Love 2 Run Virtual Race

Waaaaay back on Valentine's Day (right before I discovered I had no hot water, and a few hours prior to my truck breaking down in the middle of the road) I ran a virtual race. I had been trying to get back into running and figured signing up for a race was always the best motivation. But I was not motivated enough to run outside in the arctic air on icy roads. So I went looking for a virtual run. And since I had only been running a teeny tiny bit, I was excited to find the Love 2 Run virtual 2.14 mile race for Valentine's Day. I loved the idea of the shorter distance since my fitness was lacking. I still like to aim for a 10 min mile (or better!) on race day, so the shorter distance made that seem relatively attainable.
Since I planned to blog about my run, I decided to dress for the occasion:
I almost never wear race shirts in the actual race I get them at. And I pretty much never wear a bib for a virtual run because that just seems a little awkward. But I decided to wear both today because I miss racing.
I paired them with some old Nike Shorts and my Pug knee socks I found at Five Below a few weeks ago.

This pug looks bad ass.

And to complete my race outfit: My Mizuno Wave Hitogamis.

I felt great starting out. I was having a decent first mile when all of a sudden I hear a yelping. It was Artie. He waits until it's a dire emergency to let me know he has to go outside. Since I'm a good Mommy, I paused my awesome run to let the boy out. And then waited VERY impatiently while he took FOREVER to do his business. Seriously, this is why you should go OUT for your runs. No interruptions! But still, I appreciate him not going on the floor.

After all the that, I climbed back on the treadmill to kill the rest of my run. It wasn't as easy and as awesome as it started out. But I made it!
And more or less reached my goal too! Yay! This virtual run had the best loot too. Check out this medal!

The top actually comes completely off (I'm holding it in the top photo) to reveal little heart candies printed inside.
AND they sent actual candy hearts too!
Instead of the normal sayings, they have cute runner related quotes on them: Love 2 Run, Chase Me, You're my PR, Run 4 EVR. So CUTE!
I love a good virtual run. They aren't as exciting as an actual real live race, but it's fun to get out and earn a medal on your own schedule. And they're great motivation to get back at it.
Have you ever run a virtual race?

Thursday's Threads

Yay! Outfit day! No riding outfit this week, because we were rained out last night. And possibly again this evening, which would really be a bummer... Come on weather! But it wasn't raining at 6:45 this morning, so I DO have a running outfit today! We'll start with that, because it's new and I love the colors!

Mint and Lavendar/Mauve ish! I'm not completely sure what color you call the shorts... but I love them! Perfect with my favorite sneaks!

Top: I can't figure out what the brand was on this one.
This top has a built in bra, but not a padded one, so I added a sports bra just to keep things... smooth.
The top is a little snug, I maybe should have sized up? But I don't think it's terrible.

Shorts: Reebok
These are a nifty little two-in one. The looser short part on top is kind of a mesh, and then the tighter spandex portion is nice and full coverage. They didn't ride up at all while I was running, and may be one of my new favorites!

Sneakers: Mizuno
You've seen them time and time again! But I had to show them with this outfit, because well... MATCHNG SO HARD!
On a side note, Vanessa, Pepper, and I had a great run this morning. Our only break was for Pepper to take care of some business. My watch only pretend charged last night, so I didn't have a time, but it felt decent. Woohoo! Yay for good runs!

Ok back to outfits. My new Golden Tote obsession has led me to spend some time on their trading page on Facebook. And by trading they also mean buying. (Seriously, I have a problem.) So again this week, I am featuring a top from Golden Tote.

Top: Le Sample
See why I HAD TO HAVE IT?! PONIES!!!!! I'm a sucker for a little mixed media (i.e. the lace at the top) but when an item has PONIES ON IT?! I can't not have it. CAN'T NOT HAVE IT. Sorry for all the yelling. But I actually got this shirt last Friday and have been dying to show it off. Ponies! And lace! Ah! Love.

