Thursdays Threads

Outfit Day! I decided after my Fourth of July outfit I needed to class things up a little today. But just a little cause I'm still me. So here's what I wore to work:

And a little Pia photo bomb
Summery and fun but still semi classy right? Well you're mostly right. I am carrying this as my purse
today:
so that's about where the class ends. But how great is my triceratops bag?! Yeah. I thought you'd agree.
Anyway, let's look closer at the outfit.

Top: Orange Creek
I really like the gauze-y material on this top. I hope it survives without too many snags, but it seems fairly sturdy.

Pants: Rue 21
I had trouble capturing the color on these, but it's pretty close to the stripe on the shirt. Rue 21 pants are super cheap, but I find them really comfortable.

Shoes: Redhawk
When I was a wee pre teen long ago, hurachi shoes were what every one was wearing. I had a white pair that I destroyed from wearing so often. When these woven shoes came back into style, I was kind of excited to get a pair. And even more excited when I found them in this color!

Arm Party:
Lefty:
Lefty is decked out in some Ettika. First up is a braided friendship bracelet with gold nuggets in it, and the other is a stretchy bracelet made from turquoise beads.

Righty:
Righty is donning some wood and stone beaded bracelets that I made. I was inspired by some similar bracelets from Golden Tote, but couldn't fathom the price tag. Instead I made my own, and loved them even more. The last is a turquoise and metal bracelet from Jessica Simpson.

That's what I wore to work today, but I also have a semi classy riding outfit from last night to share:

Other than a green helmet and boots, it's straight up class!

Helmet: Charles Owen AYR8
Still my favorite.

Top: Burberry
I know what you're thinking. Who actually wears a Burberry polo shirt, especially to the barn! But Burberry has an outlet in Florida, so this polo was no more expensive than any of my other polo shirts. Thus fair game for destroying at the barn. Plus it's adorable with the Burberry plaid on the sleeves. Also, though it would not photograph no matter where I stood, it is actually an olive green and not the brown color it looks in all of these pictures.

Belt: Sandy Duftler
Sandy Duftler makes all those fancy-schmancy expensive spur belts you see floating around social media. I found this stirrup belt (which looks JUST like the $800 Ralph Lauren version) on ebay. I was the only bidder and got it SUPER cheap! Woohoo!

Breeches: CM Hadfields
These are practically vintage. They're stretchy, cotton, side zip, and have NO euro seat. How old school is that? I'm glad I dug them out.

Boots: La Mundial
This is what they look when I snap them. As long as I don't move, they look like that! So pretty. Breaking in new boots is the WORST! But these are breaking in pretty quickly, so I can't complain too much. They really are beautiful even if mildly defective.

Spurs: Centaur and Color Tack
Straps: Mane Jane
I like the Color Tack branded spurs, but I really LOVE these ones from Centaur that Color Tack coated for me. They go perfectly with the trim on my boots. And I still can't get over how well the Mane Jane spur straps match my boots. So perfect!
That's it for today! What are you wearing? Get any new horsey apparel you're really excited about?
