1. I stay in bed too long every morning.
I had planned to get up and go running this morning. I really wanted to do that. I was completely gung-ho when I went to bed at a reasonable (ish) hour last night. I was even somewhat gung-ho when the alarm went off this morning. But I DIDN'T GET UP! I didn't go back to sleep. Instead I lounged around perusing Instagram until it was too late to go run. A nanny would certainly be useful here. He/she could take away my phone and potentially drag me out of bed if need be.
2. I do not regularly eat a healthy balanced diet.
I'm generally pretty good with lunch. I usually have some kind of salad or sandwich. But dinner can get dicey. I get in from the barn between 9:30 and 10 each night and by then I just want the food in my face asap. Often I eat a bowl of cereal or maybe throw something like fish sticks or chicken nuggets in the oven. Not terribly healthy. On a really bad night I might just skip dinner and stuff chips and ranch dip in my face. If I had a nanny who cooked, I would be eating healthy balanced meals for sure.
3. I have many things on my to-do list that aren't getting done for no good reason at all. I need to schedule car repairs, trailer servicing, and order a cabinet for my feed room. In my defense I did call to schedule the car today, but everyone was busy so I'm awaiting a call back. Anyway, a nanny would be useful here, because while I'm at work, she or he could probably actually take care of some of these things for me. Except that cabinet, that needs to be on me.
I guess that's only three reasons, but they're all pretty valid. If only adult nannies were a real thing.
Do you ever have a hard time getting yourself motivated to do the simplest things? What works best for you to get yourself back on track?
