I've been trying to make an effort to make something yummy every weekend to have for snacks during the week. Sometimes it's brownies or banana brad muffins, sometimes it's popsicles. This weekend was popsicles and Chex mix.
These are Nutella pops and they're delicious |
Obviously, that's not a confession. My confession is that I made the Chex mix on Friday night and I've already eaten all of it. That's A LOT. Seriously. It's 9 cups of cereal plus the other ingredients. I don't know what it is about that stuff, but once I start eating it, I can't stop. So I really shouldn't make it anymore. But like... it's so good.
So you have any snacks you can't be trusted around? Tell me about them... but maybe don't share the recipe because, clearly, I have no self control.
My current "not to be trusted around" snack is this brand of pretzels called Dot's. I can only find them locally at Menards and they're like $5 a bag but I could seriously inhale one in a single setting. I don't know what it is, its like they're dusted with crack or something. SOOOOOO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteCrack dusted anything is hard to resist...
DeleteUgh yes, everyone is requesting I bake cookies for them and I seriously need them to take all the cookies because I just eat them all!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to send some cookies this way...
DeleteI've been wanting to make some cookies. But I also know I will eat all of them. Obviously. I'm the only one here.
oooh so during quarantine i started getting into making enormous batches of "trail mix" (basically, nuts, raisins, and some sort of candy), then would have to resist the temptation to just snarf it all down immediately. turns out, tho, esp since there's no cooking required, it's a little bit easier on my will power to just mix individual portions one at a time.
ReplyDeleteSeparating into single servings is actually really helpful!
DeleteI can't be trusted around any of the snacks, if we're being honest LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah... same. It's so hard to resist delicious things!
DeletePopcorn, popped in the airpower with olive oil and sea salt is my drug of choice at the moment ;)
ReplyDelete*air-popper* lol
DeleteOh! That sounds delicious! And it's not too bad for you either!
DeleteI have found a solution to "can't be trusted with..." and it is the Kitchen Safe. Apparently it was a Shark Tank thing. It's basically an Oxo container with a locking lid. I put the dark chocolate and pita chips in it, spin the dial for 24 hours, and presto! It does not open until then. If you can summon the willpower to remove only one serving and then re-lock it, you are 'safe' for that long.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! That's amazing!
