What's Up Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's finally a gorgeous day here in CT. It's in the 70's and the sun is out! Can you believe it?! I can't believe it.
As you probably already read via Truthful Tuesday, I didn't have a very productive week with the equines. So I guess this will be a short post. And not much about horses.
I think first I should share the most exciting news: I became an Auntie for the second time on Friday night! My sister-in-law went into labor on Friday morning and my brother was updating the family via group text throughout the day. My favorite was this one:

My mom and I went to meet little Ellie Saturday morning:

Here we are discussing when to get a pony.

In other big news, I am going to be a contributing reviewer over at Beeju Boxes! Beeju will be sending me some Lego boxes to review to get started which I'm pretty excited about. I will also be reviewing some of the subs that I've talked about here like Nicole's Creations and maybe Heart to Horse box. We shall see! But definitely check out Beeju Boxes if you're curious about any sort of subscription boxes. Beeju features all kinds from Korean Beauty to Kawaii, to snacks, to stationary... Seriously, everything.

GTO is back in CT! He's staying with trainer lady for a bit, but eventually he'll come home. I can't wait to ride him this weekend!!! Oh and also, I discovered he's turning FIVE in June, not 6... So he's even more advanced than I thought.
Old photo, because I haven't gotten to see him yet
Today is Romey's 7th birthday!
Happy Birthday Romes!

I have some random horse stuff to talk about too. As mentioned, the vet was out Friday for what I like to call spring maintenance. On the docket was Jamp's paranoia, Romey's allergies, and Rio's sore foot. And here are some things we came up with:
Jamp likely has neurological lyme disease. This doesn't normally show up in a titer, which is why his looks fine when we do the test. But it does tend to make the horses kind of nutty and spooky. We put him on Doxy though an IV antibiotic  might be more effective. We discussed that route, but decided to try the Doxy first.
he's stuffing his face WHILE napping. Goals.

For Romey, my vet recommended starting him on local honey. He gets 2 tablespoons (or 30 cc's if you use a syringe to measure) twice a day in his feed. I'm a little jealous... Honey is delicious! He's been on that since Saturday, and I noticed that he's coughing less already. My vet also noticed that where his hives are on his neck is exactly where my reins are rubbing on him. So off came the pretty leather reins and on went a rubber pair. The hives are shrinking already too! I can't believe I didn't notice that on my own... Slacking mom right here!

And for Rio, my vet thinks he just needs a rim pad to lift the shoe away from the sole of his foot a little. Also, he said Rio needs to lose a few lbs... Who doesn't?
Rio's idea of a diet... Salad! amiright?
The puggers have been about as happy with the weather as I have...
snuggling for warmth

And the last bit of what's up is well... these socks:
Why yes, those are pugs riding unicorns. I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but I'm really glad they do. REALLY GLAD!
What's up with you this Wednesday? Any big happenings in your world?

Nicole's Creations: January, February, and March

http://www.nicolescreations.net/
Rather than do individual posts to catch up, I'm throwing three months worth of Nicole's Creations at you all at once! Hope you're ready to be jealous of my pretty new bracelets! But first... the details.
For those not in the know, Nicole's Creations offers a monthly subscription service that delivers handmade jewelry to your door each month. There are two options, $10 per month or $20. I went with the less expensive option, and let me tell you, I get MORE than my moneys worth. Not only do I receive beautiful hand made items each month, but Nicole pops over here to the blog to see what my style is currently. I love that she takes the time to personalize the sub for me.
Ok, down to business. Here's what I received in January:

And indvidually:

As always, the bracelets are sized PERFECTLY for me. They are so well made, and beautiful! They look fantastic alone, but I love that they stack together too.
On to February!
February is my anniversary month with Nicole's Creations! Nicole is so sweet she gave me a bonus bracelet to celebrate! Here is everything up close:

I love the green she used! It was perfect for St Patty's day, and for any day really. The bead on that chain bracelet is so beautiful, I couldn't get a photo to do it any justice. You'll just have to trust me. Here they are all stacked together:

And last but most definitely not least... March!
If you follow me on Instagram (you really ought to...) you saw a sneak peak of these already. I can't believe Nicole stumbled across the charms! I'm so excited she got them for me! I seriously love these bracelets... Dare I say it? I think these may be my favorite so far. Because I was rushing, and didn't photo with my normal black background the color isn't showing accurately here. These are kind of a mossy green and beige not gray and white like they appear. SO PRETTY! I love all the greens. All of them!
Let's look closer:

Obviously these can stand alone or even match up with some gold bangles. But they look amazing together too:
I'm so impressed with the fit of all the bracelets from the last three months. Well no. All the months ever really. Nicole is amazing at her craft. Every piece is so unique and gorgeous.

I say it every month (literally), but I'm really impressed with how Nicole personalizes this subscription. She does a great job designing pieces she knows I will love. Not only that, but she's such an artist! Everything is extremely well made and fits PERFECTLY!

What do you think of my new bracelets from Nicole? Which is your favorite? Have you tried out the sub yet? If you would like to try it, or even just browse the shop online, head over here to see what Nicole's Creations is all about!

Heart to Horse Box: December

I'm catching up on all the subs today! Heart to Horse Box had a great holiday themed December box! Heart to Horse Box is a horsey subscription that you can order either as a one time box or as a monthly delivery. I opted for the sub since I like presents. You save a little each month that way too. This sub is unique in that it includes something for the horse AND something for the rider each month. My favorite part is that 25% of sales each month is donated to a local charity. This month's charity recipient is Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue. They seem to be a favorite as they've been the recipient the last many months.

