Thursday's Threads

You Northern New Englanders may not like today's outfit... BUT I DO! Go Yankees! (Though they do kind of suck this year...) For the horses' outfit, I'm not revealing who made the pads and boots for me because, well... we aren't officially licensed ya know? So mums the word on that. You can probably figure it out based on other things I've had done in the past.  Normally I try to play by the rules with stuff like that, but the Yankees don't make horse stuff for me to buy so I had to do what I had to do... Alright, let's see what we all wore!

Now that I know Shiny has a good fitting saddle, I could probably try using some regular pads on her. But I have all these built in half pad ones for her, so I probably won't.

Bridles: Joseph Sterling
Browbands: ME! I made those!
Okay, so the browbands are definitely "schooling quality", but I was pretty happy with them for occasional use. Here they are not on a bridle:

I just got leather strap the same width of this ribbon I found. Glued on the ribbon with flexible fabric glue, trimmed the ends, and used Chicago screw rivets with balls on the end for easy removal.  I did have snaps which I could have used, but these look nicer and are just as easy to use. I used the same bridles that my spike browbands are usually on. And well... now that I know how easy these are to do, maybe I'll make some others in the future. I think they came out cute!

Saddles: Shiny-Custom Saddlery, Eros-Butet
Saddle Pads: Shiny-Mattes, Eros I'm not telling and the half pad is Ippico

Cute right? I found baseball images/logos online and made a little pattern that I had printed on Eros' pad and the boots you'll see shortly. I have a few other designs on my list to get made. I have to spread them out as the budget allows. But I have a few I'm really excited to get done!

Boots:
I really wish I could make this stuff myself. But how fun are these boots?!

And here's what I wore:
I didn't really how washed out this photo was when I took it, sorry! But you can get the idea.

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS Wide Brim
So this is actually the navy with rose gold helmet, but I replaced the rose gold rail and navy front shield with this lighter blue color. I really bought it for the other barn, but for now it's home with me.

Tee: MLB Shop
This tee was from Derek Jeter's final season before retiring. The last of the Core Four. I got to meet him briefly when we were vacationing in the same place many years ago!

Belt: Vineyard Vines
Prior to Vineyard Vines making this perfect Yankees belt, I was wearing one with an enormous western style buckle when I went to games. I like this one much better.

Breeches: Halter Ego
Admittedly, I bought these in the wrong size and they're a little big, though a trip through the dryer has helped a little. If you get a pair, size down! These are my normal size, but they run big. I love the marble look to them, and the bright blue accents are super fun.

Boots: De Niro Salentino
These are the pair I found on sale at Equiport in stock and in my size! Fate boots. I'm a big fan of them. The only reason I don't wear them more is that they have a thinner sole than my Celeris boots, and I have to shorten my stirrups when I wear them. And I'm painfully lazy. So yeah. The fit is perfect on these though, just as good as my customs! Actually, they're better since my customs are all a little too loose these days.

That's it for today! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads: Autumn edition

Outfits will be a lot more tame once I move over to the boarding barn for the winter. So I figured I should go all out for this one. And guys... I really outdid myself here. DEFINITELY went too far. And I have zero regrets.

The photos with the horses really didn't come out very well. It was just too dark out. But that one with Eros is kind of amazing with the moon, isn't it? Let's start with their outfits today.

I know. We've done candy corn a few times now. But listen. I own all this candy corn crap so you'll probably see it again next year too! But also... I definitely added a lot to previous outfits.

Saddles: Butet for both
Pads: I can't remember who made these... sorry!

That pad on Shiny wound up being kind of a nightmare. First off, it didn't arrive when it was supposed to back when I bought it, so I ordered the one on Eros as well. It arrived immediately. Eventually, this one on Shiny did show up. But it's kind of small and dressage cut so it doesn't really fit any saddles. (The one I ordered was not dressage cut...) I figured I'd try it for Shiny and it was okay. Think I'll try and sell it though if anyone is interested.

Boots: Horze with duct tape embellishments

Finding duct tape that matched my saddle pad was one of the highlights of my life. Wait till you see what else I did with it...

Bridles: M. Toulouse
Browbands: homemade
Bonnets: Etsy

I was planning to sell these bridles because I didn't like them that much... but now I've decided to keep them for dress up. As for the browbands, I took the ones I hated from the La Cense sidepulls and wrapped them in candy corn ribbon. So I'm glad I found a purpose for them! And also why you'll be seeing candy corn for years to come. Gotta use this stuff! I made the horses take photos with the bonnets, but they both seemed pretty annoyed by them so I took them off to ride. Cute though, right?!

Okay my turn!
Hahahahaha! Told ya. I overdid it.

Helmet: One K MIPS
I can't bring myself to deface a helmet, so I left this one alone. I had time deciding which to wear. Finally, since none really matched I just went with the safest one.

Sweatshirt: Teepublic
Yeah. I fell victim to a targeted Facebook ad. It happens. I'm getting big time Shiny vibes from that pony, what can I say?

Belt: C4
Matches my duct tape. BOOM!

Breeches: Homemade (Okay home-embellished)

I took a cheapo pair of black pants and then went all 8 year old on them. So I found some printed vinyl that matched all my stuff. Cut it into knee patch shapes and used stretch fabric glue to stick them on. (Who wants to sew? Not me.) Then I glued on the candy corn patches and took the ribbon that was left over from the browbands to trim the back pockets. I figured they'd be toast by the time I finished riding both horses, but they're still completely in tact. We'll see how they make out in the washer and dryer though... figure that might be the end of them. If not? You'll see them again next year. Ha!

