Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit Day! Being that this could be Pammon's last chance to participate in Thursday's Threads, I chose him to be our model today. Here's what we wore:

I think this is a great color on him! He seems to like it too.

Look at him posing! He's kind of built from spare parts, but I think he's pretty cute anyway.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
This is a rare sight! Pammon with his lower lip NOT hanging! Haha! I love this shot of him, he looks so handsome! And yes, when Al's Joseph Sterling bridle finally arrived from its backordered state, I gave this one to Pammon. Poor kid, always getting the hand me downs.

Boots: Premier Equine

We went with navy boots to tie in with my outfit.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Smartpak
Half Pad: Ippico
I picked up a few of these light pads from Smartpak when they were on sale for $12. How could I not? I actually really like them! They're very thin. Heavier than a baby pad, but not by much. If you like a minimal pad, I recommend! Can't speak for longevity yet, this is the first time I've used it.

So that's what Pammon was wearing, and here's my outfit:

Back to navy I guess... but it's been awhile! And it is a nice color anyway.

Helmet: One K Defender Glamour
I nearly forgot about this helmet! It only has a couple years left until I have to retire it, so I'll try and wear it some more and get my moneys worth out of it. It does not have MIPS, but it still a nice helmet.

Top: Equine Couture
One of you bloggers made me buy this shirt a few years back. Probably Amanda, but might have been Karen. The sleeves are mesh which makes it perfect for a breezy summer day. I also have it in black. And they both had somehow been buried in the back of the dresser and I never wore them. Soooo... my bad. They're in the rotation now!

Belt: Blackfort
I'm generally not a big fan of these elastic belts, and I wouldn't buy one. But this one came to me in a subscription box, and it looks fab with this outfit. So I wore it. It's very nice if you like stretchy belts!

Breeches: Smartpak Pipers
I know, I know. I don't like Pipers. Never do. But I thought I might like these high rise ones better since my struggle with them generally is that they get saggy crotch. I figured the high rise might remedy that situation. It did not. I like the color though. So there's the positive. It's really the only one I can come up with. They were terribly pilled in the crotch area after just one day of riding. Granted, I rode four horses. But still. One day. Meh. Hopefully I'll learn my lesson and stop buying Pipers.

Boots: Imperial Riding
Listen. I know these boots are ridiculous. Fully agree. But I LOVE them. They're so comfortable, the fit is great, and they were very inexpensive. They were limited edition, so I don't think available anymore. I hope one day they make gold ones...

That's it for today! What do you guys think? Any favorites?

Thursdays Threads

Ah New England. You're so weird in the winter. I left work last night a few minutes early to avoid the snow squalls we were supposed to get. The weathermen were telling us that it would be extremely dangerous to drive and we would probably get 1-2 inches in about a half hour. So that's a little nuts. Fortunately, in my area this didn't happen. We got a light dusting of snow only, but the wind was really intense. Between the time I got home (around 5:20) and the time I headed over to Eros (about an hour) the temperature had dropped from 33 degrees to 15. So gross. And the WIND! Ugh. It was cold. The barn wasn't awful yet though, it takes a little while for it to catch up. Anyway, my point is, I DID hop on Eros last night, and I DID remember to take some pics of my outfit for you!
There were many layers. There was also an Eros head in my lap.
Here's a better outfit shot, minus the giant coat:

Layers my friends. Layers are a must.

Vest: Smartpak Hadley
Fleece top: Eddie Bauer
This angle is much more flattering...

The vest looks REALLY olive in these shots, but the top photos on this post more accurately show the true color. It's more of a sage green. I LOVE this vest and the jacket, though I do wish there was more room in the arms. Story of my life though. I apparently have enormous upper arms. Which used to be muscle, but currently is just, um... insulation.

Belt: Mane Jane
Rarely does a Thursdays Threads go by without a Mane Jane sighting. I paired my navy croc belt strap with the rose gold buckle. Speaking of rose gold, I cannot wait to get my Celeris boots in a couple months so I can make a rose gold riding outfit...

