Thursday's Threads

Outfit day! And I actually DID get to ride last night (stepmom ran out of time, yippee for me!) so I have a riding outfit to share. We can start there!

I should have grabbed a photo, but I got a new half pad to try for Eros, and it matched these breeches exactly. It's this one, in the peacock, in case you're curious. I was going to get black, but I figured since I'm not sure whether or not I'll like it, I should try the cheapest option first. Jury is out. He was kind of sassy last night, and I don't know if I can blame the pad or just a mood? Will have to use it a bit more and see. Anyway... back to outfits!

Helmet: One K Defender snakeskin black
Recycled photo... I forgot to snap one last night.

Top: Beval
Awhile back Beval had these sunshirts on sale really cheap, so I got a few. It's your typical sunshirt. I like that they aren't too tight and clingy.

Belt: Mane Jane
I went with the black belt strap and the gunmetal buckle for this outfit.

Breeches: Horseware
I feel like the fit on Horseware breeches is totally hit or miss. Some fit amazingly well (like this pair and the corduroy ones) and others run really small and awkward in places. This is the former though, and I really like them! Especially the teal color.

Boots: Regal Patent
I tried on like four pair of boots for this outfit before settling on the old standby. The first two I couldn't zip... (Um. My name is Stacie and I'm a snack-a-holic. Please send help.) The next pair was brand new and I couldn't do it. (Before you get too excited, I've had them for a year, I just haven't worn them yet.) And then I was going to do the Celeris again, but my ankles begged me not to yet. (Gotta rest the battle wounds sometimes.) So I settled for the old comfy pair. They actually look pretty good with the outfit though, so probably should have just done that from the start and saved the depression over the tight boots. Oh well, live and learn.

So that's what I rode in last night! Now on to my work outfit today, where the theme is powder pink. Alternate title, sometimes I dress like a six year old.
It's cold and dreary today. Like high is maybe 50 and rain on and off for the rest of my life for the next several days. So I needed something warm, but I couldn't bear to return to winter wear.

Sweater: Vince Camuto
Nordstrom Rack had a big clearance sale a few weeks ago, and let's just say my closet did well but my wallet not so much... I loved this pale pink sweater though, and the super cheap price tag was of no help in the not shopping department. It's ridiculously soft and cozy. Perfect for a day like today.

Belt: Mane Jane
I'm so glad I finally got this pale pink belt strap. I've already worn it a ton. And the gunmetal buckle has been getting a lot of use too. It's perfect with the sweater. Pretty much matches the stripes exactly.

Jeans: True Religion
It's tough to photograph, but these jeans have a pink wash over them. You can probably see it best in the full outfit photo above. I think they're super fun. I was worried it might be TOO MUCH pink, but it's pretty subtle in the pants, so it's working.

Shoes: Diba True
I discovered this shoe brand on Zulily a few years ago, and I really love a lot of their stuff. I'm not sure if they're expensive out in the real world, but on Zulily the prices are great, and the shoes are real leather. Thus high quality, low price tag. My favorite combo! I LOVE these slip ons, they are white underneath with a light coating of metallic rose gold. Super fun!

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is donning this cute leather bangle from Rustic Cuff along with a dainty rose gold flower bracelet from Pura Vida. Along with my trust watch of course.

Righty:
I've really jumped hard on the rose gold bandwagon lately... Whatever, it's pink and metallic and those are a few of my favorite things! The first one I put together myself. I love those little rearing ponies! The next one is housing my Fitbit. And the last one is a strap I cut to fit that rose gold clasp from Hermes.

And that's it for today! Do you have any favorites? Opinions on rose gold? What are you wearing?

