Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! We're returning to our regularly scheduled barn colors this week, but don't worry, there's something fun at the end so it's not completely boring. It's Shiny's turn to model, but I failed at getting a full pony photo today. Sorry about that... Anyway, here's what she had on today:

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow band: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

Guys. Her ear hair is getting out of control. We are definitely overdue for a spa day. Fuzzy ears aside, I love how this bridle looks on her.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Mattes
This is the green version of the saddle pad Al was wearing last week. (He had the blue one.) I love these pads. 10/10. Highly recommend.

Boots: Eskadron
I say this every time I use these boots, but I really like them. I wish Eskadron would stick with a boot style and just change the colors each season. I'd love to have a shed full of these in different colors.

That's what Shiny was wearing today and here's what I had on:
It's wonderful to have these beautiful sunny days, but it's terrible for mirror photos in my room.

Helmet: One K Avance CCS Mips
I forgot a fresh photo of the helmet, but it was this one.

Sweater: Old Navy

You guys have seen this sweater a lot. It's been one of my favorites the last two years. Starting to show the wear and is getting a bit pilly, but I don't mind that for a barn sweater.

Belt: Rebecca Ray
I love my fluffy cow print belt. It was an exciting day when it appeared under the clearance tab!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
These aren't new, I got them sometime last year. But I forget if I told you their story. I was mildly obsessed with finding these breeches either used or on closeout. It was seeming to be a fruitless search for the longest time. I regularly checked the used TS Facebook page. I hunted Instagram and Poshmark. Nothing. And then one day they appeared! On Facebook. For $85 and barely ever worn. Totally worth the wait! And even better, they're side zip which is my preferred zip. They're also mid rise, which is my preferred rise too. What a find!

Boots: Celeris UK
Here's the fun part! I've often said I can't decide which boots are my favorite. But that's a lie. These are my favorites. Hands down. I especially enjoy being at a barn where I can wear them without being told I'm going to negatively influence the children... Ha! When I had these made, I had to sign a waiver that I understood this hide might not wear well as a full boot. And there's a few places that they're rubbed a bit, like where the stirrup leather runs across the front and near the spurs. But honestly, they're holding up really well. I will absolutely get them again if/when they do wear out.

That's it for today! I think the cow boots are less crazy when I don't go full cow outfit. But like, I do enjoy a good crazy full cow outfit, so fear not, that will happen again one of these days.

Thursday's Threads: Moooo edition

Outfit Day!!! By the title I imagine you can guess what we wore today... Al is our model because he's the only one with the complete outfit. Also, my drink ware for the day matched our outfit. I know. I'm super weird. I love being in my forties because I'm comfortable being a total weirdo.

Anyway, here's what Al had on today:

Note the lack of draw reins. We're weaning off of them. But still using a loose martingale just in case.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow Band: Homemade
Not the best angle to showcase our cow print brow band. but look at his cute face! How could I NOT use this photo??

Boots: Celeris UK
Al and I have matching boots. And they're both amazing!

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Hopeful Equestrian
Half Pad: Mattes
I like these baby pads a lot. They're shaped well so they stay put, which is always an area of concern with baby pads. Not as much on Al who doesn't use himself that well, but on Eros, many pads bunch up. These do not. Unfortunately, Hopeful Equestrian has closed up shop so I can't get more.

That's what Al wore this week, and here's what I had on:

All the cow print! ALL OF IT! I really can't explain it, but I've always loved cow print. I had some cow print things in college that I gave away later in my twenties thinking I'd never wear them again. And I miss them. Embrace what you love my friends, and hang on to it! Otherwise you'll end up rebuying it later.

Helmet: One K MIPS
I covered the plain black pieces this helmet came with using some vinyl. I didn't do a very good job... It's pretty wrinkly. But it serves the purpose. I paired those pieces with the hunter green rails to match my boots.

