Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! Unfortunately, I've forgotten this entire week to get photos of Shiny's outfit, and she was meant to model today... But I did get some video yesterday, so we'll grab a screen shot and share it that way.

I remembered after I typed that last sentence that I had the zoom error in her video yesterday... So I guess this show above is the best we have to work with. Sorry about that guys! I've been so distracted this week! Anyway... She is wearing her Joseph Sterling bridle with the Dark Jewel Designs spike brow band. Hwer saddle is her same old Custom Saddlery one. Though I may have found a used Butet that will her. Fingers crossed! And let's hope I can find some braiding jobs to make that happen. Her saddle pad is Ogilvy, and her half pad is Le Mieux. Her boots which you can barely see are Busse.

I did remember to photograph my own outfit at least. So let's see that!

Not a big surprise since you already saw it in Shiny's photo....

Helmet: One K (non MIPS)
One K has yet to make a MIPS helmet in brown, so I'm wearing this one without the MIPS. Living on the edge!

Shirt: Luyaa
I still love these shirts. I wear them almost every day.

Belt: Zazzle
You all know I love me some Zazzle belts.

Breeches: RJ Classics Harper
I think they stopped making this model, likely due to the pocket problems they have. For some reason, the pockets on this model open up at the bottom so you don't actually have pockets. Just a well of emptiness that dumps into your boots. Regardless, I love the breeches. I haven't tried the newer models they have out, but I imagine they have something similar still.

Boots: Horka... or maybe HKM
Funny story about these fun boots... I bought these like 8 years ago I think. I'm not exactly sure because I can't find the email confirmation for them which is also why I have no idea what brand they are. Anyway, I got them ages ago, but they had that same patent croc on the inside. After riding in them once I deemed them awful because they were slippery and they squeaked. But then one day my dad was talking about a shoe maker near his NYC apartment, and so I asked if he would take these boots to get a leather patch put on. He did take them, but then there was Covid and the shop closed up. I forgot all about the boots, but my dad had them in New York all this time. I guess he found a new shoe repair guy because a couple weeks ago he returned the boots to me. I had literally erased these things from my memory, so it was a fun day when I got new boots that were already mine! They are perfect now with their nice leather patches, though a bit too wide as I got these before we figured out my Thyroid issue and my legs were still swollen. Whatever though, better a bit too wide than too small!

And that's it for today! Hopefully I'll have my act together better for next week.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! And this one is real. As in it's nothing special and I don't even fully match. Because sometimes you just wear what's quickest to grab and the most comfortable. And I realize you're probably expecting a fourth of July outfit, but honestly, I'm just not feeling celebrating this country too hard this year. Maybe next year. Al wanted to model today since he missed his chance last week. Here's what he was wearing:

He's just the cutest thing. And so long as his photos still make me smile, I still believe there's hope for us!

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow Band: Dark Jewel Designs
You may notice a different bit than he usually wears. (Or you may not because really who pays that close attention?) After our first lesson with our new trainer he suggested trying a full cheek. Which I was on board for since he actually shows in one. But I didn't want to change the mouthpiece because he seems to really like what we've been using. So I ordered the same mouthpiece but in the full cheek version. When it arrived I noticed the cheeks were... well they're weird. They're really short, and they don't have a little ball on the end like most to secure the keepers. So the keepers have to sit lower on the cheep piece to stay on. And it's weird. But for now it's fine. I was reading Leah's blog about the roller bits she was trying for Pyro and I had a hmmmm moment. I've noticed that Al exhibits some behaviors that are very similar to what some humans do called stimming. It's more or less a behavior that someone may do for comfort, like rocking back and forth, flapping hands, or touching finger tips. Al sometimes sucks on the crossties. Or when we're riding he will chomp on the bit, but not in a way that's resistant to the contact. In fact, when he's chomping on the bit, it's the rare time when he's actually got his focus on me. If I can get him to chomp, I know our ride will be lovely. Or at least the moments while he will keep chomping... I KNOW this sounds wrong. But you'll just have to trust me on this. And yes, good thing he's not a dressage horse. So anyway, the reason for my rambling, I think he might like a copper roller to play with. Like a fidget spinner for horses! Of course, the only roller bits I have are the ones that are three piece with a roller in the center. But Al doesn't like a three piece mouth. I ordered one of the ones with a single joint which should be here early next week. Can't wait to try it out! Fingers crossed I've had an epiphany. (Thanks Leah!) And if not, at least those bits are inexpensive! Lol. Okay back to our outfits.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Mattes
Just a simple set up this week. My saddle looks so light in this photo! I think it needs oil.

