Truthful Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have a pretty funny confession today... Ok, maybe it's just a super lazy one. Either way, you should find it entertaining.
My wheelbarrow in the barn has only one job: to wheel the hay to each stall at feeding time. It's not a strenuous job for the wheelbarrow, as only one bale is ever in there at a time. And my barn is not that long so it doesn't travel very far. As a result of all this, I did nothing when the tires looked low on air. I still did nothing as they were very clearly, completely flat. Then they started to just fall apart. Eventually they looked like this:

I know. Pretty bad... especially that one on the right. But since my floor is rubber, it still wheeled pretty easily. But finally last weekend, I headed over to Tractor Supply and got myself some new tires for the wheelbarrow. I snapped a pic of the tire size before leaving, so I was certain I knew what I needed.
I could only find one tire that matched the size I was looking for, so that was great. No decisions to make! But let's take a look at something on the old ones, shall we?

See how that rim has the sort of extension on it? The metal tube-like feature where the tire is held on? Yeah I didn't take note of it either... The new tires which came mounted on their own rims, didn't have that. I didn't notice until I put them on. So what's a girl to do? Duct tape. DUH!

Crisis averted. For now at least. I'm loving my new wheelbarrow tires! It's so easy to push now, I occasionally lose control of it. It's the little things in life...

Anything you need to get off your chest today? Have you procrastinated on doing anything lately?

  1. Awesome fix! At the barn I worked at they eventually gave up and got solid rubber tires (no air in the middle)...I never heard of that before but they worked awesome.

My confession is.... I haven't done very mainly of my monthly goals for myself, although I am making great progress on one or two. Time to get my butt in gear and finish the rest of the month strong!

    1. Solid tires! That's smart! Why don't they just come with those in the first place?!
At least you made goals! I'm floundering along currently. I feel like with winter approaching... eh.