Shirt: No brand
I stumbled upon this top on Amazon, and it just said generic, no brand. So I assume it was made in China. But I couldn't find anything similar here in the good old USA so I got this one. It's actually a lovely shirt for summer. Very light weight, nice and stretchy. Big fan!

Belt: Rebecca Ray
I snagged this guy on sale quite a few years ago. And quite a few pounds ago. Add to that, the rise on our pants was lower back then too and I had to punch holes in it to wear today. Al thought it smelled weird. He's probably not wrong. I didn't sniff it to see. Regardless, it's a really nice belt. Rebecca Ray makes the nicest things.

Breeches: RJ Classics Harper
The Harper's are my favorite of the RJ pants, and you've all seen these a million times. Clearly a fan of these! Plus the shade of green is fab.

Boots: Celeris UK
Sometimes I feel a little sad that these are a little big for me these days, but honestly, what difference does it make? They don't rub or anything, and they still look amazing. I think these are my favorite boots. They're SO SOFT and ridiculously fun.

That's it for today! Any favorites? Are you waiting to see a particular theme for Thursday's Threads? Let me know in the comments!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! Um... I forgot horse photos today. I'm seriously the worst blogger sometimes. BUT, fear not, because Shiny's exact outfit that I would have shared today has been captured before separately. So I do have photos and can share her outfit. They're just not photos from today. But close enough. So we'll start with her.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Brow Band: Dark Jewel Designs

This photo makes me very nostalgic for summer and weather that's warmer than 35 degrees. (I was very cold today.)

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Mattes
Since getting clipped, Shiny's coat has been getting ruffled at the front of the saddle pad, so I switched her over to these fluffy edged pads for winter. I'm so glad I got them when I did, they're so great for winter coat issues. In other news, while I was away, Shiny regrew her entire wooly coat, and you'd never she was ever clipped. Ponies.

Boots: Eskadron
We've had these for several years now and they've held up great. Shiny's legs can be tough to fit, but Eskadron always seems to work for her.

That's what Shiny was wearing today, and here's what I had on:

Yep. Back to navy, but you had to guess that based on Shiny's outfit. Also, still wearing the DeNiro's and the same ol' Samshield. So we're skipping them again. I may mix it up next week. I have some warm fuzzy foot apparel that you haven't seen yet and I need to get to breaking them in because it's ridiculously cold here now.

Sweater: Lanpuluy
Wool under shirt: MeriWool
I know you can't see the other shirt, but I included it in the header because wool layers are the best things ever, and you might want to know about an affordable brand. And yes, I have two wool layers on. Tis the season!

Belt: Rebecca Ray
Rebecca Ray doesn't sell these anymore and that's very sad. But Remarkable Leather goods makes one that's very similar. So silver lining!

Breeches: Horse Pilot
The Tack Hack is a frequent source of poor choices for me... And their black Friday sale was a real issue for my credit card balance... I told you all about the jacket I bought a few weeks ago (it came and fits perfectly, so #noregrets) but I'm not sure I admitted that I also snagged this pair of breeches. They were a ridiculously good deal (like under $100 good deal) and I've wanted to try this brand for awhile, but not at the normal price point. (Because I'm cheap.) Sadly, I love them. They fit so much better than Equiline's. And the fabric is lovely. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. Sorry about your wallets.

That's it for this week! Kind of a boring one, but they can't all be crazy all of the time. I mean they could... But sometimes I'm boring. At least the breeches were something new to see!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! My brown Mt Horse boots were very unkind to my heels yesterday. So we're in a fight. But that means I picked one of my fun boots to make this outfit around. So yay? I had planned for Shiny to model today, but I rode Al first and he looked fab so we went with him instead. Here's what he had on today:

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs

I know, you've all seen this one a lot this year. We use it the most, and it's the easiest to swap browbands with. We haven't used the glitter bridles this year I don't think, so maybe we'll bust those out one of these days.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Ippico
Saddle Pad: Etsy maker who is out of business

I've forgotten the name of the shop that made this pad for me. She made quite a few things for me, but is no longer in business, unfortunately.

