Truthful Tuesday

So funny story... I was going to post today about my love of Matryoshka dolls. But while I was shooting photos of my fanciest doll, I managed to lose the littlest one. Sadly, it's not the first time. I've also lost the littlest piece to my very first Matryoshka doll. Perhaps I should stop handling the collectibles?
Thankfully I managed to get a few shots before losing the itty bitty doll. **Note: I didn't realize how careless I had been with spacing in these pictures, so I apologize if you're need for order gets a little itchy... Mine totally has looking at them!**
This doll I bought from a Russian seller on Ebay. She has (had) a total of 20 pieces that all fit into one.
These 20 piece dolls are pretty hard to find, and can get very expensive. I got a great deal on this one, thankfully since I can't be trusted with nice things. (Clearly.)
These are the four smallest. That little one at the end that looks like a bead? Here it is in my hand (just minutes before it's escape).
Can you even see it? It's that spec between the two lines that run sort of parallel on my hand there. That's how TINY it is was. You can imagine why I couldn't find it when it jumped ship.
So now you know not only that I have more than one doll (but I mean, they're not super creepy like some dolls right?) but also that I'm terribly clumsy and lose tiny things.
Anything you need to confess today? Tell me all about it in the comments!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! My favorite day! Since last week was so kitchy, I decided to somewhat class it up today. Plus the temps outside are dropping like it's hot... but it's not hot. Not hot at all. Waaahhhhh. I miss that 50 degree winter we were enjoying. Also, it snowed again this morning. But enough of my whining, let's see what I'm wearing today:

I'm bundled up for a long cold day in my refrigerator of an office. Let's look closer:

Sweater: French Connection
This is one of my most comfortable items of clothing EVER. I love the knits from French Connection. They're so tightly woven they almost seem like a sweatshirt, and are as soft as can be.

Vest: Pink Rose
This knit vest is padded with faux shearling. It's ridiculous how warm it is. I may look like I gained 70 lbs when I wear it, but I don't care. I'm warm! Throw some toggle buttons on anything and I will buy it. Just FYI if you're trying to sell me something.

Jeans: Premier by Rue21
I've had these awhile. They're the perfect dark wash jeans. Just a little bit of stretch, the length is perfect, they're straight leg so they look great inside boots or with boat shoes. And most importantly, there's a HORSE on each back pocket. Obviously these get a lot of use.

Boots: Steve Madden
This pair has been buried at the bottom of Mt. Tall Boots for much of the winter, but I carefully deconstructed said mountain just for today! These fit me like a glove, and are really comfortable. I love that the zipper is angled, the material is real leather, and they are super comfy.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is sporting a black and rose gold Gucci inspired bracelet, and my Hermes apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is all fancied up today! First is a gold and charcoal bracelet from Pura Vida, next is a rhinestone wrap bracelet from Express, followed by one I beaded myself, and lastly a bangle from Express.

That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on? Do you have a favorite piece from today?

What's Up Wednesday.... Night!

Happy Wednesday friends! It was a busy day at work, hence my tardiness with this post. Not much terribly exciting around here other than snow, snow, and then a little more snow. Last Friday we had a full on blizzard, which didn't leave a ton of snow (maybe 8 inches) but the roads were awful and it was very windy. That couldn't keep me home from work though... we were having a Super Bowl Pot Luck Buffet that day! Nothing comes between me and a nacho bar. NOTHING.

Plus I needed all that extra food to power my snow shoveling. Right? Right.
Saturday morning was cold but sunny. So I headed outside with my Canon Rebel to take cute pictures of the ponies.

Sunday was pretty similar to Saturday. No riding with all this snow everywhere. Boooo.
Is snowed again Monday everyday so far this week. Not too much more accumulation thankfully. But I'm ready for winter to be over now! This does not look appealing:
Yeah. That's a -8 for the overnight low Saturday. NEGATIVE EIGHT! NO! Not ok. The dogs and I are planning to do this until the temps reach 80 again:
That's about it from here really. Pony grooming, snow shoveling, and eating fattening food is my routine at least until next week.

What are you up to this Wednesday? And if you haven't already, please visit yesterday's post and answer my poll!

Truthful Tuesday... and an important question for all of you!

Today's confession: I'm utterly behind on posts! It's practically mid way through February and I haven't shown you all my Nicole's Creations from January, nor my Heart to Horse box... NOR the Pugs' Barkbox which I actually planned to share. I blame this all on my photo issues, but really I'm just super behind. Hopefully I'll get caught up soon!

This leads me to my important question for all of you. I attempted to add a poll to make this interactive, easy, and fun. But I am barely computer literate and was unsuccessful. We can still make this work! Please leave your preferences in the comments section instead of clicking a box which would have been way better... Suggestions welcome too, so please feel free to be specific when answering (or not, I just want to hear from  you). Obviously, you can choose as many answers as you'd like.

