What's up Wednesday

Sooooo.... I went back to the barn last night. Officially! Pammon is on full training board this month, so I am having them continue with his tack walks for right now. I'll probably do him over the weekend though. But I DID ride Shiny!
She hasn't been in work since I stopped going to the barn (actually before that, I stopped riding before I stopped going) so it was a VERY light ride. We did maybe five minutes of trot each way, and otherwise just did a lot of walking. We started indoors and then walked a few laps of the outdoor. She was a little alert out there, but didn't do anything naughty. It felt great to be back in the tack. GREAT!
Eros and I took a walk outside too. And everyone had a nice curry. SO wonderful to spend time with them again.

So that's my big news for this past week! But I did some other things over the weekend too. Now that it's getting nice out, it's for sure getting to be iced coffee season. So I brewed myself a bunch of black coffee to keep in the fridge for the next few days. Plus, I made unicorn coffee cubes.
And most importantly I got these syrups from Ghirardelli to dress up my iced coffee.
Who needs Starbucks and Dunkin'? Not me! Ha!
I also made sure that both days this glorious weekend the pups and I took an hour to be outside and enjoy the sunshine. They only last an hour as they are very much house dogs. Pugs like their beds you know?
Artie's been working on his Blue Steel

And I finally got around to putting my gorgeous new browband on Shiny's side pull bridle:

It's so perfect! I really hope the horse size bridle arrives. I have the browband set and ready for it! Though honestly, I don't have a full sized horse that will going bitless any time soon. #rehabforever But still. It's nice to have everything organized and accounted for.
I got my quote this week for the ring and fence which will basically use all my horsey savings for awhile. But well worth it. I don't have a start date just yet, but hopefully soon. I spoke with the parentals and they agreed with my thoughts on taking Eros and Shiny home this summer. So once that fence and ring are repaired they can move here. Which will be amazing. It's been so weird having an empty barn. Especially when I walk in there and announce "Hi Guys!" out of habit and then remember there's no one there... Awkward.

So this weekend, I plan to finish moving stuff into the trailer. I also want to do some more in-barn organizing. I needed to figure out what was going in the trailer before I reorganized everything that lives in the barn/corn crib. I also need to move Pammon's stuff to the correct locker at the barn, and bring home some of the winter stuff to wash. So lots to do this weekend!

How are things with all of you? Getting your spring cleaning done? Have you been able to see your horses?

What's Up Wednesday

Nothing terribly exciting to report here this week. I've been plugging away in the craft room, and it's just about finished. I have one more small bookshelf en route, and then then some stuff to hang on the walls, and that should be that! I'm really happy with it. It's morphed into a craft room/library. And it's pink! I've tried three times to upload a little video tour, but to no avail. So here are some photos instead.

It was terrible weather this weekend, cold (in the 40's Saturday!) and really windy. So I didn't feel so sad about staying inside and getting things done. I did get to visit the horses on Saturday morning. I had to drop off supplements again and Pammon was almost out of his treat pockets for his meds. It was perfect timing as he was just heading out for his walk. While I was watching him walk, Eros came out for his hand walk, too. So I got to see both boys out and about. Shiny I visited in her stall, and everyone was pumped full of snacks accordingly. Still waiting on the quote to fix my ring, but hopefully that will get moving along soon. I haven't talked to the parentals yet, but I'm leaning towards bringing Eros and Shiny home and keeping Pammon at the barn with Fefe for the summer. But we'll see. Eros isn't just my horse, so I have to see if the family will be okay with that.

Sunday was a little nicer, fortunately, and I got to socially distantly visit with my mom for Mother's Day. I had flowers delivered ahead of time and her gift had arrived earlier in the week. So no contact required. And I even brought my own folding chair for comfort. Ha! Life is so weird right now.

I got to see my nieces from a distance last week also as they both had birthdays. So I guess it was a very "social" week for me! It was really nice to see my family, even from a distance. Dad and Stepmom will be home in a couple weeks (Fefe too) so that will be nice also.

So I guess that's it for now. Hope you're all hanging in there!

What's Up Wednesday

Not a whole lot to report this week. You know quarantine and all...
Calendar has jokes...
I'm plugging along at purging and organizing the house. This week I'm focusing on the living room. I threw out 4 trash bags of dog toys that they don't play with. But they still have a MOUNTAIN!
I have had a plan for the longest time for when I renovate, and that was for the family/tv room. I have a few box sets of DVD's and some Funko Pop toys of their characters. I was planning to display them somehow someday. Decided it was silly to wait for someday, and ordered this shelf (photo below) for them. I thought there was a lot of space between the shelves so I also ordered laptop risers to make a second level on the shelves. It's silly, but cute and fun. Cute and fun make me happy.

Friends on the top shelf, Gilmore Girls, Golden Girls, and Gossip Girl on the bottom
I want to weed out the stuff on that other piece of furniture next. I really don't use that stereo, so I'll bring that upstairs I think. This room will be my project this weekend. It's a complete mess.

I spent much of this weekend cleaning out all the drawers and cabinets in my bathroom. So much crap in there! I was super excited to find a bunch of hand sanitizer but they were four years expired. Boo. Google says the alcohol evaporates after three.
I replaced the toilet seat (and toilet brush!) courtesy of my Amazon shopping habit this weekend as well.

I really like the pretty hinges!
I had ordered toilet paper and paper towels for myself and my mom, so on Sunday I brought that stuff over for her. We got to chat for awhile (from a very safe distance outside) and it was really nice to see a human I love for a little while.
I also managed to sun burn only half my face during our visit. Oops. Guess I'll be two-toned this year.

And lastly, the Pugs have been really busy.

They also somehow went on Etsy and used my credit card to refresh their collar wardrobes. (And got new tags of course too... Artie lost his, and P's is pretty worn and hard to read.) They each got a pretty collar and matching leash, and then I also got them each a biothane set for right now if we have to go to the vet, or if we go for a walk off property.
We did hunter green biothane with gold accents. Super excited for them to arrive!
My belt with Rio's hair is finally done also, and is on its way to me. I CANNOT WAIT for it to get here. LOOK AT IT:

I really love how it came out. So excited. His birthday would have been tomorrow so it's good timing.

That's it from here. How are things going with all of you?
