But that's not what this post is supposed to be about! I flew back home last Thursday and had lots to do to prepare for the impending snowstorm. Normally I don't worry too much since the truck I haul my trailer with is excellent in the snow. Unfortunately, Bruce (that's my truck) has decided he doesn't want to start, so I needed to prepare to be snowed in for the weekend. My plane landed around four and I drove straight home to feed the horses and unload the car. Once they were tended to and the car was empty, I set out to run a few errands and then pick up the short kids from Grandma's house. I was pretty excited when she had dinner for me! Aren't moms the best?! Thankfully I was so productive, we were all home by 9:30 and enjoyed some cuddle time.
Friday was a full day at work, and then home to groom the tall kids. I missed them so much while I was away!
They're all in shedding mode:
I woke up Saturday and the snow hadn't started yet. Yay! But by 8 am it was coming down pretty heavily. I spent the day playing with ponies and hanging with the pugs. And shoveling snow. It was actually a pretty nice snow day! Especially hanging with these two:
Sunday was full of snow cleanup and lots of adorable pictures of the boys in the snow that I can't show you! Grrrr. (Yes, I'm whining.) I did snap a few with the phone though, so here's some snow for you!
I don't think Romey has spent much time out in the snow before. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but by the end of his turnout he had meandered around the whole arena. He's adorable!
Sunday afternoon I finally cleaned out the shoe/purse room. (Yes my accessories have their own room... try not to judge.) It's not done yet, because despite my weeding things out, it's still a mess. But this is where I got to.
Monday, Jamp lost a shoe, and managed to move one of the others, but my farrier was able to come out Tuesday and fix him up. Important to note, it's nearly impossible to find a shoe in the snow.
And now... the most exciting thing that happened this week? I bought Gran Turismo, aka GTO!
I also realized he kind of looks like my dogs:
It's actually been semi-warm here this week, so I'm hoping for enough melting to ride this weekend. We shall see what happens!
What's up with you this Wednesday? Any snow where you are?
so exciting (and buckskin!!)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've never had a yellow horse, but I've always wanted one! Can't believe I found him :)
DeleteCongrats!! GTO is very cute. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so in love with him. But I miss him terribly. Is it wrong I'm jealous that he gets to spend his winter in FL?