Boots: Premier Equine
Premier Equine did a redesign of their boots, and now they all have red accents which is zero percent my jam. So I'm glad I bought these before the change. Premier Equine makes some really nice stuff, but I kind of miss when they used fun colors. Everything now is pretty much just black, white, navy, and sometimes brown. Kinda boring.

That's what Al wore today, and here's what I had on:

Heh, my hat was so crooked here. Oops.

Helmet: Samshield
I can't believe how much this helmet has faded this summer! It's kind of purple now. I think I like it though. Good thing, since it wasn't cheap. Funny how the band just above the brim didn't fade.

Top: Mathcat
This lovely teal shirt was listed as dark green on the product page... I was bummed it wasn't actually, but it IS a nice shade of teal. So I still like it.

Belt: Rebecca Ray
I love these Rebecca Ray belts. I'm still sad I missed out on the gold one. It was a limited edition color. Maybe it will come back someday!

Breeches: Le Fash
I keep almost putting these breeches in the sale pile, but then I wear them and change my mind. They're really comfortable pants. Not only that, they stay put. I don't have to pull them up all day long, they just stay where you want them. Nice feature in breeches!

Boots: Celeris UK
Gray and teal! I love that the teal leather is a pretty perfect match to my belt. What are the odds?! I haven't worn these boots a ton this summer, but I'm not sure why. They're perfectly broken in and super comfy. They are my old measurements so are a little bit too big in the calf, but not terrible. It's not noticeable when I'm riding at all. So anyway... I'll probably be wearing them more until I get some of my broken boots fixed.

And that's it for today! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! And while we were boring today, we went with blues this week instead of green. Because it was time to mix it up a little. Shiny will be our model today, and here's what we had on:

We even matched the jump!

Here's what Shiny had on up closer:

I love her in pastels. But she really looks great in most colors.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
I should have grabbed her other bridle from the shed, but it was hot out, and I didn't feel like it. So we went this old standby. Never a bad choice!

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Smartpak
Heh... I didn't realize my crop was throwing a shadow on the pad until after I had untacked. My bad. Anyway, this pad from Smartpak is pretty nice. It has memory foam panels built into it so no need for an additional half pad. I'm not generally a big memory foam fan, but Shiny seems to like this set up.

Boots: Horze
These boots fit her well for the most part, but for some reason, the top strap is ridiculously long. They do the job though!

That's what Shiny had on, and here's what I wore today:

All the blues. All of them.

Helmet: One K CCS Mips
I had switched out the lighter blue inserts I had on this helmet for the gold ones to match my yellow outfit for spirit week. And I forgot to switch them back. But the gold looks nice on here anyway.

Shirt: Luyaa
I know. I basically just wear the exact same outfit all the time in different colors. But I really like these shirts!

Belt: Rebecca Ray
I've had this belt forever, but I still love it and wear it all the time.

Breeches: Equiline Boston
These are the breeches that I think are mis-sized. They are like two sizes bigger than I normally wear, but fit great. My other Equiline pants all have silicone patches, but this pair has fabric ones. I like them. Snagged them REALLY cheap from Redpost Equestrian awhile ago.

Boots: Celeris
I've shared these a few times at this point, but I'm starting to really like them now that they're broken in. These are actual dressage boots with stiff outter panels, which is not at all my jam generally. But I snagged these for just over $100 from a sale at Reiten Leder. They were demos that no one else wanted. Probably for two reasons: 1.tiny feet with real woman calves and 2. they don't have a zipper. So yes, I have to lace them all the way each time I wear them. But once you get the hang of it, it's easy and quick enough. I still would never order a pair of stiff boots on purpose, but these have broken in nicely and are pretty comfortable.

That's it for today! Any favorites? Happy to see a non green boring outfit?
