Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! And yes, I'm wearing green again... But it's officially autumn and therefore my farm colors are very much on trend for the season. Eros is our model today, so we'll start with his outfit. But um... I forgot a full body photo. Guess we'll just jump right into individual items.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

Is there a handsomer face in all the land? No. No there is not. (Don't tell Al I said that. He is also handsome in his own way.) Anyway, still really liking these Pinnacle bridles for the price point. I think more than the old Camelot bridles I was so happy with. (I think I'll have a couple of those for sale soon, if anyone is looking.)

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: PerfEq Pad by Anatomeq
These pads are pricey, but Taylor does run sales a few times a year when you can save a little. I really like them. They are very breathable and they do seem to keep the horses cooler underneath. They stay put really well too. If a pad doesn't move on Eros, it probably won't move on most other horses either. Al wore this pad in white for our two shows this year, and I really was happy with that pad too.

Boots: Eskadron
I'm kind of loving this new color from Eskadron. They call it Cognac, but I call it pumpkin spice. I've been hunting for some tan boots, and I think these will fill that roll.

So that's what E wore today, and here's what I had on:

It's a very autumnal outfit. For someone who doesn't really love fall, I do very much like the color pallet.

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS
I think it's kind of funny that One K made this helmet in gray and navy but not in brown. Odd no? I'd really like a brown one. Anyway, I wore the black one with the green and sand inserts.

Top: MathCat
Vest: Ariat
I hope I manage to keep this vest in good shape for a long time. It's one of my favorites! I like it with this tan shirt; I wasn't sure if it would work, but it does!

Belt: Noble Outfitters

I have this belt in a few colorways as they are frequently a promotion at Dover. This is obviously my favorite of the bunch though. It's like it was made just for me!

Breeches: RJ Classics Harper
I scored these on Poshmark for like $60 and I don't think they were ever actually worn. I like the RJ breeches, and these Harper style are my favorite of theirs.

Boots: Mountain Horse Sovereign Luxe

My zipper finally gave up the ghost on my black Celeris boots this morning, so these are officially stepping into the roll of "go-to boots".  I'd have worn them today anyway though, because they go best with this outfit.

That's it for this week's outfit! Any favorites? Anything you want to see before we move back to the other barn for the winter?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! After dressing up in multiple ridiculous outfits all last week, I had to tone it down this time. A pallet cleanse if you will... Eros modeled for us today, so let's start with what he wore.

I dunno guys, I think his dad bod is starting to look slightly more fit. The belly isn't hanging QUITE as low. He's handsome either way though.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O' Boy Bridleworks

Let's chat about these Pinnacle bridles shall we? I was always kind of meh about them. I have one that's a different model and thought it was fine, but nothing special. But these wide noseband ones? The longer I use them, the more I am liking them. For the price, they are REALLY nice. They are currently $89 and come with reins. If you're looking for a schooling bridle on a budget, definitely go grab one. I just recently discovered that this brand is also available in two different bitless bridle models. I'm seriously considering selling my La Cense side pulls and getting the Pinnacle one instead.

Boots: Anky
I know, I've shared these a lot lately, but they are currently my favorite boots. They're on sale all over the place this weekend, so if you're in the market for a brushing boot, grab a pair! They come in black, green, navy, and burgundy. And possibly white, but I'm not positive on that.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: The Hangry Mare
Half Pad: Mattes
I LOVE these pads from the Hangry Mare. I'm not sure if she's still making them though. I haven't used them in awhile because I had tucked them away and kind of forgot about them. But they're back in the rotation officially.

That's E was wearing, and here's what I had on today:

It's starting to feel like fall (so sad) and my barn colors are very appropriate for that coming season. Maybe I should dress for the season I want not the season I'm getting?

Helmet: One K
I have the new tan colored front shield and rails installed with the green top today. I really do enjoy being able to swap parts around to match my outfits on these helmets!

Shirt: TKEQ
The majority of my seamless shirts come from Amazon, but I couldn't find this nice chocolate brown color on there, so I splurged on this one. Honestly, it's the same shirt as the Amazon version though.

Belt: Ponylocks
I wore Jampy's belt today. Nice to have him with me for the day. Ponylocks really does an amazing job with these.

Breeches: RJ Classics Gulf
These are a little tough to photograph properly. The color is called June bug and I expected them to look as they appear in this photo right above. But the actual color is more similar to my full outfit photo further up the page. I like both shades so no worries there! But was surprised when I saw them in person that they were more like hunter green than I expected.

