What's Up Wednesday

Another week! Things in my state are teetering on being able to move to phase 2, but yesterday our hospitalizations spiked again, so we have to see how that goes. My dad and stepmom (And Fefe!) will be heading home at the end of the month, so I think I'm going to aim for that as my return to the barn time. We'll just have to see how things are going! I really want to start riding again. Pammon is on full training board right now, so may wait on him until June. He's pretty hot and needs a lot of sedation for his walks. So probably best I don't get on him after not riding for two months. I'm hoping to have the ring work done by June ish, so maybe I can bring some horses home then. I'm thinking about asking the fam how they would feel about letting Eros come home for his rehab (with Shiny of course!) and keeping Fefe and Pammon at the boarding barn for the summer. Eros is an easy going guy, and I feel much more comfortable managing his rehab on my own. Hopefully they'll be on board! But we'll see where things are with the ring too.
I did get to see the horses again this weekend as I had to drop off some supplements. Which I get to do again this weekend too! Shiny's and Pammon's come together, but on a different schedule from Eros. Kinda nice since it means I have more excuses to visit my ponies.

We had a glorious weekend here. It was actually warm out! And we saw the sun! So I did just a few small things in the house because I really want to get it all finished before I jump back into the full swing of horsing. Namely, I moved my shoe chairs from my shoe closet to the craft room, and put together the book shelves that had arrived.

So this room is close to being done. I just have to organize all my crap and put it away. I'm planning to actually put books on those book shelves too, which are mostly down stairs. So that will be good exercise one of these days... This leaves some cleaning up in the office/spare bedroom, fixing the mess I created in the shoe closet, and the same in the downstairs spare bedroom, and finally the switching over to spring/summer clothes. Phew. Sounds like a lot left. Ugh.
Anyway, the puggers and I had lots of fun outside this weekend.

I also did some work out in the barn and the shed organizing all the saddle pads and horse boots. Over the winter, my helper did a deep clean of the barn, but he moved everything around to get that done. So I started putting things back where they belong and getting things organized in there. Definitely a few more days of work to do in there still. But it's a start! I also want to get all the show stuff sorted out and moved back into the trailer. It's only been two years that it's been sitting in an extra stall... No rush still obviously, but I feel like this is the best time to do it.
In other news, my 40th birthday turned out pretty decent! I had a social distant visit from a friend from work who brought me flowers and a balloon:
Got some lovely cards:
Had a zoom with some of my favorite people, AND got this delicious basket of cookies delivered from my bestie:
And of course I made myself a cake which I enjoyed with a little too much Rose.

This weekend's quarantine craft (maybe not a craft... but whatever) was putting together the Lego version of Central Perk.

So that's it from here. How was your past week? How is "The Situation" where you are?

Thursday's Threads... and stuff

 and stuff...

I guess we'll start with the stuff. With things getting pretty wild here in CT (we are currently the 4th hardest hit state with Covid-19) I made the decision to stop going to the barn. I brought more grain out on Tuesday, and did our normal routine for the last time. It was a really hard decision. I haven't been horseless like this in... well... MANY years. While I would love to have them here with me at home, Pammon is a lot to manage as he has to stay some what sedated while he finishes healing and closely monitored during his turnout time. It would be a lot to juggle with work. More importantly though, I am still awaiting my hay delivery. So until that comes, moving them home isn't an option. I know they'll be in good hands. But I'm still really sad. I miss them terribly. And I JUST got Pammon back, ya know? Hopefully I'll get some photos and videos.
Now it's just me and the puggers here at the homestead. I'm making myself get some exercise after work, and started working on one of those jewel paintings. It's a pug. I'll post a photo when it's finished. Also still working on getting the house cleaned out and organized. Gotta make the best out of all this ya know? And what better way to spend this time at home, than making my home more comfortable and presentable, because some day we'll be able to have friends visit again. This won't last forever.

And that's about it for the stuff. Let's move on to Thursday's Threads and lighten the mood around here.

In my efforts to ration my snacks (grocery delivery isn't until next week...) I've dropped 7 lbs, so that's something good I guess. Maybe by the time shows happen again (and/or I have a sound horse to ride) I'll fit back into my show clothes!

Sweatshirt: Aeropostale
T-shirt: Back on Track
This hoody is fleece, but it's knit fleece. So it's like fancy fleece. And I can't say enough great things about my Back on Track tee shirts. They're comfy, and fit nicely, and they make you feel great. We all need to feel great about now.

Belt: C4
I thought this bubbly belt was super cute, especially with the rose gold buckle. I haven't actually been drinking... but I do have plenty of wine. Just in case.

Jeans: Lucky Brand
I'm trying to not turn into a cave animal, so most days I do get dressed. But I'm sure there will be some quality Thursday's Threads posts in sweatpants at some point... For now, I'm wearing my ripped jeans to work (at home)!

Socks:
They say "Nap All Day, Sleep All Night" up on the leg part, and "Party Never" across the feet. Seems appropriate for these times. I'm not wearing shoes anymore, so expect socks from here until life resumes. Or flip flop season arrives. Which ever comes first.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
I've just been wearing the same stuff on my arms every day for awhile. But I'll switch it up next week. Here we have the Loriece bracelet and my apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is donning the Hermes saddle nail bracelet with the black strap, my full cheek bit bracelet, and my fitbit.

And that's it from here! I hope you're all staying healthy and sane. We're all in this thing together even if we're all apart. For those of you still seeing your horses or living with them, please keep posting! I need my horsey fix any way I can get it.

Truthful Tuesday

So is it weird that I'm totally okay with not leaving my house? I have food (at least for a while) and a normal amount of toilet paper. My pups are here. Just not the ponies. I called for hay, and it's coming, but I'm not yet sure when. So I can't bring the ponies home right now. And truthfully, I'm not sure I could care for them properly right now with their special needs and my job as crazy as it is. So for now, they're staying at the boarding barn. My state is really vague on whether or not we boarders should be going to the barn and the barn owner is allowing us for right now. Boarders only, no lesson kids, no extra family members. I'm thinking about not riding Shiny, and just going out to hand walk the rehabbers and let her have a free lunge if it's possible in the indoor. Most of the other boarders go out early in the day, and I can't until after work so there are usually only 3 people there when I am. I'm not using the cross ties anymore, and bringing my own clorox wipes for door handles and stall latches.
If they decide to close to boarders, I will definitely miss my horses, but I'm honestly okay with that too. I want this thing to pass quickly. As an asthmatic, I'm pretty terrified of catching it.
Where are you guys at with this thing? Are you still seeing your horses? Are you riding?