What do you want to see on the blog:
a. Product reviews/comparisons
b. Subscription reviews
c. More horse stuff!
d. More running stuff!
e. More shopping hauls (think Moxie, Golden Tote, or just a mall excursion perhaps)
f. Amateur at Large is perfect.
g. Other

I can't wait for some feedback! Talk to me in the comments!

Thursday's Threads

Happy Outfit day everyone! It's a bit dreary out today and rather rainy. But I'm just glad it's not snowing! It's supposed to tonight though.... Go home weather, you're drunk! In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl and a desire for comfort food, I decided to get a little kitchy with my outfit today:

Burgers and Fries! Mmmmmm... outfit. And now I'm hungry. Let's look closer!

Cardigan: Asos
I love that the elbow patches are a burger and fries! Hahaha, cracked me right up when I found this on the Asos website. They didn't have my size, but since it's an open cardigan, I figured I could size up and it would be fine. It's a little big, but not bad.

T-shirt: Savage Base
I found this on the Sammy Dress website... It's an Asian company known for it's incredible deals and terrible customer service. This is actually a men's shirt, but Sammy Dress tends to run really small. I took a chance and ordered it, and it's perfect! I think it's hilarious.

Jeans: Vigold Jeans

These are OLD! Oldies but goodies of course. They are bootcut and are magic pants in that they fit me when I'm chubby and when I'm not. So they've stuck around. I like the two-toned stitching!

Belt: No Brand

I found this on ebay and was super excited about it. The fact that the buckle is the seatbelt from a Mustang is just the cheese on the burger isn't it?! (See what I did there? Instead of icing on the cake. Hey, at least I find me funny.)

Shoes: Steve Madden
You can't have a fast food outfit without some glitter now can you? These are actually from the kids department. I found them at Marshalls last year. I've worn them a ton, and they haven't lost their sparkle.

Jewelry:
Necklace: Claire's
Do you want fries with that? Yes. Yes I do. This is so cute. I just wish the chain was gold toned. At least the fries are!

Lefty:
Lefty has a cuff with what looks like a Lapis stone, but I'm pretty sure is actually plastic. I had gotten it to match my Rolex. Which I would have worn today, but I'm determined to have a perfect "move goal" week on the apple watch. So maybe next time...

Righty:

Righty is donning a couple of Ettika bracelets first, love the blues on both of them! The other is a stretch bracelet I made last year. It has my name on it, two dark ponies, two pugs, two blue ribbons, and FRIES! Clearly, it's biographical.

That's what I'm wearing today! What do you have on?!

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's been a relatively uneventful week here in Connecticut. The weather has been oddly mild, evening hitting the 60 degree mark the other day!

The warmer temps have left me feeling much more motivated. I hope they stick around! Are you sitting down? No? Ok, I'll wait... Ready? I actually have run on the treadmill TWICE in the past week! Not for very far. But I'm happy to be getting back at it!

My favorite part about the spring like weather is getting to do more with the horses. My weekend helper needed Saturday off this week, so I took advantage of the extra time with the ponies and tried to play with the camera some more. Hopefully I'll get that thing all figured out soon!

And I finally found Jamp's missing shoe. Too little too late I guess though.

Saturday evening was the Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association's awards banquet.

Jampy and I won the Adult Equitation Division and the High Point Adult award. Yay Jampy! I of course was excited to collect our loot, but I was also really excited to wear my horse dress I bought a few months ago. Here's a close-up:

And here it is with all the prizes:
I've won the trophy I'm holding three times now, and that platter that Holly is holding is on it's second year with me. And I'm ashamed to admit that I have not yet had either of them engraved. This is the year though, since I'm not planning to campaign for this award in the coming year. Plans change though right?! We shall see how the year goes. Either way, they WILL be engraved this year!

Sunday was supposed to be another spring-like day, and I planned to take FULL advantage of it. Once the horses were in from morning turnout, I tried to drag the ring so I could RIDE!

Unfortunately, the ring was still frozen on the one long side, but with two horses who haven't been worked in weeks, I didn't really need that much space anyway. The thawed out section was pretty muddy though, so I couldn't lunge. Yikes. Thankfully I had a friend stop by to visit so I had a witness in case the kids tried to kill me! Jampy did a little walk trot but Romey just went for a nice walk. Oddly, the ring was getting more muddy instead of less. I'm not exactly sure how or why that would happen. But it did. So we took it easy. It was just nice to get on!

Since they really haven't worked, I didn't ride Monday evening in the dark. Jamp and Romey are both a little wild, and I'm not sure I want to open that can of worms in the dark!
The short kids had a nice week too. We haven't gone for a walk yet, but we've had lots of cuddles! They're the cutest.

Well, that's what's been up this Wednesday! What's up with all of you?!
