Truthful Tuesday

Oh man. You guys. I did a thing. And then I did another thing. Because you know, if you do a thing, it needs all the other things to match right? Should I elaborate? Ok... Here goes. Today's confession. I bought some stuff I REALLY don't need. Like REALLY REALLY REALLY don't need.

Let me first remind you about this purchase a few months back (which I love love love love love!)
I'm mostly referring to the helmet, though I love the entire set-up. So I have the fancy helmet. And I may or may not have ordered something to match it when I was at Equine Affair in November. Still not quite admitting to that... but here's a spoiler:
But that there isn't today's confession. This is worse. Because at least those things above are my barn colors!
These purchases aren't. They're just pretty, and well, I like options. Green and tan (or gold) don't go with every outfit after all...
Ok, well I was looking for some navy paddock boots to go with some half chaps I got last year that I have yet to wear. So I found these and got them:
But then I decided maybe I'd rather have different half chaps... Ones that went with the boots... Cause you know. The things should match. So I also got these:
And I was all set to stop there, because you know, I do pretend to have some self control now and then... But then today I got an email from Big D's about helmets being on sale. And somehow this thing fell into my cart:
Ugh. I feel better having admitted all that. I think this is the direct result of my not riding. I mean if you're not riding, you definitely need more stuff for riding right? Sadly, the half chaps and paddock boots were on back order, so I won't even see them until March. But the sparkly helmet should be here soon!
All told I spent under $500. So that's like a couple one day shows right? And I didn't go to any alllllll last year, so really, I totally had this money saved up. Right? RIGHT?!
Just say yes.
Anyone else need to confess to some unplanned splurges? Direct result of all the after holiday sales? Can you recommend a good twelve step program for my ridiculous shopping problem?

  1. Ooooh I love the twinkly helmet! I think the whole lot was a very justifiable purchase... you gotta match ;) I'm excited to see the ROOTD when everything arrives!

  2. I was definitely guilty of this after Christmas. I bought a full set of the ME black/turquoise dressage boots and a knock off PS of Sweden bridle.... Oops?

    1. The boots and half chaps are both Cavallo. I got them from Cork Farm Equestrian in the UK. I'm not sure if they have them here in the states.

  7. I pulled the trigger on an Ogilvy baby pad and a new cover for my half pad. I felt very slightly guilty when I logged it in my equine expenditures spreadsheet!

    1. I could never keep such a log. I'd feel so much shame... SO. Much. SHAME.