Pants: Seven Jeans
Oldies but goodies. We won't dwell since you've seen them before. But I will mention that I like this sort of rustic horsey feel to the stitching. I thought it paired well with the pony shirt.

Belt: Hermes (maybe)
I found this one on Ebay. It wasn't ultra cheap, but was cheap enough to think it's probably not authentic. But it's a REALLY nice one if that's the case. The belt itself is a chocolate color, and is alligator. Gorgeous! Possibly a bit manly... but gorgeous none-the-less.

Shoes: unknown brand
I think I found these on Zulilly? Or maybe I got them at H&M? I'm not sure. I've had them a few seasons now, and they've held up pretty well. VERY comfy and I thought they accented the lace at the top of the shirt today. Possibly a bad choice for the weather though! Oops.

Arm party!
Left:
In keeping with my pony theme, I wore all horsey bracelets today! The first is from Zulilly. You've seen it before, it's definitely in my top 10 favorites! Next is my watch, and then a horse shoe bracelet from House of Harlow.

Right:
First up on righty is my photo charm bracelet that you've seen a few times. Those are my ponies on there! The large bangle is one I got on ebay from a nice lady in North Carolina. I'm not sure of a brand, but I love the ponies on it in their blankets. Definitely has an Hermes air about it! (It's also definitely not Hermes!)

That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on? How's the weather?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Thursday all! I heard on the news this morning that it's Friday eve. I like the way the traffic lady thinks. It's actually a gorgeous day here in New England. The humidity has lifted and the sun is shining! I love summer. SO MUCH!
I mentioned yesterday about receiving my first Golden Tote. So today, I will give you a sneak peak at what I received since I'm wearing one of the pieces already.
Being at the horse show last week has left me in a preppy state of mind. Tucked in button down for the win! Also, on a side note, I need to switch out my shoes. My summer shoes are still tucked away and the boots are all still out. Thank goodness I never put away the Sperry collection, or I'd be wearing boots right now...

Top: La Reyna
This is one of the pieces I chose from Golden Tote and I am SO HAPPY with it! When I was looking through the gallery of items to choose from, this shirt was shown in white and I liked it but didn't love it. But when I opened the page for the shirt itself, I saw it was available in mint! AH! Then I LOVED it and had to have it. I am so glad I chose this! The colorful lines remind me a little of summers in the 80's, but totally in a good way. I decided to highlight the magenta stripe with my belt and shoes which you'll see closer in a bit.

Jeans: Seven
These are oldies that you've seen before. I love that they're dark and have a nice stitched detail, but are otherwise fairly nondescript. Makes them super functional in my wardrobe!

Belt: No Brand
Sorry that photo is blurry... it looked fine on my phone! This is one of my ebay finds, and I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it. Surprisingly, (or maybe not so much if you know me...) it goes with a lot of things in my closet!

Shoes: Sperry's (duh)
I found this pair at the end of last season and never even wore them! That little bit of shine you can see in the photo is actually gold speckling. I love the color on these!

Arm Party:
Left:
Lefty is wearing a chain bracelet with mint colored enamel from BaubleBar. And you'll recognize my trusty watch.

Right:
Righty has on a delicate wrap bracelet from Stella and Dot and a stretch bracelet I found at Loehmann's a couple years ago. I really love the mint and gold combo (as if you couldn't tell, right?)!

I finally got my lethargic bum out of bed this morning and met up with Vanessa and Pepper for our run. Thus, I also have a running outfit to share!

Top: OutRun38
I've spoken about OutRun38 a bunch already so I won't bore you. But I love sporting my OutRun gear on my runs! Not to mention, they have really comfortable tanks.

Skirt: Fila
I randomly went to Kohl's a few weeks ago and saw this skirt there. The neon green and pink stitching matches lots of of my running tanks, so I figured I should get the skirt. (Clearly I NEEDED it, right? RIGHT?!)

Shoes: Mizuno
These are my short run sneakers. I really like them; they're very lightweight and comfortable. I have tried running long in them however, and that was a HUGE mistake! They do not offer enough support for real distance running. Perfect for the 5K distance though!