Breeches: Smartpak Piper, winter knit
I gotta be honest you guys. These breeches aren't warm. I thought they would be since they have WINTER in the name. But no. I have some corduroy breeches from Horsewares that I think I will ride in exclusively while it's cold. THOSE are warm. I have both colors even. And they're on sale at Horseloverz for under $50 if anyone needs any: https://www.horseloverz.com/english-riding-apparel-clothes/breeches/knee-patch-riding-breeches/horseware-polo-ladies-nina-corded-knee-patch-breeches

Boots: Tuffrider Regal
My favorite thing about the Regals this time of year is how many pairs of socks I can fit in them! I wore two last night, a pair of light wool with boot socks over them. But it wasn't enough. Double wool next time!

I wore my black One K helmet, but didn't grab a photo. You can see it in the first photo, sort of. And now on to what I wore to work today. Keep in mind this was the forecast when I got up, and so far, the numbers haven't changed (hey at least it didn't get colder):
That isn't a C for Celcius. It's just a cut off degree sign. That's Fahrenheit my friends. And that's effing cold. Warmer than the midwest by a lot though, so I'm trying not to be an ass about it. Regardless, it's effing cold.

My goal was to be warm but comfy. I think I accomplished that.

Sweater: Rue 21

I got this sweater a year or two, or maybe three, ago. It's not a super quality sweater given the source, but it's the longest one I have, and I think the braid on the side is really cute. It's also pretty heavy. But acrylic not a wool or cotton blend, so it could definitely do better in the warmth department. It's doing the job well enough though.

Belt: Harry's Horse
I bought this snaffle belt in the fall when I was filling up my cart with a rose gold outfit for the ponies. I wish it were a tad wider, but I like it a lot anyway.

Jeans: Lucky Brand
Ha, it really didn't matter what pants I wore today, you can hardly even see them! But I wanted a fairly heavy jean. These were a solid choice. I actually just got them at Marshalls where they had these and another pair of Lucky Brand on sale for $18.00. Yes please.

Boots: HKM
Technically, these are meant to be riding boots. but they're fabric and seem to me like they'd be really slippery. I bought them to wear in the cold and snowy weather, not for riding, so I can't really judge. They are lined top to toe with faux shearling, and I kind of love them.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
I know. My arm parties are pretty redundant lately, but I'm really just loving these bracelets! Sorry! Maybe next week I'll mix it up. Maybe not. It's my blog, I can do what I want.

Righty:
I added an H bracelet to this stack today, and I think it's working. I'm so in love with that bit bracelet in the middle. They actually have one in hunter green leather with a rose gold bit, but I can't pay retail for that. Hopefully someone will get it and consign it way under value so I can have it.

That's it from here today! Hope you're all staying warm! Any favorites from this post? Or want to recommend your favorite winter breeches?

Thursday's Threads

I've been kind of mixed up on what day it is all week, and as result, I forgot to take riding outfit photos yesterday... So you're going to get dirty laundry, flat Stacie photos instead... Might as well start there I guess!

I'm like, way skinnier this way....

Top: Eddie Bauer
This is that fun fleece that's actually knit instead of fuzzy. I bought this along with a matching packable down jacket and vest. I wore the jacket yesterday too! They're all a couple years old now, but I honestly still am happy with them. Love the teal color!

Belt: C4
I LOVE Thelwell's ponies. I have most, or possibly all, of the books. When I discovered that C4 had Thelwell belts, I immediately got this one. I have a couple others now too. They're just so cute! And this one goes great with the pink breeches.

Breeches: Smartpak
Yeah... I bought the breast cancer awareness breeches from Smartpak this month. I used to have a pink pair of Tailord Sportsmans that I loved, but alas, they stopped fitting ages ago and went off to a new home. So obviously when I got the email about these, I was like, "yep."

Socks: KJ's Creations by Dreamers and Schemers
Can't have too many unicorn socks. #fact

I wore my Regal boots and black One K helmet with this outfit. I was going to wear my awesome pink helmet, but I haven't decided if I'm brave enough to actually wear that in public... I'm sure I will though.