The information card shows everything included in the box on one side, and has a coupon plus some information about the charity on the other side. I love seeing photos of actual horses who are being helped by the proceeds. Let's see what was in this month's December's box!
For the Horse:
Mrs. Pastures Cookies
Treats! In an adorable stocking. I love that this was included. I actually gave these out to my horsey friends this year, so I was extra excited to get one back!

Cowboy Magic Green Spot Remover
This stuff really is magic. I don't currently have a gray horse, but when I did, this was a must have! It still is really since Rio LOVES to get poo on his sock. I can't believe it's full size! What a great thing to get!

Tail Brush
One can never have too many of these! I love this particular model as I can use it for my hair too. Don't pretend like you don't borrow your horse's tail brush after a particularly sweaty day in your helmet!

For the Rider:
The Noble Outfitters Wine Down Hoof Pick
Obviously when I discovered this existed I bought it right away. But that doesn't mean a second one is welcomed! Now I can keep one in my show trunk AND one in the truck. Because they aren't always in the same place at the same time.

Horse Hair bracelet making kit
I keep saying I'm going to send some of Rio's tale hair off to be made into a fancy bracelet. Now I can make my own! I'll probably still have one made that will be much more fancy that I can do, but this should hold me over until then.

Gift bag
This is a really pretty gift bag, and though I did not wind up using it this year for the holidays, one of my friends may end up seeing it at a birthday!

Extra:
This isn't at all useful on its own, but it was actually interesting to see in person. This is a tine for the fancy new pitchfork that Noble Outfitters sells. It's called the wave fork. It's very light weight, and you can pick your colors to build your fork. Supposedly it's very durable and not likely to break, but if it does, you can replace individual tines rather than the whole fork. I haven't yet decided if I'll get one, but the coupon and the sample were a welcome inclusion in the box!

Once again, this was a great box! I didn't do a cost breakdown, but I feel like I really did get my moneys worth again this month. The hoof pick alone retails for 19.99 which is more than half the price of the box.

I already can't wait for January's box! It ships this week... woohoo! If you're interested in trying Heart to Horse Box, head over here and check it out. That's not a referral link. As far as I know they do not have any referral incentives. If they do, someone tell me so I can cash in!

Nicole's Creations: December

Ah! I'm so behind with sharing my subs! I just got notification that my next shipment is en route from Nicole's Creations and I haven't written about December yet! Sorry! Better late than never!

As per the norm, I absolutely LOVE what I received this month in December. Here, I'll show you!

Please excuse the pug hair in the photo... that did not come with the bracelets! I LOVE these colors both on their own AND together! The bottom is a gorgeous purple with gray beads, and the top is the reverse. Nicole's work is so precise these almost look like they were made on a loom or by a machine. So impressive! Here they are individually:

These photos looked a whole lot better on my phone than they do here... I really need to get that fancy new camera up and running!

I say it every month (literally), but I'm really impressed with how Nicole personalizes this subscription. She does a great job designing pieces she knows I will love. Not only that, but she's such an artist! Everything is extremely well made and fits PERFECTLY!

Heart to Horse Box: November

It's been a little while since I've done a Heart to Horse Box review, but I have to tell you, they're getting better each month! Heart to Horse Box is a horsey subscription that you can order either as a one time box or as a monthly delivery. I opted for the sub since I like presents. You save a little each month that way too. This sub is unique in that it includes something for the horse AND something for the rider each month. My favorite part is that 25% of sales is donated to a local charity. This month's charity recipient is Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue. They seem to be a favorite as they've been the recipient the last few months.
I was a little worried when I opened the box this month because of those oil spots... I was quite worried something might have spilled all over. But thankfully that was not the case. What it actually was completely surprised me!
Can you guess hat made the oil spots?? Can you??
This:
Yep! That's a real leather lead rope with a nice long chain from Weaver Leather. Seriously this is worth what I paid for the box all on its own. Color me impressed.

Heart to Horse Box also included a tasty treat for the rider this month. Mmmm chocolates. One could give this is as a gift or bring to a party for the hostess. But I'm just going to stuff them all in my face.
This blingy brush is really cute. I may stick this one in the trailer. It's too fancy for at home!

I was super excited to find these adorable cookie cutters in the box. I'm such a fan of this month's for the rider theme... all snacks all the time! But seriously, these are just in time for holiday cookie making. Horse cookies are festive right?

Heart to Horse Box usually includes a little extra each month, and this time it was this lip balm. Perfect now that the weather has turned. My lips will be chapped from now until April so this is definitely useful!
On the information card is a photo of Karma who was rescued by Gentle Giant Draft Rescue. I really appreciate that they give us a face that we're helping each month with our purchase!
This was another great month from Heart to Horse Box. I will use all of the items. I missed reviewing a few boxes, but in one of them was a rope halter with attached lead. This is perfect for working with Romey on the ground. It's like Heart to Horse Box knows exactly what I need sometimes... It's almost creepy! I'm just really impressed with the variety and the quality of what is included each month. I will keep subscribing to this one for awhile!

If you're interested in trying Heart to Horse Box, head over here and check it out. That's not a referral link. As far as I know they do not have any referral incentives. If they do, someone tell me so I can cash in!
