Spring Cheer Exchange!

http://floralandfudge.blogspot.com/2015/03/spring-cheer-exchange.html

My friend Katie over at Running a Ragnar let me know about a Spring Cheer exchange happening amongst some bloggers she follows, and I was PSYCHED to join in the fun! Who doesn't love presents and spreading the word about new blogs to follow?! The event was hosted by Rachel from Floral and Fudge and Astleigh from Hill Collection.
I sent a box to Shelly over at The Queen in Between. My box took forever to get to her, and I'm so sorry she had very little time to get her post together... Hopefully she loves her items though! I had so much fun picking everything out for her, and was able to snag some great deals to really fill her box at the $15 limit!
My awesome box came from Whitney at Work it Mommy, all the way from California! She stopped by over here to see what kinds of things I like, and she really "got" me! I loved everything in the box! I have to apologize for my not so great photos, I thought the natural light would be so perfect... but not so much... You'll have to trust me that everything is totally me and gorgeous! So let's see what Whitney sent!

The color scheme was my FAVORITE! Mint and pink! What's better than all things mint and pink? Nothing that I can think of.

Mani-Pedi supplies:
Mint green toes separators with the cutest file and clippers I've ever seen! I am so needing these for
the disaster situation my nails are in...

Polish!

I had to include the picture of the wrapped polish just because it was so adorable! I love this bright pink color and can't wait to try it out!

EOS Strawberry Lip Balm and Pony charm!

Again, Whitney did the cutest job of packaging everything together. I love that little pony charm, and I can't wait to make something with it! Believe it or not, this is my first EOS lip balm. I don't know what I've been waiting for, this stuff is fantastic! Smells great and really moisturizes.

Picture Frame:
This springy frame is adorable, and I love that Hello Spring floral print inside! I may leave it as is!

Notebook:
One can never have too many notepads. And if it's pink, all the better!

Paper Straws!
These mint paper straws are so cute! They have such a springy feel to them, I can't wait to sit outside and enjoy a cold lemonade with these!

Treats!
These caramels are homemade in a shop near Whitney, and they are DELICIOUS! There were actually three of them, but... well... I ate one before I took the photo. Oops. They're so tasty!

Many thanks to Rachel and Astleigh for hosting this fun exchange/link up! It was so much fun to choose cute items for someone else, and also to see what a fellow blogger would choose for me! I definitely want to participate in something like this again!
Have you ever done an exchange like this? What sorts of things did you include?

Thursday's Threads

I've been super lazy this week about planning ahead with my outfits. It's been more of a mad scramble out of bed and throw on whatever is clean kind of week. I did however manage to at least match. Here's today's outfit:

Sweater and jeans is always a safe way to go in the winter time! (Please excuse my mountains of shoes in the background.) Let's look closer:

Sweater: American Eagle by way of TJ Maxx

I'm such a sucker for cable knit... I like the big cowl neck on this one, and it's loose boxy fit. Perfect for all the holiday goodies I've been packing into my belly!I love the marled pink and gray; makes it more fun than just a regular solid color. There's a chance if they still have them after the holidays that I may need this in another color...

Pants: Hot Kiss
I'm confident you've seen these before. They're a light gray denim with a distressed look to them. But NO HOLES!  I don't really like the pre-ripped jeans. At least, not to wear to work. It's casual here, but I think that's probably taking it too far.
This color is perfect with the sweater as it makes the gray pop. Last time I wore this sweater with navy blue and it looked great, but I think it's better with the gray pants.

Boots: Sugar
These are a short boot, and truth is... They're from the kids department. I wear a size 6 which is the same as a children's 4. They are canvas with pink laces and pink elastic inserts on the sides. They go perfectly with the sweater! Perhaps too much gray on gray with the pants? I'm undecided there. But I think it works.

Arm candy:
Left is sporting my horse bracelet that you're going to get tired of soon. (Sorry, not sorry, I love this one!) Also a friendship bracelet, that I THINK might be Shashi, but honestly I'm not sure, and my trusty gold watch.
Righty has a friendship bracelet from Gypsies and Debutantes and a wrap bracelet from Zulilly.

Well that's it from here! What do you think? Too much pink? Too much gray? Just right? What are you wearing today?

Thursday's Threads

I haven't seen the sun in a really long time. REALLY LONG. It's been raining since the dawn of time here in New England. Finally today, the rain has stopped. Well kind of. It's snowing instead.
Sheesh. The sun has to come out someday. Sadly, I don't think Annie is right about it coming out tomorrow. From what I hear, we MIGHT see it Saturday. Maybe. For a minute.
But anyway, that's not why you're here! Wanna see today's outfit? Ok, here ya go:

Let's start at the bottom today!
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
I picked my outfit out last night and thus was unaware there would be snow to contend with. The weatherman said flurries! I need to stop listening to him. So while these weren't the best choice for the weather, they're still adorable. Metallic pink anything makes me super happy. SUPER HAPPY! These shoes aren't leather, but they're a very soft and acceptable faux version. Bonus that the snow won't ruin them.

Pants: Almost Famous
You've seen these before, so we won't harp on them. Black jeans, gold zippers... what else do you need?!

Top: Ralph Lauren Polo
I'm a sucker for that little polo pony. I especially love this guy since he's so detailed. And you know, the sweater is pink. Must have!

Accessories!
Left hand:
Both bracelets are from Zulilly. I'm not actually sure of the brand on either, but I think they're adorable. Especially the horse one. It reminds me of the super expensive Hermes bangles, but you know for like 1/16 the price. It's hard to see in the photo, but the bow bangle is covered in pink rhinestones and glitter. Oh look, SHINY!

Right hand:
Clearly pink and sparkly is the theme today, in case you hadn't figured that out yet ;). The teeny tiny rhinestone bracelets are from Julep, the slightly larger one is from Express (it was part of a multi color set) and the last one is from Baublebar.

Bag: Charmes
You know what's tough? Trying to get a decent photo of metallic leather in fluorescent work lighting. This bag is also from Zulilly, and it's full of amazing shininess. When I was a kid I had a metallic pink backpack, very similar to this. Only back then it was faux leather. I believe in the 80's that was called Pleather. Either way, this is the grown up version in genuine leather. It has a matching wallet too. It's soft and floppy, and I love it so much!
I'm impressed by how well the shoes match given that they are made from different materials. But seriously, you can't get much closer than this:
What's your opinion on shiny things? Do you ever buy things because they remind you of your childhood? Does that make me stuck in the past? Probably. I'm ok with it though!