And here's what I'm sporting at work today:

I say all the time how I'm not a red person, but that I like buffalo plaid... Well it seems that I also am ok with red roses.

Sweater: Philosophy
This was on the clearance rack at Marshall's awhile back. I passed over it a few times, and kept thinking about it, so I went back and got it. I have zero regrets, it's a fun sweater!

Belt: Express
I actually got this belt from Express when I was in college. You can kind of tell since I have to wear it on the very last hole now... I was so excited when florals came back because I knew this belt was still in my collection.

Jeans: True Religion
I've had these FOREVER, and you've seen them a bunch. They're a really dark wash with black undertones. They fit perfectly. Top ten on the favorite list for sure.

Shoes: Lucky Brand
I bought these little booties at the end of last year for super cheap. And I'm glad I did since now I have a sweater to match! I've always found Lucky Brand shoes to be a nice quality and very comfy. These are no exception.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is wearing a little rhinestone coil bracelet, that I think came from Express long ago. The pretty snaffle bracelet I found on Poshmark.

Righty:
Righty is wearing a coupld of friendship bracelets from Ettika and a bangle from Kate Spade. I could have sworn I had a red rose bracelet, but alas, I could not find it today. Maybe next time!

So that's it for today! Sorry for the lame attempt at a riding outfit. I'll do better next week! Any favorites from today? What are you wearing?

Thursday's Threads

Happy outfit day! My riding outfit is lame and half-hearted so we'll start off with today's work outfit. Leah's been waiting for a ridiculous theme outfit, so I'm happy to oblige today!
Foxes! I can't wait to wear some cute themed dresses. But since we're on fifth winter here in New England, that seems like a far off dream. But today, we have foxes!

Sweater: Run & Fly
I actually own a few fox sweaters, but for some reason, most of them are navy. My fox shoes are hunter green (you'll see soon, be patient) so I was super excited when I saw this fox cardigan in GREEN! Yay!

Belt: C4
I wish my belt was green... but the black works with everything so no complaints. Sorry this photo is terrible.

Jeans: Kankan
I was going to wear a darker pair of jeans, but I decided to switch to these instead. This pair is a little extra stretchy and comfy, and that's what I was feeling today.

Shoes: TUK
I know! I can't either. They're just the cutest shoes ever in the whole world. Look at the little tale at the back! And the bows! I love these shoes. I also have a green fox dress that's ADORABLE with them.

Accessories:
Bracelet and ring: Kate Spade

Cutest little foxies! I love Kate Spade's kitchy jewelry. It's so fun! (Especially when you find it after it goes on sale.)

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is wearing a SUPER CUTE fox bracelet from Lilo. The leather is a very close match to my watchband. So fun!

Righty:
Righty is donning this adorable stack from Hampton Ivy. They make some cute horse bracelets too!

Ok, on to last night's riding outfit. I wasn't sure if I was actually going to get to ride last night. It rained all day long, and then the wind kicked up like crazy. I threw some clothes in the car just in case, and figured we'd see how the day went.

You already know I rode Jampy lightly in the puddles. This is what I wore to do that! I didn't grab snaps of my helmet and boots, since you've seen them a million times. It's Greenie and my Regals! Here's the rest though:

Sweatshirt: Outrun38
I grabbed this sweatshirt a few years back when I ran the Outrun38 5K. It's a great cause to support, and who doesn't need more giant hoodies? It's just the perfect amount of worn in now, so I love it.

Belt: Mane Jane
I've been wearing this one a ton lately! Sorry for another terrible belt photo today. Guess I need to work on that!

Breeches: SmartPak Pipers
I got these awhile back when they were having a sale.... I also might have ordered a couple of pairs yesterday when they were 30% off. Why can't I resist a Piper sale? They're not my favorite breeches. But the colors are so fun! Anyway, these are the hunter green with tan patches. The color is actually somewhere in between an olive and a hunter, but I like it. I'll have to see which of my green boots looks better with them.... or maybe they'll have to go with the brown ones. Such decisions.

And that's it for today! Any favorites from today? What are you wearing? How's the weather where you are?
