It seems like I've just been doing stupid things left and right lately. I think maybe my brain froze in the arctic temps? Can that happen? Perhaps I should just hibernate until it gets above 45? So this is a good one...
A couple weeks ago, on the day I was heading to Florida, I decided to stop and have breakfast at my local country store. They have decided to close up shop after ten years and that would be my last chance to go.

End of an era... |
So I go in, order at the counter, and sit down to wait for my breakfast. I took my time and chatted with the ladies that work there. When I was done, we all hugged good bye and I got in my truck and drove back home. I made up the horses' dinners, fed lunch hay, and did whatever else needed doing before I went to the airport. And then I realized my error.... You guys. I didn't pay for my breakfast! Face palm. So I got in the truck, drove back to the store and was like Hey guys! I came back! They were like hey! What do you need? And I was all, well... I stole my breakfast this morning, so I need to pay you... They were both like, oh I thought you paid the other one! You could have gotten away with it! Go out with a bang! Haha!
So that my friends, is the story of how I tried to steal breakfast from a restaurant that was already going out of business.
Have you ever done something like that? I think the lesson here is that if I order at a counter, I better pay when I order, or I will definitely forget.
The best part of this story is that they didn't realize 😂
ReplyDeleteRight? Totally could have had a free breakfast! I could never do that on purpose though.
DeleteIt's funny that they didn't even realize either but also good for you for going back! It shows how much you care for your community.
ReplyDeleteI'm honest to a fault (when I'm aware at least). Twice at Marshalls the person ringing missed charging me for an item, and I've gone back every time to pay for it. I couldn't handle the guilt! Or the bad karma that might come from it.