Boots: Mountain Horse Sovereign Luxe
I'm debating making these my go to boots for most days. The black ones with the rhinestones really need to visit the boot doctor. I try to save my really fun boots for once a weekish so that they will last. My everyday, go to boots tend to die a pretty fast death lately, so I don't want to destroy something fancy so quickly. I think these may be the next tribute.

So that's it for today! Anything in particular you liked this week? Have you tried the Pinnacle bridles from Schneider's? Thoughts on those?

Thursday's Threads: Bagel Edition

Yes, you read that title correctly. This is the bagel edition of Thursday's Threads. I told you there was silliness coming! Shiny will be our model today because she's almost the same color as a bagel. Here's what she wore today:

She's the best little model, isn't she?! Let's look closer at her outfit.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
I struggled to decide which bridle to wear today. I didn't make a browband for this outfit, but don't count that out for the future. I actually think I have some bagel beads lying around here...

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Dreamers and Schemers

I swear, I wasn't going to buy any of these super fun saddle pads from D&S. The horses' saddles fit best with baby pads, and Shiny primarily uses pads with the half pad built in. Since finding this Eskadron sheepskin liner though, we've been able to work with other types of pads. And I really just couldn't resist the bagel pad. (Nor the F-Bomb one... but that's a post for another time.) The D&S pads are quite nice though, if you're looking for something fun. They are contoured so don't pull on the withers, and are a decent thickness without being too bulky. They don't have plans to make baby pad versions, but maybe if enough people express interest they'll change their minds. Feel free to let them know if you'd be interested!

Boots: DSB customized by me
Yep, I made bagel tabs for my interchangeable boots. I mentioned last week about possibly using the Anatomeq boots for a lighter option, but I've decided to use the PE ones instead. Because the horse size Anatomeq have three tabs and I'd have to make a lot more tabs of past prints, which I don't feel like doing. The PE boots in size medium and small have two tabs only. So they'll work better for my laziness. I haven't made up the new boots yet though, so these are the same fluffy ones you've seen before. I think the bagels look pretty cute! They're different than the D&S print, but close enough. I found the fabric already available, so you know, you compromise for the sake of easiness.

So that's what Shiny wore, and here's what I had on:
You might be thinking, that looks like a bagel and lox sandwich! You would be correct. You see, the D&S print is bagel sandwiches, and the fabric for the boots are just plain bagels, so I went with my personal favorite bagel sandwich for my outfit. Yum!

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS

I had a similar conundrum with my helmet and boots as I had with the bridle today... Nothing was exactly what I wanted. But I didn't want to bore you all with the same old stuff I've been wearing, so I went with the black and rose gold helmet. It works!

Sweatshirt: Amazon print on demand

The day started out pretty chilly so it was definitely sweatshirt weather. At least for the first half of the day. Also, you can pretty literally find anything on Amazon if you look hard enough. That's where I got this shirt.

Belt: Zazzle

And if you can't find it on Amazon, you can probably find it on Zazzle. Or make it yourself there. Zazzle is one my favorite sites ever. I found this yet again slightly different bagel print on there, and they let you edit the design slightly. I changed the background color but otherwise left it alone.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman

Okay, so the color of these is called Sherbet. But I would also call this color salmon... so THAT is why I chose them for today. Because of my favorite bagel sandwich, of course! (Lox is smoked salmon in case anyone doesn't already know that.)

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
These are the same print as the saddle pad, and I actually already had them. I snapped them up when they first came out awhile back, and I'm glad I did because they aren't available anymore. I imagine at some point they'll re-release some of the retired socks that match the pads, but in case they do not, I'm glad I have these!

Boots: Mountain Horse Sovereign Luxe

Everything I own is dusty right now. We really need some rain around here... But these are lovely dark brown boots when they're clean. I don't think the quality is as nice as the price tag on them, but if you can find them on sale, I would recommend them. They're very comfortable, and they look nice too.

And that's it for today! Did you enjoy the Bagel Edition? What's your favorite item? Have you tried the D&S saddle pads yet?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit day again! Since it's officially fall, and navy season is probably coming, I'm getting all the green in that I can. So it's green again today! I reached into the archives for the horses' outfit today. Al is modeling for us this week. Here's what he wore:

I think the few weeks of light work weren't all that bad for him. He's looking relaxed and, well... a bit chunky if we're being honest.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
He sure is cute... And look, his fake overbite isn't showing too much here!

