Thursday's Threads

Outfit day!!! And it's a good thing I planned ahead and wore today's outfit earlier in the week because it was COLD today! Al is our model this week, and here's what he wore:

I know what you're thinking. Green AGAIN. But this isn't just green. It's green GLITTER! Way better.

Bridle: Ponyo
I love me a bridle that is just completely glitter. They're on sale for $25 if you also need a glitter bridle. But I have no idea what import costs will be now. No idea whatsoever. I think we've already covered how I lack an understanding there. Thankfully, I got these a few years ago, before all the import nonsense.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: Eskadron
My camera flat out refused to pick up the glitteriness in this pad. I tried video, I tried different angles, I tried videoing at different angles. NOTHING! So you'll just have to trust me that there is plenty of sparkle happening here.

Boots: Eskadron
So then I thought, maybe I'll take the boot photo inside and maybe that will show the sparkle. But alas. You can barely even tell they're green, let along glittery. But they are indeed both of those things.

That's what Al had on, and here what I was wearing for glitter day:
I did not realize how unflattering this top is on it's own. I first took a photo head on, but you could legit see my belly button. Not attractive. Next time I'll wear a cami under here.

Helmet: Equinavia
I don't wear this helmet much because it's a hair tight. I can ride one horse in it, but it starts to give me a headache after that. But I can't bring myself to get rid of it because it's GREEN and it has GLITTER. Two of my favorite things. And it's not expired yet!

Shirt: Nine West
This tee shirt is also glittery throughout and is also poorly represented in this photo. But you can kinda tell if you look closely.

Belt: No brand
I got this glittery belt strap awhile back from Amazon, and the buckle I attempted to spray paint with green glitter. But I did too many coats and it mostly chipped off. So now it's distressed glitter. It's called fashion.

Breeches: RJ Classics Harper
These are the pants with the unstitched pockets I was telling you guys about last week! They're so silly. I wore them to run an errand earlier that morning, and my car key wound up like mid thigh. Awkward!

Boots: TuffRider Regal, embellished by me
I always forget how comfortable the Regal boots are. I try not to wear these too much because I don't have that much faith in the glitter holding up. But so far it really is doing well! I love how these came out.

That's it for today! Thoughts on the glitter?

Thursday's Threads: The one with my favorite color

Glitter. That's my favorite color. And today, we wore glitter. Okay, actually I took outfit photos yesterday because I knew today would be winter. And it was. There were many layers today. But yesterday there were fewer, so we'll use that outfit. Eros modeled today and he looked fabulous. FABULOUS! But he was upstaged tonight by the northern lights. So I interrupt this outfit day with some photos of the magical sky:

This looks like a heart to me

I've never seen anything like it. The Iphone photos are a little more impressive than what we could see with human eyes, but even what we could see was incredible. What a year for cool stuff in the sky!

Okay, back to our regular programming. Here's what Eros wore this week:

I know. You don't see the glitter yet. Be patient. You will.

Bridle: Ponyo
There it is! There's the glitter! ALL over the bridle. This thing is so ridiculous, and I love it so much. The reins also have glitter. Even on the hand stops!

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: Eskadron
Okay, well you can't really see the glitter in this photo. But the pad has a glitter layer underneath the mesh outer layer. It doesn't photograph well, but it does glisten in the sun. I kind of like that's is semi subtle ridiculousness.

Wraps: Ponyo
I had forgotten I'd gotten the polos when I bought the bridles and boots, and I was so happy with past me when I found them this week! I prefer Eros wear wraps versus boots these days.

That's what E had on, and here's my outfit:

Oh fear not. There's more glitter. You'll see.

Helmet: Horze
There's some! Up there on the helmet! I love the color of the helmet, and especially the glitter part. But I don't wear it that much because it's a bit rounder than my head. But as long as I leave my hair down it's not too bad.

Shirt: FitEq
I like these FitEq tops. I'm disappointed they've gone out of business, was hoping they'd do new colors this year.

Belt: Tory Burch
I don't have a green glitter belt. I did spray paint a buckle but it hasn't held up well. So I decided to match the piping on the saddle pad to my belt today. Metallic gold is always a strong second choice to glitter.

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
I rarely reach for these breeches because they're a size smaller than my usual size and I always thing they'll be too tight. But now that I ride three horses a day instead of four or five (and sometimes just two when Shiny's kid comes!) I think I've lost some muscle mass as these are fitting quite well suddenly. I certainly haven't lost any weight. But it's nice to know I can reach for these more often anyway!

Boots: Tuffrider embellished by me
You guys remember when life got real weird there for awhile and the whole world shutdown, and I started painting boots? These were one of those pairs! They're still going pretty strong. Some of the paint has worn off on the part by the zipper up the back. But otherwise it still looks pretty great!

And that's it for today! What do you think about the glitter? Too much, or just enough?

Thursday's Threads: Glitter and Glamour edition

Got some new stuff to share today... And by new, I mean I bought it all many months ago, but have been waiting to get home to use it all! I'm still sticking with a green theme this week, but there's plenty of glitz and glamour too. Eros is our model this week, and here's what he wore:

Um... also, we have to do a little work on that dad bod... I swear, this horse gains weight just thinking about food. (I can relate.)

Bridle: Ponyo
The glitter bridles aren't new, you all saw them last summer too. But they were the perfect choice with the rest of this outfit! If anyone is curious, these bridles are synthetic, not leather, and are definitely not as lovely as a high end leather bridle. But they are still super fun and the horses don't seem to find them uncomfortable.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: CanTack
Half Pad: Mattes
I saw this set on the Instagram, and initially it was shown along with some LV pads that I almost bought instead. But this one with the G's was more inline with my usual color scheme, so I got them instead. And I'm glad I did! The pads are very nice and fit my saddles well.

Boots: CanTack
The boots are super cute too.

That's what Eros had on, and here's what I wore:
This olive outfit matched the trim on the pad pretty nicely.

Helmet: Horze
This helmet isn't all that comfortable for me. It's not exactly too small... but it kind of is? I think the problem is that it's pretty round and my head is more oval. But if I keep my hair down, it gets the job done well enough. Plus it's GREEN and has GLITTER on it, which is not easy to find. So I'm hanging on to it.

Shirt: Luyaa
This is one of those Amazon shirts that is a knock of the Lululemon tops. I also fully believe they must be made in the same factory as the TKEQ ones. They are identical. But these are $23.

Belt: Mane Jane

I went with the olive Mane Jane strap, but in retrospect, I should have worn a Gucci belt to match the pad. That just means I'll have to do another outfit with this pad set in the future!

Breeches: Ariat
These breeches are insanely old. Like easily could be close to ten years old I think. Nothing special about them, but they are comfortable and seem to be holding up quite well.

Boots: Cavallo
New custom boots are no longer really in my budget these days. But these aren't customs, so I found a way to get them... Cavallo introduced this "Nature" line of boots this past winter. They are water resistant leather and came in this dark olive color, so I REALLY was interested in then. Hufglocken was carrying them with an introductory price that was tempting, but still higher than I really should be spending. (I think around $400.) But THEN, they had a 30% off code for the entire website, and these boots were included. So I wound up getting them for $290 with free shipping from Australia. Now that I could get behind! And here they are! They have a huge range of sizes, so these fit like a custom boot. I've ridden in then two days now and they are already pretty comfortable. If you're in the market for a bad weather boot, I highly recommend these. They are available in black, navy, and brown as well.

And that's it for today! Any favorites? Impressed with Eros' dad bod? You should be, he's worked hard for that all winter.
