Thursdays Threads

Outfit Day! And I'm tardy again. I was busy trying to decide which instant camera to get for the Photo Booth at Rio's birthday. Also, I am going to be really poor after this. I hope he appreciates it! Anyway, I was able to "ride" (I use that term loosely) last night so I have a riding outfit and a very casual work outfit for you today. We'll start with riding since that happened first.
So I have this new phone. And it takes LIVE photos! They're super creepy. If you touch the screen the photo actually shows me moving. Very Harry Potter. It won't work through the blog though so stop touching your screen. You know you tried it. Admit it. Anyway, here's what I wore last night up close!

Top: Under Armor
Oldie but goody! I really like Under Armour apparel, but not really the price tag. We have an outlet nearby so I've managed to score some deals at least.

Breeches: Smartpak

These are the new Piper breeches from Smartpak. They just arrived while I was in Florida, and I couldn't wait to try them out. I like them well enough. Don't love, but definitely like. They do that falling down thing that Equine Couture breeches do to me. But it's mostly just when I'm not on a horse. So I guess that's not so important? It's still kind of annoying though. They may get better once I wash them. The other Pipers I have did. Also, look how close the sweatshirt color is to the piping! Impressive!

Ok, on to my very casual work outfit:
I'm trying to think Spring with a little powder pink today!

Top: American Eagle Outfitters
I love that the gold is sparkly on here, but not in your face sparkly. Just enough. Also, how pretty is powder pink and gold?

Jeans: Wallflower
I found these on Zulilly a few weeks ago for super cheap and was excited to get them. They are reminiscent of some jeans I had in college, which makes me wonder if they're actually in style? But then also, I don't really care if they are or not, because they are awesome. They're super comfy, and fit perfectly. Not too long, not too tight. Just right. Ahhhh magic pants!

Belt: Mane Jane
I wore my gold Mane Jane belt strap today with the logo buckle. I seriously can't get enough of these belts. Go order one! GO! Sorry. Didn't mean to get pushy.

Shoes: Sperry Top Sider
Aren't these adorable? Metallic powder pink boat shoes! I got them several years ago in the kids section. They're the best.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty has some adorable bangles I found on Etsy up first. The pug bracelet cost me an arm and a leg, but it was totally worth it. The underside has Live*Love*Bark etched on it. So cute. The horsey wasn't too pricey, and is equally adorable. And of course you'll recognize my apple watch.

Righty:
Righty stacked them high today! First up is a stretch bracelet I made using real stone beads. I love the pink and bronze together. Next is a friendship bracelet from Nicole's Creations, followed by one from Nakamol. And last is an Hermes inspired ebay special which I love because GLITTER!

And that's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on? Have you tried the new SmartPak breeches yet?

Thursday's Threads

You'll never believe it.... I got up and RAN this morning! As scheduled with my running buddy Vanessa and her pup Pepper. It was glorious. And in celebration of my getting outside this morning, I will show you my running outfit AND my work outfit. I know you're excited.

ROOTD: (run outfit of the day for those not in the know)

But then I realized how cold it was this morning so I added a jacket:

Let's look closer!

Tops:
Tank- Under Armour
This one is super sheer so I actually wore another tank underneath. Both neon yellow of course.

Jacket 1: RBX
I love this jacket. It's really lightweight and is more of a shirt that happens to zip. It will be perfect for morning runs when you want a light layer that's easy to shed.

Jacket 2: Puma

You've seen this guy before! It's just a light shell, but surprisingly makes a big difference without being too hot. Those white lines you see are all reflective which I love. This jacket is great for low light runs, like early morning or nighttime.

Bottoms:
Shorts: Dansko
Tights: Under Armour
Some people are comfortable just running in tights... I'm not one of those people. No one needs to be seeing my cellulite through the tights. Trust me when I say I'm doing us all a favor!