Thursday's Threads: Travel Edition

Outfit Day! I mentioned yesterday that I'm heading to Florida to visit Badger today, so I have just one outfit to share, and it has layers. Obviously. It's a beautiful day here, 60 and sunny! In December! It's almost hard to leave. Almost. Anyway, here's what I'm wearing today:
When traveling south in December it's important to wear layers so you don't get hypothermic en route to the airport and don't get heat stroke upon landing. Although the temperature difference today will only be about 10-15 degrees. I'm happy to be able to check my jacket instead of carrying it on. I'm sure I'll need it Monday when I get back, otherwise I'd just leave it home!

Sweater and Button Down: J Crew

I broke my rule of refusing to step foot in a retail outlet on Black Friday this year. My bestie wanted to make a couple stops while she was home so I agreed to join her. We went to J Crew where everything was 60% off and I bought presents for no one but myself. (Sorry, not sorry.) And these two tops were them. I love the fox sweater, and thought the plaid button down looked perfect with it.

Jeans: Rue21
You're seen these before. They definitely have become a favorite of mine. It's super exciting when a $9.99 pair of jeans earns favorite status.

Belt: Burberry
The plaids aren't exact on the belt and top, but I think they're similar enough to pull this off. Plus, you can't actually see the belt anyway.

Shoes: Vince Camuto
Well, this is rare... I wore these boots last week on Thursday's Threads too. I like to try and space wearings out usually, but they go perfectly with the sweater so couldn't be helped!

Arm Party!
Lefty:
I kept the arm party really simple today because I don't want to have to take 90 bracelets off to go through security. So apple watch is on his own today.

Righty:
Righty is sporting a slightly creepy fox bangle from Betsey Johnson. His pink gemstone eyes are definitely a bit creepy, but I still think he's cute.

And that's all I have for today! It poured buckets the last few days so I didn't have a riding outfit to share. Maybe next week!
Do you have a favorite piece from today's outfit? Do you like critters on your clothes, or think they're too kiddy? I love them obviously! What are you wearing today?

Thursday's Threads: Thanksgiving edition

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all had a great day spent with people you love. Or animals you love. Either one. I got to spend it with both, so that's a great day! I haven't ridden due to the weather, so no riding outfit to share today, but I do have my Thanksgiving outfit. We're a casual family so no need to get too fancy!
I mean just because we're casual doesn't mean I can't wear some shiny pants!
Let's look closer:

Sweater: Cabi
A few weeks ago my sister-in-law hosted a Cabi party. I saw this sweater there and HAD to have it! This picture of my back is doing no justice to my backside nor the sweater, but I swear it's only awkward (and enormous) because my arm is raised to take the photo. I love the shape of this sweater and the fun back is a total bonus!

Pants: Trina Turk
Shiny pants!!! I love me some shiny pants. Not news, I know. I found these pants last year at Nordstrom Rack when I was in Florida. They were marked down to $30 from something ridiculous like $250. Obvious must have for me.

Belt: Burberry
I think you've all seen this one more than once. I thought the tan plaid was perfect with both the sweater and the shiny pants.

Booties: Vince Camuto
I'm pretty sure I got these booties a few years ago when Little Black Bag was closing down. If I remember correctly I only paid $10 for them. They're real suede, and pretty fabulous. Especially for $10.

Arm Party:
Lefty:
Lefty kept it simple because as usual, I was running too late to pick out jewelry. Just my trusty apple watch today.

Righty:
Righty wore these adorable hand painted bangles from Deux Chevaux. I stumbled across these on Ebay awhile back for  better than half price. I did try to get them even cheaper because I'm frugal, but was unsuccessful. I think they're gorgeous though, and worth every penny.

That's what I wore today! How was your Thanksgiving? What did you wear?

