Thursday's Threads: Rainy Florida Edition

Outfit Day! Today is hopefully our only really bummer of a weather day, so today's outfit kinda looks more like something I would be wearing at home now... But it's still a fun change since it's not a riding outfit. Anyway, here's what I have on today:

It's currently 59 degrees (F) so long sleeves are a must today. Also, yay for a full length mirror in my stateroom!

Top: Tahari
I haven't been clothes shopping much in recent years (other than riding stuff) but I had some rewards certificates for Marshalls/TJ Maxx that I needed to use soon. I popped over to one of them earlier this month and found this cute top in the clearance section. It's perfect for today!

Belt: Tory Burch
This is an oldie. I got it years ago on one of these Florida trips at the Tory Burch outlet.

Jeans: True Religion
Technically these pants are a little out of style in that the rise is on the lower side. But I'm an old woman and will wear what I please, so they're still in my rotation. Plus, I love the stitching on them. True Religion are my favorite jeans. They're usually the appropriate length on me, and have room in the butt without the waist being huge. It's nice when you find a good fitting brand. Jeans can be tricky!

Shoes: Sperry
I mean.... I'm on a boat. So boat shoes are the obvious choice. I also have flip flops here, but they're not ideal in the rain.

And that's it for today! Short and sweet for a vacation day.

Thursday's Threads: Thanksgiving edition

Sorry I'm tardy with this post! But since today is Thanksgiving, family before blog. Sorry readers! But to make it up to you I'll give you a two for one today! Also, it's a photo-light edition as I forgot to take close ups, and I'm already in my jammies.
First up, my Turkey Trot outfit!

Every year for the past... I'm-not-sure-how-many years I've run the local 5 Mile Turkey Trot. Some years there is a big group of us, while other years there are less of us. But it's always fun to get a little silly and really enjoy the run! Last year Vanessa (pictured above on the left)  made these adorable turkey ear warmers for us. They are so perfect, because the last two years have been QUITE CHILLY! Yep, capital letters chilly. This year was warmer than last though thank goodness!
The tutus I made this year. I had stopped at the craft store just to get some stringing material for bracelets, and somehow I came home with tutu making supplies! I should have taken better photos, they came out really cute!
The socks are from Living Royal and are surprisingly nicer that I expected when I ordered them. Also, FYI, finding knee high turkey socks is not impossible, but it's SUPER CLOSE!
My leggings are from Under Armour and the amazing jacket is from Lululemon (a gift from my stepmom). My sneakers are Mizuno's. I am so in love with Mizunos. I wish I had tried them sooner.

Outfit #2, Thanksgiving dinner clothes!

Seriously my lack of closeups is really sad. This tan looking cable knit Ralph Lauren sweater actually has metallic gold thread throughout the whole sweater, but you can't tell from these pics. I thought that made it fancier. (We're a pretty casual family, so really more than adequate.) The jeans are from Seven, and have gold thread on the back pockets. The boots you've seen before. They are the amazing Tahari boots I got super duper on sale from DSW. But the best part of my outfit? I finally wore my ridiculously over priced belt!

Of course it was barely visible under my sweater, but I knew it was there. I'm so glad I splurged. This belt really makes me happy.

Thanksgiving dinner was such a nice time! There are a lot of us: My mom, my dad, my stepmom, my brothers, sister-in-law, niece, step-grandma, and my sister-in-law's family too! (Her mom, sisters and hubbies, and grandma.) We had a great dinner, and it was so nice to see everyone. I hope you all had a great dinner and time with family too!

Thursday's Threads

Happy Thursday readers! It's a brisk autumn day here in New England, and I had the CUTEST outfit planned complete with my new, ridiculously expensive belt. Unfortunately, the sweater dress I was planning to wear turned out to be completely see-through and the belt needs one more hole punched in it... Of course I found all this out ten minutes before leaving for work soooo.... Well, I hope you're impressed with my ability to throw an outfit together in ten minutes or less!

Is it me, or does checkerboard NOT flatter? So cute though. I suppose you can't have it all. Let's take a closer look at the outfit!

Top: Express by way of Marshalls ($13.00 on clearance!)
It's a knit top, and what I love most is that the pattern is on the back also. It drives me batty when a top has some cute pattern on the front and nothing on the back. You are visible to people from the front AND the back. I think clothes should do their job all the way around.

Pants: Vigoss
I've had these forever. I have this dark pair and two other that are the same yet slightly lighter in color. They're really stretchy and comfy. Go to pants!

Boots: Tahari by way of DSW
This photo does NOTHING for these boots. Seriously. They are amazing. Butter-soft leather, stretch panel for the perfect hug-your-leg fit. Gold toned hardware. LOVE! What I love most? I got them this summer at DSW for 80% off. Yep, I paid $35.00 for these.

Arm Candy:
Left:
I found this stirrup bracelet on Etsy a couple of years ago. It's a very dark brown leather with a brass stirrup. Had I worn my original outfit it was the perfect compliment to my overpriced belt. Maybe next time! And you all know my trusty watch of course.

Right:
I got a little crazy today and mixed my metals! Gold tone on the left, silver on the right. First is a designer inspired bangle from ebay. Next is a stirrup bracelet from the Ralph Lauren outlet. Normally I'm not a fan of these toggle type latches and they almost always fall off somewhere. But this one has a huge stick, so I think it will stay put. the rest of the bracelet that you can't really see is black, braided leather.

So that's it for today! Not as fun as my original plan, but not bad all things considered! What are you wearing today?
