Truthful Tuesday

Well... it's here. The miserable cold. I know it's not really a confession that I hate the cold since I kvetch about that constantly here on the blog. But on the first miserably cold morning of the year, I feel it's my duty to whine about it. One of the most annoying things about the first cold morning is this:
My car always thinks I have four flat tires. Lies. It yells warnings at you until you put air in them too. Pretty annoying. Stupid cold.
The next annoying thing is that my office was 61 degrees when I came in this morning. 61 is a lovely temperature if you're outside at night in October. It is not a lovely temperature to sit in at work. It's climbed to about 65 so far. My hands are frozen and I'm still wearing my jacket. I also added a blanket. Gloves are next.
Speaking of cold, do you know what brings the cold weather in? Wind. Which leads to today's actual confession. I really hate wind chimes. I thought wind chimes were supposed to be soothing? I find them to be quite the opposite. I never really noticed my distaste for them until Sunday when I heard the tinkling along in the background and consciously though, "Ugh, I hate those things."
It's funny the things you learn about yourself isn't it? Do you have any weird things that drive you bananas? Thoughts on wind chimes?

  1. I used to hate wind chimes until some coworkers gave my some after my grandma died (and then my uncle gave me more for my birthday this year). Now I rarely even notice their background noise, but when I do, I think about my family. But I probably still hate other people's wind chimes, because I'm weird like that.

But I am 100% with you on the cold thing, brrr. Hate cold weather. But at least now I have an excuse to start riding in vests, which help disguise my "fluff" 😂

    1. I think I would probably not hate meaningful wind chimes either. Just the random ones at my neighbor's house!
That is the one bonus to all the layers! Hides the fluff!

  2. Ugh yeah my office used to be freezing. Yet no one would call the building manager. You know its bad when people are wearing full on snow jackets sitting at their desks

    1. Right?! It's the worst. Our guy in charge of such things retired, so I'm not even completely sure who to nag about it.

  3. At the hospital I worked at, I was in the 1921 building (..yeah, as in 'built in') and I used to crank my heater and wear 324 layers.
My house was down to 66 this morning when I woke up which isn't bad, but was a little bit of a shock!

    1. 66 is bad! I keep mine at 68 in the winter because you know, $$$$, but I think it's miserable and I'm constantly wearing at least one blanket.
