition of a fat roll or two...). It's comfy and cotton and doesn't require ironing. Maybe one of the best shirts ever made.

Pants: Vigold Jeans
Look at those thighs! WHOA. Just to be clear, they're not large, they're sturdy. Anyway, back to the pants. These are my go-to comfy jeans. They're super stretchy. I have two other pairs in a lighter shade of blue too. They fit with or without the extra 15 lbs I'm carrying, without even showing my fat! I bet these were the pants from that movie Sisterhood of the Traveling pants.

Shoes: Sperry's
I loved these shoes when I found them on sale for super cheap. LOVED THEM! It's hard to see from the photo, but the tan part around the foot opening is a goldish colored canvas. ADORABLE! And really rough. Like REALLY rough. So much so that I couldn't take better photos because they made me bleed. Through my socks, onto the shoes. I knew they were rubbing some, but I did not realize they were mortally wounding me! RIP socks. At least I travel with cute bandaids:
Belt: Ralph Lauren
I know you've all see this one before. It gets plenty of use. I bet come summer it will be a staple!

Bag: Tory Burch
This Tory Burch tote was meant to be my new horse show bag, but it's also the perfect carryon size. It's big enough for my laptop and necessities, but not so big I have to CRAM it under the seat. Perfect! Plus it has ponies on it.

Arm Party:
Left:
I was in a hurry trying to get out of the house this morning and didn't realize until, well, now, that I should have reversed the bracelets. These should have gone on righty, and righty's little lone one should have gone with my trusty watch. Oh well. Next time! You've seen all these before... Photo bracelet, Hermes wrap bracelet (A REAL ONE!), and my trusty time piece.

Right:
See what I mean? Righty is kind of bare with only this lone Tory Burch bracelet. I just got this one on sale from their website. Literally, it came yesterday in the mail. Just in time for my trip! Yay!

So that's it from here in (partly) Sunny Florida! Ok, it's raining right now, but the sun was out when I got here. Whatever, it's still better than the cold rain at home! Did I mention it's 83 degrees? No? Oh, well it's 83 degrees! Home is 48. This is better. I think I'll stay.

What are you wearing today? Warm or cold where you are? Hope you're having a great week!

Thursday's Threads: Hipster Edition

Arg. The snow has, once more, messed up my outfit plans. But I think I made a decent last minute decision. Given my dark mood from all this miserable weather, I went for the hipster look today.

Nothing says thunder thighs like a pair of plaid skinny jeans. No bother though, I'm owning my chunk curves. One needs insulation in this tundra!
This outfit is full of great deals too! I'll tell you all about it....

Top: Max Studio
$12.00 Marshalls Clearance
This linen top, I'm ashamed to admit, was buried in my closet. I just discovered it recently with its tags still on! I like the open weave and the fit. It's longer in the back than in the front, which I appreciate.
Pants: Rue 21
$3.20
I LOVE the olive color of these pants. And the plaid is super fun. I almost didn't get them because, well, like I said earlier, nothing says thunder thighs like plaid skinny pants. But for $3.20 I couldn't really pass them up. I'm glad I didn't. I think they're fun, and they fit great too.

Belt: Unknown Brand
Ebay: 19.95
I've had this one for a few years. I love crocodile-look leather and things that are shiny. All of my favorite things! Plus it's green. Had to have it. BB Simon sells similar belts for hundreds of dollars. So $19.95 was a steal!

Arm Party:
Lefty:
The bracelet is one I strung together a few weeks ago. It's matches perfectly with these crazy pants! And you'll all recognize my trusty watch.

Righty:
The first three are leather bangles with gold bars. I actually got them from Julep awhile back. I thought there were more of them, but I could only find 3 this morning. Next is a friendship bracelet from Shashi. I LOVE their bracelets, but they are pretty expensive. This one came from Gilt.com so it wasn't too pricey. Last is a bracelet from Nakamol, which I got for a few dollars when Little Black Bag closed up shop.

Boots: Passions
Seriously, who names these brands? These boots have those studs on the back too, arranged in a star shape. Super cute, but since you can't see it with my pants over them, I didn't bother taking a photo. They are faux leather which is perfect for the conditions outside today. Every time I think about getting rid of my non-leather shoes, we get more snow to remind me that they do in fact serve a useful purpose.

I also added a scarf, just for while I'm outside today. One of my friends made this for me as a thank you for putting her up for a few nights during a horse show.
It's chunky and warm and wonderful! Such a great gift!

What are you wearing today? Still snowing where you are too? No? Well come take some of mine!

We got to see the sun this weekend!!!

I mentioned last week that we hadn't seen the sun here in FOREVER. Thankfully it was out full force for the majority of the weekend. AND it was in the forties (which is warmish for this time of year). That makes for a happy Stacie, and a lovely weekend.
Saturday was super busy. I was up and out of the house by 7 to feed and turnout the horses. While they were out I cleaned their stalls. I was done by 11 so I could meet up with my friend Tracy and take a lesson with her at the barn where she rides. I'm sorry to say I forgot to take pictures of the adorable little mare I got to ride. But I had SO MUCH FUN! I'm really enjoying getting to ride some different horses. And it's really making me aware of all the habits I've accumulated by riding only my own horses. Apparently I assume all horses drift left, and can't understand why my distance doesn't work out when the horse I'm riding actually goes straight... Ok, I totally understand. But I still let it happen anyway. This is why I'm an amateur.
I had enough time after riding to get home, feed my four legged kids, and get showered and dressed for my company holiday party. For the last few years it's been held at the Fox Hopyard.

I actually look forward to the party every year. The food there is amazing, and it's nice to see the coworkers in a social setting once in awhile. Here's what I wore:

Dress: Max Studio
Shoes: Nine West

Necklace: From Little Black Bag, I forget the brand... sorry!
 Watch: Betsey Johnson
Confession... the watch under that jewel isn't actually working... shhhhh don't tell!
Bracelets: From Little Black Bag
Ring: Family heirloom
 Wristlet: Prada
From my dad, he has amazing taste.
It was a fun evening. I stuffed myself full of delicious food. And in true old lady fashion, was home by 10:45. In my jammies by 11. It was a long day, but full of fun things!

Sunday I was spoiled, as I had a helper in the barn. My plan was to sleep in and then get breakfast in town at The Villager. But I woke up at 7. Go figure. I lounged around for a bit before heading out for breakfast. Ran a few errands after that and was back at the homestead by 1. I let the dogs out, then spent a few hours giving the horses some much needed extensive grooming. I don't know how they get so dirty when they are wearing blankets. They really are good at what the do! The remainder of the day was dedicated to laundry mostly. And wrapping a few presents. Here's one of the gifts for my mom:
Dad's getting one too, only his frame is navy. He doesn't like green. How handsome is Rio in this picture?! Makes me miss summer SO MUCH!
The chores were done by 9 pm and the pugs got some much deserved cuddle time. I shall leave you with some adorable photos of the short kids:

Hope you all had a great weekend too!
