Thursday's Threads

In honor of what would have been Rio's 24th birthday, today's outfit is Winthrop Corner themed. Also it's like 35 degrees outside, so I needed warm clothes. In case I were to go out there.

Sweatshirt:

I forget which company I used to make this hoodie, but it's appropriate for these days. Granted my ammy angst isn't directed at riding right now... but it's still there! I put my logo on the back under where the hood sits.

Belt: Boy O' Boy Bridleworks

I really love these belts. The craftsmanship is amazing, and the owner is wonderful to work with.

Jeans: Levi's
I was thinking brown jeans, but then I saw these in the closet and thought they were way more fun.

Socks: Dreamers and Schemers
It's cold, so I figured boot socks would be nice today. Even if they aren't going under boots. I have zero regrets about getting these custom socks made. I love them!

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Um.... I also can't remember who made this bracelet. I found it from a link on Kelly's blog (Hunky Hanoverian). I love that they fill the etching with green. I wish I could get all my nameplates like that!

Righty:

Righty is donning my Fitbit along with Rio's horsehair jewelry from Horse Hair Creations by Celia. I can't wait for the rest of his pieces from The Sugar Lady to arrive soon!

And that's it for today. Any favorites? Anyone else wearing real pants these days, or just me?

What's Up Wednesday

Not a whole lot to report this week. You know quarantine and all...
Calendar has jokes...
I'm plugging along at purging and organizing the house. This week I'm focusing on the living room. I threw out 4 trash bags of dog toys that they don't play with. But they still have a MOUNTAIN!
I have had a plan for the longest time for when I renovate, and that was for the family/tv room. I have a few box sets of DVD's and some Funko Pop toys of their characters. I was planning to display them somehow someday. Decided it was silly to wait for someday, and ordered this shelf (photo below) for them. I thought there was a lot of space between the shelves so I also ordered laptop risers to make a second level on the shelves. It's silly, but cute and fun. Cute and fun make me happy.

Friends on the top shelf, Gilmore Girls, Golden Girls, and Gossip Girl on the bottom
I want to weed out the stuff on that other piece of furniture next. I really don't use that stereo, so I'll bring that upstairs I think. This room will be my project this weekend. It's a complete mess.

I spent much of this weekend cleaning out all the drawers and cabinets in my bathroom. So much crap in there! I was super excited to find a bunch of hand sanitizer but they were four years expired. Boo. Google says the alcohol evaporates after three.
I replaced the toilet seat (and toilet brush!) courtesy of my Amazon shopping habit this weekend as well.

I really like the pretty hinges!
I had ordered toilet paper and paper towels for myself and my mom, so on Sunday I brought that stuff over for her. We got to chat for awhile (from a very safe distance outside) and it was really nice to see a human I love for a little while.
I also managed to sun burn only half my face during our visit. Oops. Guess I'll be two-toned this year.

And lastly, the Pugs have been really busy.

They also somehow went on Etsy and used my credit card to refresh their collar wardrobes. (And got new tags of course too... Artie lost his, and P's is pretty worn and hard to read.) They each got a pretty collar and matching leash, and then I also got them each a biothane set for right now if we have to go to the vet, or if we go for a walk off property.
We did hunter green biothane with gold accents. Super excited for them to arrive!
My belt with Rio's hair is finally done also, and is on its way to me. I CANNOT WAIT for it to get here. LOOK AT IT:

I really love how it came out. So excited. His birthday would have been tomorrow so it's good timing.

That's it from here. How are things going with all of you?

Truthful Tuesday

I bought the Tipperary Mips helmet. For all the riding I'm not doing... I had a moment of weakness over the weekend. My 40th birthday is in 9 days, and obviously I will be celebrating that by myself... So you know. I had to treat myself. Plus, I mean, I'm going to be REAL weak and rusty when I do ride. And none of my horses have been ridden in ages. (Seriously, Pammon was last ridden in October. Eros I think February?) So a good helmet is really kind of a necessity don't you think? The chances of me not staying on are pretty good...
I got the one with the rose gold because I still plan to show (hahahahaha if that ever happens again) in my Samshield because I'm vain. And it's comfortable and fits well. And it was stupid expensive.
Anyway, the new helmet is this one:
So that's my confession today. I'll share photos once it gets here which should be Friday. I've heard they fit oval heads well, so fingers crossed!
Anyone else have one yet?

Thursday's Threads

Well. It's outfit day. You guys. My company computer died. So I'm sitting here not really able to do my job. I'm 100% capable of logging in from my personal computer but that's not allowed anymore. Pulling my hair out as I have a TON to do today. Waiting to hear back from IT if they have another machine for me. What a nightmare.
*UPDATE* had to drive into the office, but got a replacement laptop to use. It's extra weird when these weird days don't go how you expect.
Anyway, here's what I'm wearing to work sit at my desk today:
Winter has made a return to CT. High is 47 today. Of course it is. Since I'll have to actually leave the house to go to the office. (Ugh. Don't want to go.) So I wanted something warm, but also something that felt less wintry. So I went with Flamingos!

Sweater: Sewel
I forgot all about this sweater until I found it organizing my room. It's summery but also made for winter. Perfect for a day like today.

Belt: C4
It doesn't exactly match... but it's cute and I love the shiny pink buckle.

Jeans: True Religion
I went with dark denim today because the Flamingo beaks are navy on the sweater.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is donning this cute flamingo stretch bracelet with the apple watch.

Righty:
Right is donning the fitbit in this bright pink band, another flamingo bracelet, and an Hermes wrap bracelet that I got secondhand from Poshmark awhile back.