Sneakers:
Mizuno Wave Sayonara
I love these sneakers so much. You've seen them before. I've proclaimed my love already. But we're still toes over heels for each other!

So that's my run outfit today. Vanessa and I had a great run. My Garmin was being finicky so I don't even know how long it took us, but we got 3 miles in. And also some great girl talk and catching up. A lovely way to start the day for sure!

And now... Here's what I wore to work!

I'm gonna just say it... this outfit makes me look chubby. But I don't really mind. I love the top. I think maybe I just picked the wrong pants? And let's face it... I AM a little chubby coming off this LONG winter. Hopefully that will improve with all the running and riding I'm getting back into! So let's look closer:

Top:
Rue 21 ($3!)
Chevron print makes me really happy. And it's double the happiness when it's mint green. Because you know... My name is Stacie and I'm a mint-a-holic. I found this top on the $3 rack at Rue 21 a few months ago. Chevron + mint + $3? You can't not buy that!

Pants:
Rock and Republic
I've had these awhile, so I don't remember what I paid for them. They're comfy and have a really cute gold stud detail on the sides. and pockets... Here I'll show you:

Cute right? I like them... even if they make me look chubby.

Shoes:
Union Bay

I've had these awhile too. I was trying to pick out shoes this morning, and was so excited when I realized these were a near perfect match! And you know... sequins!

Jewelry:
Lefty:
First is a mint and gold spike bracelet from Ettika. Next is a royal blue and brown wrap bracelet, but honestly I can't remember where I got this one! And of course you'll recognize my trusty watch.

Righty:
I just happened to have matching gold and enamel bracelets from Fornash in the EXACT colors of my top... go figure! I stuck that freebie I received from Ettika in the middle to break things up a bit.

That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on?

Thursday's Threads: Thanksgiving edition

Sorry I'm tardy with this post! But since today is Thanksgiving, family before blog. Sorry readers! But to make it up to you I'll give you a two for one today! Also, it's a photo-light edition as I forgot to take close ups, and I'm already in my jammies.
First up, my Turkey Trot outfit!

Every year for the past... I'm-not-sure-how-many years I've run the local 5 Mile Turkey Trot. Some years there is a big group of us, while other years there are less of us. But it's always fun to get a little silly and really enjoy the run! Last year Vanessa (pictured above on the left)  made these adorable turkey ear warmers for us. They are so perfect, because the last two years have been QUITE CHILLY! Yep, capital letters chilly. This year was warmer than last though thank goodness!
The tutus I made this year. I had stopped at the craft store just to get some stringing material for bracelets, and somehow I came home with tutu making supplies! I should have taken better photos, they came out really cute!
The socks are from Living Royal and are surprisingly nicer that I expected when I ordered them. Also, FYI, finding knee high turkey socks is not impossible, but it's SUPER CLOSE!
My leggings are from Under Armour and the amazing jacket is from Lululemon (a gift from my stepmom). My sneakers are Mizuno's. I am so in love with Mizunos. I wish I had tried them sooner.

Outfit #2, Thanksgiving dinner clothes!

Seriously my lack of closeups is really sad. This tan looking cable knit Ralph Lauren sweater actually has metallic gold thread throughout the whole sweater, but you can't tell from these pics. I thought that made it fancier. (We're a pretty casual family, so really more than adequate.) The jeans are from Seven, and have gold thread on the back pockets. The boots you've seen before. They are the amazing Tahari boots I got super duper on sale from DSW. But the best part of my outfit? I finally wore my ridiculously over priced belt!

Of course it was barely visible under my sweater, but I knew it was there. I'm so glad I splurged. This belt really makes me happy.

Thanksgiving dinner was such a nice time! There are a lot of us: My mom, my dad, my stepmom, my brothers, sister-in-law, niece, step-grandma, and my sister-in-law's family too! (Her mom, sisters and hubbies, and grandma.) We had a great dinner, and it was so nice to see everyone. I hope you all had a great dinner and time with family too!