Boots: Anky
I think these might be my favorite every day front boots. It's a bummer they were a seasonal color, but hopefully they'll last forever. So far so good!

That's what Al wore today, and here's what I had on:
Barn colors-ish. And my boots don't match my outfit. And I'm not sad about it.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS MIPS
It's surprising how dry and dusty things got after all the rain we've been getting. Hence my dirty helmet. But we had a very quick storm blow through a little bit ago, so hopefully no dust tomorrow!

Top: FitEq
I'm bummed this brand went out of business, I was hoping they'd make more colors of these tops. They're really comfy and quick drying.

Belt: Zazzle
The buckle is a little beat up, but I still love this belt so much. They STILL don't have these in stock at Zazzle which makes me sad. I hope they aren't gone forever.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I'm pretty sure this color is Dark Teal. I actually paid retail for these a couple of years ago because I loved the color so much. I rarely do such crazy things! But it was worth it I think for these.

Boots: Celeris UK
I haven't ordered custom boots in many years at this point, but this pair of demo's happened to be exactly my measurements so I couldn't say no to them. I've had them since last summer, and I'm pretty sure I've shared them before a few times. They're a navy color so I don't wear them a ton what with my boycott of all things blue there for awhile... But they're lovely boots and so comfy and I will definitely be wearing them more.

And that's it for today! Sorry it wasn't an exciting outfit, but they can't all be crazy!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! And it's a lil' boring again because I have not fully gotten my poo together to be exciting. But I mean.... I like the outfit. So there's that. Eros is our model today and here's what he had on:

I really gotta stop shooting toward the sun... This is why I'm not a photographer.

Bridle: Ponyo
See? It's not a TOTALLY boring outfit. Our bridle has glitter! I did that just for you guys.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Le Mieux
Baby pad: Ogilvy
As you can see, my saddle is still like this. Rep can't get here until the end of the month. I honestly want to burn the thing at this point. But our saddle pad is pretty! That trim is metallic but it doesn't show that well here.

Wraps: Eskadron
I won't say I'm getting caught up on laundry, but I have made a small dent in the pile. These were lost in there for awhile, but they're clean and back in rotation now!

That's what Eros had on, and here's what I wore today:

It's like the reverse of last week's outfit. What can I say? I have a favorite color scheme.

Helmet: Samshield Embellished by my friend Gwenn
This is my old Samshield that I probably should stop wearing. But I still use it occasionally because it's practically brand new other than it's age. I have the polo visor attached for extra sun protection. How fun are the sparkles my friend added for me?!

Shirt: Anavin
This is an Amazon brand shirt. It's really soft and breathable. Definitely recommend!

Belt: Zazzle
I love these belts. I'm still waiting for them to come back in stock so I can make fun new ones. I hope they come back someday!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
These are the color Saddle. I haven't worn them in awhile because they're a size smaller than I normally wear. But since my small ones last week wore nicely I figured I'd give these a try again. And they fit great! So that's nice to know. Back in rotation they go!

Boots: Cavallo
These are the Linus Slim Waterproof model from Cavallo. I should have ordered them taller, but otherwise I'm really happy with them. They're supposed to be olive in color, but they lean more brown than green. Works for me either way! I like the concept of waterproof boots for everyday riding.