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
Sneakers: HJSHG
Um. Yeah. I definitely did also get the matching mask. But since I was home I didn't use it yet. Maybe when I ride Pammon on Halloween!

Boots: Tuffrider Regal

I did not intend to deface any boots for this outfit... But then I saw this pair of Regals that are pretty close to the end of their days anyway... So I did it. NO REGRETS my friends! Plus it's just duct tape. I can remove it. I think they're kind cute this way though. Maybe should have done the toe part thinner?

Accessories!

Crop: Another relic laying around the barn

Someone should probably revoke my duct tape privileges. But seriously! Look at that! Hahahaha! I love it.

Phone case: Teepublic

What? It matched the hoodie! I needed it.

Arm Party!

Lefty:

I know you're surprised I don't have the apple watch band to match... Probably next year. For now, I 'm wearing these string bracelets from Etsy and that light up one from I'm not sure where. Admittedly, the light up one came off after photos. It was pretty annoying.

Righty:

Righty has on a stretch bracelet, the Fitbit, a fabric cuff that I made, and this adorable wire bangle I found on Etsy.

And that's it! Not sure how I'll top this next year if I keep with the candy corn theme.... But I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit Day everyone! It's still wintering here in the northeast, so I have no riding outfit to share. I was going to have a running outfit instead, but I overslept, so you don't get that either. But I do have a work outfit! And some fab boots to go with it...
As you can see, due to the freezing cold weather, I've basically given up on looking good. But the boots you guys!

Sweater: H&M
I love the variegated greens in this one. I saw it at H&M in Florida SUPER on sale, and I got grabby hands for it.

Jeans: Twentyone Black
These jeans are stupid comfy. They have lots of stretchy to them, and I think the zipper pocket is really cute.

Belt: Mane Jane
I know, you're probably getting tired of it already. Or are not so patiently waiting to see the flip side. Sorry guys, we'll get there soon, I promise!

Boots: Donald Pliner

Ahhhhh! Aren't they pretty?! They're hunter green with a bronze undertone, making them slightly metallic. I have an awesome hunter green leather jacket that goes really well, but it was too cold for it today. I have a confession about these boots... They're not exactly my size... By the time I discovered these, they were already closeouts. While I did find a pair in my size, it was a really expensive pair. I figured I could make the bigger pair work since they were $125 cheaper. So far so good. I may go get a nice thick inner sole for them, but I haven't fallen over my feet yet, so I don't think they're too bad.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is sporting my most favorite Gucci bit bracelet along with a really cute beaded bracelet with a pewter pug on it. I bid on that little guy at the Pug Rescue of New England charity auction. I was so happy to win him!

Righty:
Are you tired of my home made bracelets yet? I hope not. There are a lot more to come. I LOVED this metallic faux leather when I saw it online. I was pretty confident it would be cute with a pony clasp. Not to brag... but I was right. This one is a little more kelly green than hunter, but I have some hunter that just arrived that's very similar, so expect to see that soon!

And that's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on? Any favorites from today?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit DAY! Sorry I'm late, it's been a busy day at work and Romey had a visit from Doc. But I'm ready now! Let's see what I wore today:

Why, yes, that IS a Mario phone cover! Thanks for noticing. I wore green today, because well... I often wear green. But also because I was wanting to wear my green moto jacket. So I'll show you that first and then we'll get to my outfit.

Jacket: Black Rivet

I love the knit insert that comes with this jacket. You can zip it out if you don't like it (the hood goes along with it though), but I love it. This jacket is faux leather. I've been on the hunt for a similar one in real leather but haven't seen anything affordable. I found this one at the local Wilson's leather store. They're closing that one, so everything was 50% off. Making this around $40. That's in budget! Ok, now we can see my outfit up close.

Sweater: Rue 21
I love the mixed textures on this sweater. It has this basketweave look on the front, but the sleeves and the back are a smooth knit. My FAVORITE thing about this sweater? It was $1.00. Rue 21 has a rack of sweaters and long sleeve shirts on sale 5 for $5. Making each of those five items $1.00. Can't beat that!

Jeans: LC Lauren Conrad
I definitely don't go out of my way to buy celebrity fashion lines... But I found these jeans at Kohl's last year on sale and I loved the color. They're a coated denim. I think the coating is black but the pants are blue, making these a neat sort of midnight color.

Belt: No brand

This is one of my go-to belts! I got the green strap on ebay, so it doesn't have a brand. It is real leather though! My H buckle fits it perfectly.

Shoes: Kickers
I forget where I actually got these. They're really soft suede and ridiculously comfortable. You've seen them before, I've had them quite awhile.

Arm Party:
Lefty:
I've been keeping it home made on the wrists lately. Lefty here is sporting one of my new horse bracelets that I made along with my trusty apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is wearing a wrap bracelet that I made along with my Rio bracelet. I love that photo bead I made using the prisma app. I might have also put that same image on a coffee mug...

And that's what I'm wearing today. No riding outfit since it's been about a hundred years since I sat on a horse. We're getting 5 inches of snow tomorrow and a possible blizzard on Tuesday, so I don't think that will change any time soon. Wah. #ihatethisweather

What are you wearing today? How's the weather where you are?
