Thursdays Threads

Happy Outfit Day! Today is supposed to be the last day of our heat wave. I'm not sure we're actually going to qualify for a heat wave day where I am though, as I think the high is under 90. But humidity is at 86% so it's still pretty stuffy out there. I'll take it though. I love summer! Since I shorted you all a riding outfit last week, I'll start with my 4th of July riding outfit this week:

I'm not a big fan of riding in tank tops, but when I finally got to Bradley's barn yesterday it was after 1 pm and 96 degrees before the heat index. So tank top it had to be! (And also Gatorade and lots of water... for both of us!) Fortunately, Bradley's barn is very close to the shore, and they actually had a lovely breeze!

Helmet: One K
Low quality selfie anyone? This is my navy One K snakeskin helmet. Obviously, I didn't get a great shot of it though. I wanted to wear my sparkly Charles Owen navy helmet, but the One K has much better ventilation. So I went with that.

Tank: Rue 21
I'm not sure why, but I really like single color tie-dye.

Belt: Mane Jane
I was at first planning to wear my Duftler spur belt, but it didn't fit in the belt loops on these breeches. So I went with Mane Jane instead. You can never go wrong with Mane Jane! (I also am wearing this today, and forgot to snap a photo. How convenient that I have this one already!)

Breeches: Horseware
I originally ordered these breeches because the color was called cherry, and I thought it would be more of a pink/red. But they are RED. Which normally isn't my color. But I decided to keep them because they are perfect 4th of July breeches! The only problem with them, is they have a lot of stitching and seams on them, specifically in the calf area. It was so hot and sweaty, all of those seams were rubbing yesterday. So these are maybe better on cooler days.

Socks: CHJA Finals
These socks were included in our welcome packet at CHJA medal finals one year. I like them, but they weren't printed very well and have always looked faded. Still very functional though!

Half Chaps: Cavallo
Paddock Boots: Cavallo
Spurs: Colortack
Spur straps: Stacie Originals
It seemed no matter how I turned I was in a shadow, so I included that photo of my leg hanging out of the car for color representation. These half chaps and paddock boots are SO COMFY! The leather is soft like butter. I'm not sure how durable they'd be to every day use, but I do love them!

And now for today's outfit!
Kinda dark for summer I guess? But I've been dying to wear these bracelets I have on, and this top matched. So here we are!

Top: Jessy B
PONY SHIRT! I love pony shirts. Especially when they're disguised as "blouses" and are work appropriate! The colors are fun on this one too. Though so many of these horses are upside down. I think the print might have worked better if they flipped the other way.

Jeans: Hudson
I snagged these on sale at Marshalls not too long ago, and they might be my favorite jeans. I love the color, plus they are really soft and stretchy.

Shoes: Sperry
These were an Ebay find, and not long after I purchased them (for $25 plus shipping) I saw them on Sperry's site on sale for $80. So that was a good deal for me! They're navy patent, but they photograph kind of black.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty is wearing a vintage Manelli bracelet that came from Poshmark, and my trusty apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is donning an Hermes wrap bracelet that I negotiated down on Poshmark. I LOVE the color, and I just hope it's actually authentic. Otherwise I overpaid. It seems to be though. Looks exactly the same as the one my parents gave me, just a different color. The other bracelet came from Ebay, and it matches the leather one almost perfectly! Pretty stack!
That's it for today! Any favorites? Did you dress in red, white, and blue for the 4th?

Thursday's Threads

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope you were able to enjoy the day with people you love and way too much food. I definitely did! My helpers had the day off so I did chores and then rode early before heading over to the family feast. Only problem was half my ring was frozen so we rode on a pretty small circle. Hey, at least we got to ride! Anyway, I like to go in order, so let's start with my horsey outfit.
I was going to wear my green George Morris breeches but it was so cold out, I decided corduroy would be a better choice. It wound up kind of monotone though.

Helmet: Charles Owen AYR8
Favorite! Also, I don't recall having a dimple?

Vest: Avalon Femme
I don't even know where this came from? It was in my closet though, so I'm assuming I bought it at some point.

Shirt: Ariat
Sorry this is kind of an awkward photo of my boobs... But it shows the cute hunt print really well! I think I'm turning into that weird elementary school teacher that wears silly printed shirts all the time (minus the school teacher part). I'm loving this one though!

Belt: Mane Jane
I probably don't need to gush over Mane Jane again do I? You should go get one. Mane Jane is having a black Friday sale: 20% off your order use code Black Friday, plus free shipping over $100.

Breeches: Horsewares
I have these in tan too. If you live anywhere that gets cold, get yourself a pair of these! They're in the clearance section on pretty much any site that carries Horsewares.