So that's what I'm wearing today! What are you donning?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Thursday friends! Following in my last few editions, I have three outfits to share today! We'll go back wards this time, just to mix it up. Let's start with my work outfit:

I'm supposed to be not shopping... but you know stuff happens and you find sweaters for $10. I loved this green and when I got it home realized it would be perfect with my gradient pants!

Top: Retro-Ology
It's just an apple green cotton sweater. But I love the cut and the color so much! Good find!

Pants: Rue 21
I've had these jeans for a couple years, but I hadn't been wearing them because I thought they were really small. I pulled them out after getting the sweater though, and discovered they are in fact my size. Oops. Glad I looked! They're fun and different!

Shoes: Old Navy

I swear, my wardrobe has just been waiting for this sweater to find me. These shoes are kind of straw-like, and the pattern reminds me so much of the sweater. They're even the same color! I've had the shoes for awhile too. They're ridiculously comfortable for being inexpensive Old Navy brand.

Accessories:
Necklace: Swarovski
I saw this little watermelon on Zulilly and decided it needed to be mine. I want to get an extender for the chain though, it's a little shorter than I like. So summery though! Love it!

Clutch: Nila Anthony
Ok, so we all know I love me a good fancy-pants leather bag. Truth! But when it comes to kitch, I don't mind a synthetic one. Plus Nila Anthony bags are really high quality synthetic materials. I think this purse is adorable and hope I get a lot of use out of it.

Bracelets:
Left:
That stone bangle was another Zulilly find. I don't know the brand though, sorry! I love natural stone so this was a must-have for me! The next one is one of my own creations. I think the beads are actually plastic, but they look like stone. Close enough! And of course, my trusty watch.

Right:
I know, right?! Can you believe I had a bracelet that was ALSO the exact same shade as this sweater? Well I do. This one came from Little Black Bag. Long ago.... It's a nice quality piece, and kind of heavy... but not in a bad way.

Next up... Running Outfit!

It seems we skipped from Summer to Autumn already... So cold here this morning! In the 40's! Brrrrr. So I had to wear all the layers.
Top: Saucony
I had gotten this long sleeve before running the Ragnar Relay: New England. I knew I wanted bright clothes for the night runs! It's very thin which I like, and even has a pocket for my phone!

Shorts: Pony
I think you've already seen this pair. And admittedly the two-in-ones shorts are over kill with the leggings... but they matched and I was in a hurry, so I went with it.

Tights: Hind
I love this brand. I've only ever seen it at Marshall's and TJ Maxx, but I have never disliked anything from them. These tights are awesome. They don't fall down, but still aren't too tight.

Sneakers: Mizuno Wave Sayonara
Last pair of these that I have... I love them.

And last but not least.... Riding Outfit!
Top: Aeropostale
This is an oldy. And you've seen it before about a year and a half ago I think. I still love it, and I think it's perfect with these breeches!

Breeches: Annie's USA

Sorry for so many photos. But Annie's has these awesome new breeches with the rhinestones on the pockets. I HAD to have them! And they've made a few improvements to the breeches too. The knee patch now have euro seat and and these sock-like bottoms instead of the velcro. They're still too long for me, but the soft bottoms fold up nicely without bunching under my boots. Annie's suggested trying the children's next time, but I'm not sure my bum will fit...

Belt: No Brand
I found this on Ebay. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a knock-off Hermes? But I've never seen an Hermes buckle like this one... I like it anyway though. The teal belt is a great color, and the buckle itself is silver toned with gold-tone edges. Best of all worlds!

Boots: Tuffrider Sport
I think I've mentioned having these before, but don't recall if I've shown them to you or not. They're similar to the regals, but are a dress boot (meaning no laces). They also have an added elastic strip in the front. At first I thought they were hideously ugly, but I actually rather like them now. They are SO COMFORTABLE both in the saddle and out. Great for everyday.

What are you wearing today?
