Thursday's Threads: Early Chanukah Edition

Chanukah starts really late this year. The first night is on Christmas. I'll be traveling, so I decided to do our Chanukah outfit early so I don't miss it! That would be terrible! It was Al's turn to model, and he did a great job. Here's what we had on:

I really need to remember to prop my phone up on the other side of the ring so it's not trying to focus through the sunlight. This is why I'm not a photographer! From this angle, I don't look AS short next to him as I am in real life. Haha! I didn't detail that vest I'm wearing below, but if you're wondering it's a million years old (roughly) from Calvin Klein.

Here's what Al wore this week:
He did his photo shoot yesterday when it was nice and we could be outside. Today was crazy windy and we got a ton of rain last night so the ring was too wet for riding in today. Back indoors we went!

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Homemade
These wooden bead brow bands are my favorites. I kind of hate making them because I do not have the attention span really required for sewing, but they come out so ridiculous and cute! Totally worth my boredom and stabbed fingers.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Equine Star
Half Pad: Ippico
I'm so glad I decided to have these fun saddle pads made when I was still gainfully employed. They are ridiculous in all the best ways.

Boots: Equine Star
I have the same feelings for the boots. I just love things that are silly. And these are definitely that.

That's what Al was wearing this week, and here's what I had on:

You know... if it was warmer it might be fun to go all out with some chanukah leggings instead of breeches... But it's not warmer so I didn't do that. Maybe next year!

Helmet: One K Avance CCS with MIPS
Been awhile since I've worn the navy helmet! Well, kind of. It HAD been awhile, but then I wore it Saturday for our card photos. I have the gold front shield and rails in, but I'm thinking maybe I need to get some silver at some point to match these boots.

Sweater: Tipsy Elves
When Tipsy Elves first launched I was SO excited that they had so much Chanukah stuff. Over the years they have expanded their product line to include various holidays all year long, and consistently create new Christmas sweaters. But you know what they don't do? New Chanukah stuff. It's really disappointing. Nothing new in several years, and there's a lot less Chanukah options for accessories and what not too. It's really unfortunate. It's great for my bank account, but it's pretty lame otherwise. Don't you want my money Tipsy Elves? No? Okay then....

Belt: Zazzle
You all know I love these belts from Zazzle. I really hope they get them back in stock. I'll be super sad if they're gone forever.

Breeches: Equiline
I believe this model is called Boston. They have knee patches that are the same material as the pants. They're sized differently than all my others though. Normally Equiline breeches are sold using Italian sizing and I wear right in between a 42 and 44. 42s are pretty snug, I'd say equivalent to TS 26 and the 44s are usually a little too loose. When I ordered these though, the drop down had them in US sizes so I chose 28 which is my usual TS size. When they arrived, the label said IT-46. The waist is a little big, but otherwise they fit nicely. So I have no idea what size they really are. But I got them on sale for $75 which is a real steal, so who even cares?

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I think last year or the year before maybe, Dreamers and Schemers had Chanukah socks and I was so excited I bought both options. I'm not offended they didn't have any this year, because it doesn't look they did a holiday drop of any kind this season. Which is odd... I hope things are going okay over there because I love what they do.

Boots: Celeris UK
Chanukah is the perfect time to bust out the newish navy boots! I got these this summer and they were a sample pair that happened to be my size exactly. Love when that happens! They're really simplem all navy blue with just that little bit of silver piping on the top.

And that's it! What do you think? Are you glad I didn't skip the Chanukah outfit?

Thursdays Threads: Thanksgiving Edition

Outfit day! Al really wanted to be the Thanksgiving model and who am I to argue? Here's what we had on:

I'm really enjoying the mirrors in the indoor. I think Al likes them too.

Here's a closer shot of Al's outfit:
Post lunge, pre ride. How about that shiny coat of his? We're loving the new feed.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow band: Made by me
I made these brow bands from a dog leash. And they are ADORABLE. Those are little turkeys on it, which is hard to see without enlarging.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Ippico
Saddle Pad: Equine Star
Turkey for you, Turkey for me... Anyone else have Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song living rent free in your brain this week? No? Just me? Okay then... You might now though.

Boots: Equine Star
MORE TURKEYS! I just love a good theme.

So that's what Al had on. And here's what I wore:

I know. Ridiculous. Ridiculous happens to be my happy place though.

Helmet: One K
I brought the brown and rose gold One K out for this week's outfit. Al was less then thrilled to be featured in the photo however.