Boots: Horka
I really need to wear these more. They're almost as comfy as my Regals now.

Spurs: Centaur
Straps: Ovation
My favorite spurs! And I thought these fun straps were perfect with the distressed boots.

That's it for riding clothes, let's see what I wore to Thanksgiving!

Except you can barely see it because this photo is so dark... Sorry about that. I was told to be at my brother's at 2:30 for our feast. His house is 8 minutes from mine, so I knew I could cut it pretty close. Problem was at 1:45 I got a text that I should be there earlier. At 1:45 I was still in the barn and not yet showered. Thus, I was in a HUGE rush to get ready and had very little time absolutely no time for photos. Nor accessories, so no arm party today either. Booo.

Sweater: Cynthia Rowley
I was able to accessorize with some dog hair though... This sweater is the coziest thing ever. It's actually short sleeves, the sort of bat wing type and it has a hood. I layered a thermal tee underneath to cover my arms. It was cute, but not as cute as I thought it would be. (First time wearing it.)

Belt: Brooks Belts
I think every amateur equestrian is out to brand themselves these days, and at least five of them are making belts. Brooks Belts is, I guess, one of many, but the belts are cute and well made. There are options for buckles which is fun too. It's nice to support small businesses and fellow amateurs.

Jeans: Hudson
I really love Hudson jeans. They do a lot of fun prints and things. They're stupid expensive though. I only get them when I discover them on clearance at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. These however, came from Zulily but that's pretty much the same difference. I love this teal color, and the sort of houndstooth plaid print is really fun.

Boots: Lucky Brand
I got these boots I think two winters ago, and then at one point forgot I owned them. They're fantastic boots. Super soft and comfy. You'll see them frequently this season I think!

And that's it for today! Any favorites from today's outfits? How was your Thanksgiving? Have you taken advantage of any sales yet? I'm about to head over to The 900 Facebook Pony's famous black Friday list, so I can pretty much kiss my bank account goodbye right now...

Thursday's Threads

Happy Fake Friday! Well... for those of us with 9-5, M-F sort of jobs anyway. I'm excited for the long weekend!
I have two outfits to share today. No running outfit though. Not that I didn't run, I DID! But I wore the same thing as last week, so no need to share.
Let's start with today's work outfit:
I went a little crazy with these pants... They're ridiculous but I love them! Note both short kids casually photo bombing in the background.

Top: Andrea Jovine
I'm having an impossible time getting the color of this top to photograph with my phone... You'll have to trust me that it's a dusty pink color. I love the beading along the hems, giving it that girly-but-edgy feel.
Pants: Hudson
Obviously these are a throwback to the fabulous 80's! I love everything about these pants... the PINK acid wash, the skinny legs, the ZIPPERS! I hadn't worn them yet this year because I was a little... well. Larger than they were. But having spent those couple of weekends at the horse show, I'm fitting back into them. Phew!
Shoes: Wanted
These were on the blog a few times last summer I think. They too are a dusty pink color, and I love the spikes on them. Although, they are shockingly sharp, must pay attention while wearing them!

My eye is still super swollen from the bee sting on Tuesday, so I'm sporting an added accessory today:
Good side
Puffy side
My Kate Spade glasses! Do I look extra smart today?

Arm party:
Left:
Lefty is super fun today. First is a light pink and copper Nakamol that I had gotten from Little Black Bag back in the day. Next is my trusty watch. That adorable pink bracelet with the turtle bead is one of my own creations, and last is a ribbon bracelet from Ettika.

Right:
I think this bracelet is SO FUN! I can't remember the brand, but it came from Little Black Bag's big going out of business sale. It is a faux leather with a metal top piece. The "leather" which is tough to see is pink with a gold overtone to it. Really pretty. I think the color makes this oversize piece a bit more delicate.

Now for a riding outfit! Here's what I rode in last night:

Top: Vineyard Vines for Skidmore College Saratoga Horse Show
I don't usually buy horse show apparel, but I love Vineyard Vines and I love my alma mater, so I had to! Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund, so it's a win-win all around. Besides, it's mint green! How could I NOT buy it?

Breeches: Ovation
I've shown these to you all before. They are the older style so I couldn't show in them. Well I could, but all the cool kids would make fun of me. They are perfect for schooling though. SO COMFORTABLE! Also seen there is a leather belt from Ebay. It's Louis Vuitton inspired. I can't believe I forgot to take a photo of the buckle. Sorry about that.

Boots: Parlanti
Jampy and I have a show tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure these hadn't shrunk up on me from lack of use. They haven't! Yay!

That's what I'm wearing this Thursday! What do you have on?
