Truthful Tuesday

 

Oh man. Guys. Today's confession? Is that I have SEVERELY underestimated the amount of extra crap I have for horses. SEVERELY. I thought I could spend a Monday getting it all priced and organized for the tack sale on Sunday. Um. Yeah. I barely made a dent. This is embarrassing. The bright side is that I have cleaned out all the trunks in the barn, and went through everything in the shed pretty much, so that's something. But I've only managed to price tag the blue blankets and one tub of green sheets so far. I think I'm going have some priced bins (like a $2 bin, a $5 bin, etc) so that will cut down on having to sticker every single thing. But still. There's a lot left to do. I didn't get to any of it today because I have the saddle fitter coming tomorrow, so I had to clean and condition the saddles so it at least looks like I take excellent care of them... Plus you know, ride the horses, groom them, etc. Tuesday is also horse laundry day. 

Tomorrow will still be a busy day in the barn since the we have the fitter coming and then will still have to ride everyone. But I figure Rita and I can spend our evening in the barn tomorrow and get some work done on the pricing. I also need to figure out how I'll get everything to the sale. I'm not sure it will all fit in one trip in my truck (I have a short bed on mine, so not as much space). I'm good at Tetris though. So I'll make it happen. Not sure this place is horse trailer friendly, but that could be an option too. 

Anyway, part two of my confession is that I probably won't post the rest of the week on here. I might. But not much is really going on, so it's a good week to dedicate to other things.

Truthful Tuesday

Anyway, this Tuesday I have some confessions. I've been missing this guy something fierce lately:

And I think we all know what happens when I have the sadz. Especially this time of year when sales are everywhere. I'm not easily enticed by your typical 20% or less sale. That's basically retail since stuff is marked up so much... But occasionally I'll fall prey to the 10% discount if it's something I've been planning to order anyway. (What can I say, sometimes the patience wears thin.) Such is the case over at Dreamers and Schemers. I had some digital artwork done for me by @artastride which you've all seen once or twice, and I've been wanting to get them on socks. So I went ahead and got a little crazy designing socks at Dreamers and Schemers and ordered a few pairs. These are just two of the images I was playing around with. Everyone that was around this past year on top and the current herd on the bottom. I also have individual images of each to play with. So it was fun.

I'll be sure to show them all to you when they arrive, don't worry! I'm hoping they come out as cute as I'm expecting. I got a couple pair for my stepmom for xmas too (hopefully she's not reading this).
Anyway, back to talking about discounts... When I see 30% or more I start to get interested. Especially on things that aren't usually marked down so significantly. Like, um... Celeris boots. They had a handful of 31% off discounts for Halloween. That's a pretty big discount on custom boots. So maybe I grabbed a couple pairs. I wasn't going to. I swear. I have so many boots. SO MANY BOOTS. But I want to retire my too short purple ones. And there was something crazy they have that I decided I NEED. And the two really won't work together... so yeah. Two pair of boots coming. I haven't officially ordered yet, just reserved my spots and paid my deposits.

So, to sum up... I'm confessing to feeling kinda sad about the past year of horsing and I'm also confessing to some irresponsible boot purchases. I have zero regrets about the socks though.

Truthful Tuesday

Um... I bought some things in Florida... None of them are here yet as some are being made and others are being shipped cause I didn't have room in my suitcase. AND I got to see a sneak peak of my indiscretion at Equine Affair! Which should also be arriving pretty soon. So today's confession is that I dropped as small fortune while visiting Badger. Not counting the small fortune that he's costing me. (Seriously friends, if you hear me mention acquiring a baby horse, please arrange an intervention.)
I'd hate to ruin the actual surprise of my awesome new stuff, so I will just provide some teaser photos for you. Let your imaginations run wild, and see if you can guess what everything is in the comments below! (Also, you will get some hints most likely in What's Up Wednesday!)