And that's it for this week! Any favorites from today?  What are you waiting to see on either me or the horses? Any specific items? Or themes?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! Nothing too exciting this week, but honestly last week should hold you over in the silly department for awhile. In honor of being home this week, we dressed in farm colors again. Al was our model which was a challenge because already on day 1 the neighbor scared the shit out of him. I really didn't miss that guy all winter. Anyway, here's what Al was wearing this week:

He poses nicely when he's staring at the big threat next door.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow Band: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
I know you've seen this all winter. I nearly used the glitter bridles today, but since it was the first ride at home, I thought maybe I'd stick to what we're used to.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
There's nothing prettier than a well fitting saddle all nestled into it's fluffy half pad. Wish I could make this happen for all the horses... Lol. Saddles. Ugh.

Boots: Horze
I love this shade of green! You know what's annoying? Companies make pretty things that I love in nice colors, and they're always limited edition. Limited edition this, limited edition that... Like can they just make stuff continuously so when they break I can replace them? These aren't breaking (yet) but it's just something that's been annoying me lately.

Anyway, that's what Al wore this week, and here's what I had on:
Happy to report I was able to stuff myself back into my size 26 breeches. Finally!

Helmet: One K
I did not realize how bad this photo was... I have no idea what spilled all over the helmet, but I suspect it's Al's U-shield. And why does it look like I have a bruise across my nose? Dirt maybe? I dunno. Maybe next week I'll look like I clean myself once in awhile.

Hoodie: Walmart
Shirt: Luyaa
I think this silly tan hoodie is one of my favorites and I got it at Walmart. So fancy! Ha! It's super soft though, and the zipper slides so nicely. More than I can say for a lot of pricier ones!

Belt: Zazzle
The buckle isn't aging well, but I love this belt so much. It doesn't actually look so worn in real life.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I've been avoiding this pair of breeches all winter because I put on a few pounds. But I haven't done laundry in awhile so I figured I'd give it a shot. And they fit! Yay! That was a happy surprise today.

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
I had to wear my socks with the barn on them for out first at home ride. Obviously.

Boots: Imperial Riding
I am very excited to have easy access to ALL THE BOOTS now that we're back home. I have a really fun pair to break in so expect to see those soon. In the meantime, these aren't quite broken in yet either. These actually aren't my size, and if I ever have some extra cash around I would like to reorder them in the correct size. I had gotten them from Europe and the size stamped on the inside of the boots did not match the box. They're a tall slim, and I need a regular regular. I have very large heel lifts in there to get them to work. For now it'll do. And thanks to the laces I was able to zip them up. It would have been too big of a hassle and probably cost to ship them back, though I could have argued it was the stores error. At least I can wear them though! They're really pretty!

Is there anything you're looking forward to seeing on Thursday's Threads? Let me know, maybe I'll wear it next!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! I took photos yesterday because it was so nice out. Today involved a few more layers and lots of clouds. Eros is our model this week, and here's what he had on:

I'm no sure what was so interesting off the left, but he would NOT look at me for this photo. Looks pretty cute anyway, even if it's a pretty awkward pose.

Bridle: Jospeh Sterling
Brow Band: Dark Jewel Designs
And then when I wanted him to look left, he looked right. But it worked out.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Mattes
Good thing I stocked up on Ogilvy pads before all these ridiculous tariffs started...

Wraps: Eskadron
I'm still loving these wraps for Eros. I hope they make new colors soon. But also I hope they don't since they are not inexpensive.

That's what Eros was wearing this week, and here's what I had on:
Sticking with the usual color scheme... Though the sweater is more teal than forest, so that's kind of a change!

Helmet: One K
Those white spots on the helmet are from Al's pre-ride U-Shield. He gets to licking his lips when I give it to him and I end of wearing a decent amount... The things we do for our horses!

Sweater: Ariat
This sweater is roughly 100 years old at this point, but I love it for spring. It's not too heavy, but warm enough to block the wind.

Belt: Zazzle
You guys know I love these belts. Can you blame me? Look how cute they look on there!

Breeches: Equiline
It didn't come out well in the photo, but the branding on these is a metallic rose gold, along with the zippers and the trim on the pockets on the back. So cute!

Boots: Celeris UK
Here they are again! I just love these boots so much. I'll swap them out soon because the furry leather isn't durable for everyday use. But a week or two here and there is just fine.

That's it for this week! Anything you guys want to see for next week?
