Thursday's Threads

Happy Fake Friday! Well... for those of us with 9-5, M-F sort of jobs anyway. I'm excited for the long weekend!
I have two outfits to share today. No running outfit though. Not that I didn't run, I DID! But I wore the same thing as last week, so no need to share.
Let's start with today's work outfit:
I went a little crazy with these pants... They're ridiculous but I love them! Note both short kids casually photo bombing in the background.

Top: Andrea Jovine
I'm having an impossible time getting the color of this top to photograph with my phone... You'll have to trust me that it's a dusty pink color. I love the beading along the hems, giving it that girly-but-edgy feel.
Pants: Hudson
Obviously these are a throwback to the fabulous 80's! I love everything about these pants... the PINK acid wash, the skinny legs, the ZIPPERS! I hadn't worn them yet this year because I was a little... well. Larger than they were. But having spent those couple of weekends at the horse show, I'm fitting back into them. Phew!
Shoes: Wanted
These were on the blog a few times last summer I think. They too are a dusty pink color, and I love the spikes on them. Although, they are shockingly sharp, must pay attention while wearing them!

My eye is still super swollen from the bee sting on Tuesday, so I'm sporting an added accessory today:
Good side
Puffy side
My Kate Spade glasses! Do I look extra smart today?

Arm party:
Left:
Lefty is super fun today. First is a light pink and copper Nakamol that I had gotten from Little Black Bag back in the day. Next is my trusty watch. That adorable pink bracelet with the turtle bead is one of my own creations, and last is a ribbon bracelet from Ettika.

Right:
I think this bracelet is SO FUN! I can't remember the brand, but it came from Little Black Bag's big going out of business sale. It is a faux leather with a metal top piece. The "leather" which is tough to see is pink with a gold overtone to it. Really pretty. I think the color makes this oversize piece a bit more delicate.

Now for a riding outfit! Here's what I rode in last night:

Top: Vineyard Vines for Skidmore College Saratoga Horse Show
I don't usually buy horse show apparel, but I love Vineyard Vines and I love my alma mater, so I had to! Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund, so it's a win-win all around. Besides, it's mint green! How could I NOT buy it?

Breeches: Ovation
I've shown these to you all before. They are the older style so I couldn't show in them. Well I could, but all the cool kids would make fun of me. They are perfect for schooling though. SO COMFORTABLE! Also seen there is a leather belt from Ebay. It's Louis Vuitton inspired. I can't believe I forgot to take a photo of the buckle. Sorry about that.

Boots: Parlanti
Jampy and I have a show tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure these hadn't shrunk up on me from lack of use. They haven't! Yay!

That's what I'm wearing this Thursday! What do you have on?

Thursday's Threads: Springtime Edition

Are you sitting down? No? Ok I'll wait......

Ready? Great! So guess what?! No not chicken butt (well played reader). It's much better. MUCH BETTER!

It's actually warm and sunny today!!!!

Seriously. I know it's hard to believe. But believe it! Which only means one thing: I have a springtime outfit on today. Finally!

Cute, right? My only reservation is the cut of the top. I think maybe the waist should have been dropped a bit lower? It works though.

Just to be different, let's start with my arm candy today:

On my right hand today, I have (from left to right): a beaded bracelet with elephant charm that I got in a stack from Ebay. The others in the stack i think were pearl and light pink? (I can't remember as they have since split themselves up.) Next is a chunky braided bracelet from Ettika, a beaded bracelet from Nakamol, and the elephant bracelet from Ettika. These three (after the ebay one) were all shown in my final LBB bracelet haul. I love how they all look together, especially the multi sided beads found on all but the first bracelet. Nice tie in!

My left hand is wearing items also from Little Black Bag. The bracelet is stretchy with these opaque mint rhinestones, faux pearls, and clear beads. I love the mixed media in this one! The watch you might remember from my final haul. It is from T&J Designs. (See? I said it would get lots of use!)

Ok, on to the outfit!

The top is from a brand called SOY: Shine On YOU!! Honestly, who comes up with these? I found this one last year at Marshall's in the Juniors section. Which may explain the odd proportions. Either way, I think it's cute enough. I like that it's short sleeved and not sleeveless as most of my cute spring/summery tops are. I also love that despite the delicate, neutral colored lace fabric, they added these studs on the shoulder to give it some edge. I think it would be cute either way, but I love the added decorations!