Boots: QHP
I've mentioned before that I can't help myself when I see green horse boots. So when I saw these, obviously I bought them. They're really cute on the horses, but especially cute on the pony. Tiny, fluffy horse boots are just adorable.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: USG
I'd forgotten all about having these pads. They are pretty old. I bought them when I still was riding Rio and Jampy. They've been tucked away in a tack trunk ever since. I rediscovered them this weekend when I was hunting for something else. I'm so glad I found them! I have three, so I'm guessing I must have bought these when Ducky was still around. They're nice pads. They are a nice thickness, not as thin as a baby pad, but not a bulky pad either.

So that's what the horses wore. And here's what I had on:
This photo shows a teal hue to the breeches, but they're really a brighter green color. Photos can be so deceiving!

Helmet: One K
I shuffled my One K's around a bit after I finally found yellow gold parts for them! I had my black and rose gold pieces on this wide brim helmet, and the not wide brim one was green and rose gold. I decided to make the narrow brim black and rose gold, and moved the green center piece and the gold parts to this wide brim. If only they would make a green or brown mips helmet I could have one that's fully my colors... Until that day, this is as good as it will get. I like it though! The gold is very shiny!

Shirt: Dover
Iv'e had this awhile too. It's perfect for fall with the dark colors and I like the stirrups with leathers motif.

Belt: Vintage Dior
I found this belt years ago, either on Ebay or Poshmark. I can't remember where. It was old then, and now it's really old. but I think it's really classic and pretty. I should probably oil it though, it's starting to crack a bit.

Breeches: RJ Classics
This color is June Bug. It photographs a little different than it looks in real life. In photos it's almost the same as my TS breeches in Ocean, which is like a pastel teal color. But in real life these are sort of a more yellow hued hunter. If that makes sense. I wish I could get them to photograph more accurately. Even the stock photos aren't quite right.

Boots: Mountain Horse Sovereign Lux
I snagged these on sale I think last year? They're very nice boots, pretty comfy and I love the crocodile on the top. I don't think I'd pay retail for them, but would recommend if you found them on sale someplace.

And that's it for today! I shall leave you with a photo of the outfit in action on each of the horses.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! I'm still working on something ridiculous for you guys, just waiting on some hardware so I can finish making some things for it. In the meantime, I have another green outfit to share. I'm trying to keep mixing things up but this is admittedly a bit of a repeat. Sorry. It happens! It's not fully identical... but pretty close. It happens. Listen, I have to wear my clothes more than once! Shiny was our model this week, and here's what she had on:

She looks so cute in green! I just love her.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
These bridles are quite nice for what they cost, especially when you can find them on sale. But I haven't done the best job of breaking them in. This one could use another coat of oil to soften it up a bit more. It looks nice though! I like this color on her.

Boots: Horze
These are the pony size boots that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get Equinavia (US) nor Horze (EU) to sell them to me! I dunno why they think the US doesn't need pony size boots... Thankfully I found these on eBay from a seller in the UK. The straps are a bit long for her, but they do fit otherwise.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: The Hangry Mare
I love this pad from the Hangry Mare. They quality is top notch. I hope to get some others from her eventually.

That's what Shiny had on, and here's what I wore:

Right. I'm sure it looks familiar. But the boots and belt are different!

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS
This one has the rose gold rails installed with it. I hope they'll make some more color options for the changeable pieces. I've love yellow gold rails as an option. Also, I need to dust this helmet.

Shirt: It's a Haggerty's
I have three of these shirts in different color arrangements, so I'm pretty disappointed in myself for wearing the exact same one as a few weeks ago. Sorry friends. It's hard to keep track sometimes! It's a nice shirt at least. It's not all stained in real life, I think that's a weird shadow from my phone.

Belt: Ponylocks
I haven't worn Jampy's belt in awhile, so today felt like a good day to bust it out! Ponylocks really does a beautiful job with these.

Breeches: RJ Classics
I think I really like the RJ breeches these days. They're pretty comfortable and I like the fabric. Maybe a little heavy for those really hot summer days, but since it's been cool here they were perfect.

Boots: Mountain Horse
Heh, it seems I wore croc boots two weeks in a row! Last week were the black Caldene pair and VERY SADLY the soles have come halfway detached on both feet. Just when I was saying how much I love them. Sigh. Hopefully I can get them fixed. Anyway, this week I wore these Mountain Horse boots. I like them about equally with the pair from last week. LOVE this chocolate brown color.

And that's it for today! Any favorites? Anything you're waiting to see?