And that's it for today. Someday there will be riding outfits again. Just not today.

What's Up Wednesday

Another week in solitude. Gonna be honest, I'm pretty good at this sheltering in place stuff. Laundry is so close to being caught up. I've been getting a solid 30 minutes of exercise most days... Of course I miss the ponies horribly. And I miss being able to just go and do stuff. But this is where we are, and so I'm trying to embrace it. I have lots of projects for this weekend so hopefully I will stay motivated and get them done. It's really amazing how many available hours there are during a weekend when you don't have horses to take care of. (See? Finding the positive!)
This past week was a fairly busy one. Work let us have a half day on Friday which was nice because I had a couple of errands to run. (Anyone else kind of dread having to leave the house now? Small chance I'm developing agoraphobia. Time will tell on that.) Anyway, my first stop was to my mom's house. I had some things I needed to drop off for her. And she had baked me some delicious Passover friendly snacks. She left them on the bench outside her door for me, so I grabbed them, and dropped her things in their place. Then I stepped way back to my car, and she came out so we could chat for a few minutes from a safe distance. It's weird isn't it? Only talking to people from many feet away? But it was really nice to see my mom. I didn't stay too long since it was freezing cold out. But long enough to feel a little less like a recluse.
My other stop was to the barn to drop off supplements and the horses' fly sheets. I hadn't planned on them being there for fly season, so I had to order new ones in acceptable barn colors (eye roll). Fortunately, they were on sale since I had already splurged on new fly gear in MY barn colors.
So I got to see these faces!

I think they were happy to see me. Might have just been the treats I brought. Hard to say for sure. But Shiny nickered when she heard my voice and maybe I cried a little. I didn't take them out or touch anything, I only stayed long enough to tell them I love and miss them. And stuff them full of cookies of course. And maybe I cried like a baby on the way home. Whatever. These are weird times. I'll cry if I want to.
Since running those two errands was apparently very emotional and exhausting, the rest of Friday was spent snuggling pugs. Because that's the best way to handle anything really.
Saturday I made myself do productive things that I didn't want to. Like cleaning the house, especially the bathrooms. Only to discover everything was broken (ugh) so I didn't really get everything done I wanted. But hey, I'm not going anywhere! I can do it another day.
What I did finally get finished was putting my bedroom together!
Yeah, the treadmill kind of doesn't go with the decor, but I have no where else for it to go. So it stays. At least my sneakers match.
After completing those things, I finally tested out the purple Overtone conditioner I got for my hair. Thanks to my... um.... glittery strands, it looks like I have lilac highlights, which I think is super fun.

The color is pretty subtle since my hair is dark. But I like it! Something different and fun while I can't see my actual hairdresser. (Ugh, I miss her!)
And then there were still like ten million more hours left to the day so I took the pups out to enjoy the sunshine.

The day wrapped up with a zoom Passover meet up with some family and friends.
It was great to see everyone, especially my dad and step mom. My dad is growing a quarantine beard and he looks an awful lot like David Letterman these days... I think it's hilarious. He emailed all of us yesterday asking if he should shave it or let it grow. We unanimously told him to keep it going. You can tell we're all stir crazy because that's the highlight of life right now.

Sunday was somewhat less productive. It wasn't as nice outside, and I told myself if I was super productive on Saturday I could be a little lazy on Sunday. And so I was. I got some exercise, sat outside for a bit with the puggers, and made myself some day of the week bracelets to help me keep track.
Oh, and it was Pia's 14th birthday! My little girlie is getting up there, but she's still the cutest.
Work is busy this week. Price changes are coming and new allocations, and there's just lots to do. I'm glad for it though. Glad to have a job, and the days pass pretty quickly when they're busy. I have definitely turned into a dog though, popping up at the window when the UPS man comes to say thank you. (Hey, at least I haven't started barking yet. We'll see what next week brings.)

I mentioned last week about having bought some stuff for my horses that I don't really even have right now... So I took some photos of the stuff that's arrived. They're terrible photos since everything is still packaged mostly. But you can get an idea.
First up is the side pull Amanda made me buy. I ordered a horse and a cob because that's how things go now that I have a pony. Everything needs to be in two sizes. The horse size was a pre order, but the cob arrived along with the horse sized reins... ha. Good thing I don't need to use it yet I guess!

I like it! The leather feels nice, but the browband is kind of awful. Probably going to swap that out eventually.

Next, prior to deciding to stop going out to the barn, I had ordered halters and leads from Two Horse Tack. I figured I could keep them in my car and disinfect them with bleach or alcohol easily so I wouldn't have to touch the nylon ones that other people are touching all day long. Of course I bought them in both barn colors... (Seriously, there's something wrong with me.) Anyway, here those are:

I figure they'll still be useful when quarantine is over because this virus isn't going away any time soon. And it's always good to have extra halters around anyway.

Oh! This one I hadn't told you guys about. Horseloverz had my favorite ice boots in their last bogo sale. And they come in hunter now! So I got two full sets. Can never have enough ice boots.

Of course that doesn't mean I don't still want the space boots. But those can wait until I have horses that do stuff. Or you know, have horses in my life again.

And finally, the new fly gear!

Embroidery was free so I got their names on everything. I used to never do that (would only put my last name on things instead) but fly stuff doesn't generally live that long, so I'm okay with it.
And that's it. All my new loot, and the current events from the horseless Winthrop Corner Stable.

I hope you're all staying healthy and sane during this weird time in our lives. I know it's really hard. But we're all going to get to the other side as long as we're patient. Stay well friends!
