This past week/weekend was full of all sorts of fun things. Nothing particularly crazy on the equine front, but the ponies and I had some fun too.
Saturday I got up early to drop some things off with trainer. She and Badger headed to down to Florida this past weekend. I'm not panicking... You're panicking! Ugh. As of now they aren't evacuating. Wellington is somewhat inland, so hopefully they'll be safe. Or leave tomorrow... Or something. I'm trying not to freak out...
Anyway, after running some errands I had a really fun jump school with Jampy. I made him jump a little bigger (we won't do that a lot, just in case...) and he was fantastic. I had to get a little creative with my jumps though, I've run low on standards.
There are a couple video clips on my Instagram, but here are some stills. He's really jumping pretty well!
Grumpy face, but the hind end though! |
Yep, that's a very large flock of wild turkeys. Thankfully Rio didn't mind them at all so we had a nice ride and then we spent the rest of our time snacking in the yard:
And then you guys, I had the BEST NIGHT EVER! Someone I know had a couple of free tickets to the I Love the 90's concert at the casino.
My best friend and I had a BLAST! We saw C&C Music Factory, Color Me Badd
Biz Markie
Montel Jordan
COOLIO!
And the headliners were TLC
It was so much fun. Totally relived my youth. Probably most of you have never heard of any of these bands though... Ha!
Sunday morning arrived way too early. And it was raining. ALL. DAY. So I was responsible and managed to accomplish some organizing in my house. It finally stopped raining around evening time which was nice. A friend hosted a dinner party and we were able to enjoy our cocktails outside.
Sunday was actually a gorgeous day. I spent the morning doing the barn chores and riding the boys. My weekend was topped off with a fun surprise at my dad's house. He and my step mom had spent the weekend in New York, and they brought back a feast of all my favorite Jewish delicacies. So basically, I spent the weekend eating, riding ponies, and listening to music. Total win!
Did you enjoy the holiday weekend? Do anything fun? Horse show maybe? Tell me about your holiday in the comments!
Jampy looks good over the jumps. That Florida thing is scary though. Fingers crossed for Badger.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think he's back to his old self!
DeleteIt really is. Trainer says they're very prepared, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see and keep all the fingers crossed.
That sounds like a pretty perfect holiday weekend! I went boating with friends, squeezed in a trail ride, then had a pony spa day/tack cleaning extravaganza on Monday haha. So glamorous.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty great too! I really need to spend a day with the tack.
DeleteWhat a fantastic weekend!