Sweater: Tipsy Elves
If you're ever thinking to yourself, "wow, I REALLY need to find a holiday themed sweater" then you need to click on over to the Tipsy Elves website. They always deliver.

Belt: Designer Inspired
This buckle is still going strong, but sadly this was the last ride for the strap. It's cracking all over and falling apart. Sad day for my orange belt strap.

Breecches: Dover Wellesley
I love my Wellesley breeches for winter. They're just a bit thicker than say TS breeches without feeling bulky. They do run big though, and I may have to consider replacing my collection with a size down. Although after my gluttony at Thanksgiving dinner, these may fit better by the weekend... #noregrets

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
Admittedly, these are maybe more Halloween than Thanksgiving with the jack o lanterns on there, but they also have PUMPKIN PIE and that is very much Thanksgiving worthy.

Boots: Horka
Mirror selfies win again! These boots have been great for my current everyday pair at the new place. I hope I don't kill them too quickly! But cold weather is coming so I imagine we'll be seeing more of the sheepskin lined paddock boots soon enough.

And that's it for today! Hope everyone who celebrates had a lovely Thanksgiving today! I celebrated with my mom and brother and ate way too much. So I'll call that a success. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thurday's Threads: Chanukah Edition

Happy Chanukah Outfit Day!!! I decided that I would wear ugly Chanukah sweaters to work every day this week, and so far, either no one has noticed, or they just haven't said anything... I saved my new favorite one for today though, so I could share with all of you! But fear not, yesterday's sweater I rode in as well, so you can see that one too. We'll start with today and work backwards.
It has TINSEL on it! I know. It's definitely something.

Top: Tipsy Elves
I don't know how they come up with this stuff! I will say, I hope Tipsy Elves has some new styles next year for Chanukah. I own all the current styles that I liked, and there are far less options than for Christmas. So I'm hoping for some new hilarity next year. Though this certainly does not disappoint!

Belt: C4

I only have one Chanukah belt, so you'll see this again shortly... Maybe C4 could do a new one next year too...

Jeans: Hudson
Love these! I wish they were a tad longer. The ankle length isn't ideal once it's sock weather. But they'll be great with tall boots too.

Socks: not sure where I got these
Menorah socks are always a good idea for Chanukah time!

Shoes: Blowfish
Can you believe I don't have Chanukah shoes?! I know. I couldn't quite believe it either. Apparently, there's not a large market for them. Come on designers! We need some Chanukah shoes!

Arm Party:
Lefty:
Lefty is wearing this dainty leather bracelet with a star of David charm along with my trusty apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is donning a beaded snowflake bracelet from Pura Vida, along with this adorable stack from Alex and Ani that my mom gave me last year. So festive!

Bag: Betsey Johnson
I mean... no Chanukah outfit is complete without a dreidel purse. Right? Check out the gold gelt for the zipper pull! So cute!

That's what I have on at work today, but Eros and I both have riding outfits to share! I'll go first.

It's blurry to show you how effing cold it was last night. I think that comes through...

Sweater: Tipsy Elves
Jacket and Vest: Eddie Bauer
My dad actually ordered a jacket and vest for my step mom and for me with the barn logo on them, but they aren't here yet. They would have matched better being Navy. But these are warm, so I don't care if they go or not!

Belt: C4 (again)
It's adorable. I don't really need a second one.

Breeches: Ovation
These are the "curvy" cut Ovation breeches. I really love them, as they are made for girls like me with THIGHS. But they weren't really warm enough last night.

Boots: Tuffrider Regal
I know, I know. Boring. But they have plenty of room for extra socks.

That's what I rode in, so now it's time for what Eros wore... I didn't get a full horse shot, so we'll just do the individuals. (Also, the trainer over there hates color and thought he looked ridiculous. She's boring.)

Saddle: Hermes
Pad: Hopeful Equestrian
half pad: I can't remember this brand, so sorry!
Girth: Jack's
Part of me wishes I had done the Chanukah set in blue, but I do love this purple. Maybe next year we'll do a blue set.

Polos: Hopeful Equestrian
For some reason, the velcro never hits quite in the right spot. But they're adorable all the same.

Bridle: Spare parts... mostly Royal Sports
Browband: Southern Sweet PGH

I snagged this browband on Etsy for a STEAL! ($35!) and though it does work for Chanukah colors, it's also similar to the barns colors, so he'll wear it for schooling year round.

And that's it for our Chanukah edition of Thursday's Threads. Any favorites from today? Do you embarrass your horse with theme outfits? If not, you should. They don't usually buck you off in retaliation... only sometimes.