The pants are from Rue 21. Inexpensive but adorable. I have a confession about these pants... I nearly gave them away last year because they were really big on me. But since my winter weight gain... they fit rather nicely. Glad I held on to them. But really I hope I can have that problem again soon!

How cute are these Wanted flats?! The photo does not really show their real color sadly. They are basically a nude color, with just the slightest pink tint to them. Much like the top, I love how the spikes take an otherwise ultra-girly shoe and edges them up. Beware though, those spikes are pretty sharp!

What are you wearing today? Are you as mint obsessed as I am? Show me your outfits on my FB page:

Give me a like while you're over there too, my FB page could use some love!

The End Of Little Black Bag: Part IV Shoes

As most of my readers are aware, I have spent most of my disposable income in the last year or so on the Little Black Bag website. I've accumulated TONS of jewelry, bags, accessories, etc from them over the past year. And now they are changing platforms to be more like an ebay with trading. I'm not sure I feel comfortable trading for used items not shipped from a central location, and thus, this is the end of the road for my wasting money Little Black Bag habit. As a final farewell, I am dedicating my next several posts to my Grand Haul as I like to call it (aka, lots of shipments between April and May). So sit back, relax, and try not to be too judgmental about my exorbitant spending.
I really didn't think I had shipped many shoes these last few orders that make up the Grand Haul... but I did. Oops. Perhaps that's a sign of an addiction? Eh, there's worse things to be addicted to anyway.
Let's check them out!

1. Seychelles Juniper Flat

I almost didn't buy these. But I love Seychelles shoes, they always fit me really well, and they use great leather. I couldn't resist. Plus they were on sale! Win! They are black with a gold heel and gold toe cap. Not a great photo, but they're really nice shoes!

 2. Dirty Laundry Field Day Oxford in Gold Glitter

I love these shoes. I didn't need them at all, I have a shocking number of gold shoes. (Ok if you know me, it's probably not shocking.) But they were $6.00 and I can't pass up adorable shoes when they're only $6.00.

3. Vince Camuto Tricera Booties

I opened during the shoe sale and managed to trade away a pair of boots that were very similar to ones I have already for these. These are great! They're real suede, fit perfect, and are a color I don't yet have. Vince Camuto makes really great quality shoes and purses, so I was super excited to get these!

4. Me Too Shoes Joni Wedge

Honestly, I had paid ZERO attention to these shoes on the site. And then someone offered them on a pair of shoes I absolutely hated that I had gotten in my opening. So snatched them up quick before the other person changed their mind! I realized I love these wedges and held on to them tightly until my trading time ended. Of course then I obsessively HAD to trade for this matching tote (which you'll see again in the bag post):

5. Bacio 61 Canzone Sandal

How cute are these? They're actual suede too! I think I traded some earrings or something else equally crazy for them. I LOVE the color, and can't wait to wear them!

6. Wanted Manhattan Penny Loafer

They say Penny Loafer, but I think it's a loafer/boat shoe hybrid. Either way, they're adorable and work really well with my wardrobe. On a need scale of 1-10, they probably ranked a solid 1... but I love them, and have already worn them a bunch!

7. DV by Dolce Vita Oren Loafer

So about these... they went on sale more than once, and each time I told myself I do not need them! But then one day I was searching my house for the mint and tan loafers to go with a certain outfit... I realized I was searching for these shoes which I did not own. (Yeah, I have issues.) So when they went on sale this last time I sucked it up and ordered them. They're genuine suede and very pretty. A tiny bit on the narrow side, but since they're suede they'll stretch if I keep wearing them.

10. NYLA Mischa Sandal

When I was a little kid, I had a back pack that was this same metallic pink color. I now have to buy everything I see in that color. Plus these are leather, so how could I not ship them home?!

9. Carlos by Carlos Santana Tibbi Sandal

Last but not least! How cute are these? I can't remember if I bought them or traded for them... I think I bought them? I remember having a lack of navy shoes last year so clearly I've remedied that situation these last two months. And I love glitter. How can you not?!

So, for all my "I didn't get that many shoes" thoughts, I apparently shipped home 9 pairs. Oops. I have to do a little re-organizing in my shoe room after all this.
Do you have a favorite? What is it about shoes that make us so happy?
