Oh man guys. I'm not sure how embarrassing this was as I'm not sure if anyone else noticed or not. I'm REALLY hoping the answer is they did not...
So Friday I had the vet and he had a full entourage with him. Two vet techs and his daughter who also helps out in a tech like capacity some of the time. Also visiting was my former weekend helper. (We love when she stops by for a visit!) I was wearing those brown tailored sportsman breeches that I keep saying aren't long for this world. Can you guess where this is going?
The first part of the visit was for Al as he was having his re-scope. The second part was a soundness check up for Shiny as I knew she was due for hocks. Part of that check involves me riding her on the flat while doc observes her, and then we do a whole bunch of flexions. It must have been during this part of the visit that my pants finally gave up on life. But I didn't realize it until much later. Like after everyone had left. Guys. I had a giant hole worn through the crotch of my breeches. Like GIANT. I'm not sure how I didn't notice in the saddle.
Rest In Peace brown breeches. And my dignity. LOL!
Now that I've gotten that off my chest (or crotch... whichever) I just wanted to give a quick plug for a new social network for equestrians. It's called Turnout HQ. An old friend of mine is working for them and invited me to join. Amanda over at Breed, Ride, Event has also started working for them. I have not, but it would be nice if they had a use for me... I could use some income... Ha! Anyway, it's free to look around, but if you want to participate you have to pay to join. It's only $10 for a full year, and $5 of that goes to a charity of your choosing, so it's pretty affordable. I've been poking around on there for about a week, and it's currently a little quiet since it's just starting, but I think it's going to be a great resource. They plan to have rulebooks up on there for easy access, lots of groups you can join for different topics, and even a marketplace. Which at some point when I have a moment I plan to start listing some of the stuff I need to sell. I also started a group on there titled Equestrian Bloggers, so if you decide to join, make sure you check out the group!