Truthful Tuesday

I have such a conflict occurring... On the one hand I HATE winter. I hate everything about it: the short days, the cold, the SNOW and ICE! Ugh. I don't even like thinking about it. Which leads me to resent Autumn. It only brings one thing after all. But here's where the conflict comes in... I love boots. And pumpkin flavored everything. Does that make me a hypocrite? Does anyone else feel this conflict in their lives?? Seriously. Do I hide my love for boots and pumpkin, or own it despite hating everything they stand for? #firstworldproblems
I shall leave you with a pictorial description of my problem:

Already dark out for Rio's 7 pm walk
but how great are my Vince Camuto boots that I traded for on Little Black Bag

The End Of Little Black Bag: Part IV Shoes

As most of my readers are aware, I have spent most of my disposable income in the last year or so on the Little Black Bag website. I've accumulated TONS of jewelry, bags, accessories, etc from them over the past year. And now they are changing platforms to be more like an ebay with trading. I'm not sure I feel comfortable trading for used items not shipped from a central location, and thus, this is the end of the road for my wasting money Little Black Bag habit. As a final farewell, I am dedicating my next several posts to my Grand Haul as I like to call it (aka, lots of shipments between April and May). So sit back, relax, and try not to be too judgmental about my exorbitant spending.
I really didn't think I had shipped many shoes these last few orders that make up the Grand Haul... but I did. Oops. Perhaps that's a sign of an addiction? Eh, there's worse things to be addicted to anyway.
Let's check them out!

1. Seychelles Juniper Flat

I almost didn't buy these. But I love Seychelles shoes, they always fit me really well, and they use great leather. I couldn't resist. Plus they were on sale! Win! They are black with a gold heel and gold toe cap. Not a great photo, but they're really nice shoes!

 2. Dirty Laundry Field Day Oxford in Gold Glitter

I love these shoes. I didn't need them at all, I have a shocking number of gold shoes. (Ok if you know me, it's probably not shocking.) But they were $6.00 and I can't pass up adorable shoes when they're only $6.00.

3. Vince Camuto Tricera Booties

I opened during the shoe sale and managed to trade away a pair of boots that were very similar to ones I have already for these. These are great! They're real suede, fit perfect, and are a color I don't yet have. Vince Camuto makes really great quality shoes and purses, so I was super excited to get these!

4. Me Too Shoes Joni Wedge

Honestly, I had paid ZERO attention to these shoes on the site. And then someone offered them on a pair of shoes I absolutely hated that I had gotten in my opening. So snatched them up quick before the other person changed their mind! I realized I love these wedges and held on to them tightly until my trading time ended. Of course then I obsessively HAD to trade for this matching tote (which you'll see again in the bag post):

5. Bacio 61 Canzone Sandal

How cute are these? They're actual suede too! I think I traded some earrings or something else equally crazy for them. I LOVE the color, and can't wait to wear them!

6. Wanted Manhattan Penny Loafer

They say Penny Loafer, but I think it's a loafer/boat shoe hybrid. Either way, they're adorable and work really well with my wardrobe. On a need scale of 1-10, they probably ranked a solid 1... but I love them, and have already worn them a bunch!

7. DV by Dolce Vita Oren Loafer

So about these... they went on sale more than once, and each time I told myself I do not need them! But then one day I was searching my house for the mint and tan loafers to go with a certain outfit... I realized I was searching for these shoes which I did not own. (Yeah, I have issues.) So when they went on sale this last time I sucked it up and ordered them. They're genuine suede and very pretty. A tiny bit on the narrow side, but since they're suede they'll stretch if I keep wearing them.

10. NYLA Mischa Sandal

When I was a little kid, I had a back pack that was this same metallic pink color. I now have to buy everything I see in that color. Plus these are leather, so how could I not ship them home?!

9. Carlos by Carlos Santana Tibbi Sandal

Last but not least! How cute are these? I can't remember if I bought them or traded for them... I think I bought them? I remember having a lack of navy shoes last year so clearly I've remedied that situation these last two months. And I love glitter. How can you not?!

So, for all my "I didn't get that many shoes" thoughts, I apparently shipped home 9 pairs. Oops. I have to do a little re-organizing in my shoe room after all this.
Do you have a favorite? What is it about shoes that make us so happy?
