Thursday's Threads... Friday edition? I guess?

Heh... well. It happened. I forgot to post yesterday! My evening turned into a bit of a shit show, so I have an excuse. But oops. Anyway, I'm bringing outfit day over to Friday this week, because no one wants to miss an outfit day! Shiny was our model this week, and here's what she wore yesterday:

Her dapple game is strong this time of year. Soon she'll be pink again for the winter.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Home made by me

You may need to enlarge the photo to see it, but the middle beads on this browband are a couple of cute pickup trucks and a leaf that says Happy Fall. I think it's pretty cute! In the silliest way of course.

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Ogilvy, embellished by me
Half Pad: Ippico
How cute is that ribbon trim? The little pumpkin trucks?! So cute.

Boots: Anky
I know I've been raving about these all summer, but I still really like these boots. They fit the horses well, have a nice mesh lining inside (not neoprene), and they wash up really well too. Big fan.

So that's what Shiny was wearing, and here's what I had on:

I might not be the biggest fan of Autumn because it leads to winter, but I am very much here for the color pallet. I'm also enjoying the unseasonably warm temps so I don't need a million layers yet.

Helmet: Samshield

I know. I haven't been very good about swapping out helmets this summer. Sorry. Something for me to work on.

Top: Luyaa
I'm not sure blogger is really picking up this color correctly, it's like a rusty orange color. Perfect for fall!

Belt: The Sugar Lady

This is Rio's tail hair belt, and it's one of my most cherished belongings. I am still so impressed by how this came out. And I'm also impressed with the quality. It's lasting really nicely. Thank goodness. I want to have it forever.

Breeches: RJ Classics
These are the gulf style, and I like them. I like the Harper's a little more, but these are nice also. I find them very comfortable and a little looser fitting than Equiline, which I like.

Boots: DeNiro
So, I've been wanting to get a pair of everyday comfortable boots to keep at the other barn for the winter since all of my plain black boots are waiting to see the boot doctor. But I also don't have a ton of extra boot money laying around right now. This pair has been on sale at Equiport for quite some time. I nearly bought them a few times, but they are taller than the size I normally get from DeNiro. I always complain though, that they end up too short once they fall, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered these along with a pair of heel raisers. I was able to pull the raisers out after the first day, and they are already the perfect height. So I shouldn't have worried. They were 250 euro, so a great price for nice boots and exactly what I needed.

And that's it for this week! Sorry for being a day late. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! I failed at snapping a photo of Shiny in her outfit, but I did take pics of what she wore. So it's only a half miss on that. Instead here's a cute photo of her from the show in which she is not wearing the same outfit as yesterday.

In case you're interested though, at the show she wore her Joseph Sterling bridle and martingale, and I cannot remember the brand on the pad. I wore Parlanti boots, TS breeches, my Rio belt, an Essex shirt, my BEAUTIFUL Winston coat, and the matte black Samshield. (Which costs about the same as a One K if you get it from Equiport.)

Anyway, back to the regular post! Here's what Shiny wore yesterday:

Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pad: Hufglocken

I'm not sure if this Hufglocken pad is actually made by Mattes or another manufacturer, but it's REALLY nice and I got it for a great deal at holiday time in their black Friday sale.

Bridle: Camelot RCS Gold

I switched her to a full cheek a few weeks ago, and it's made a big difference with her steering. Not sure why I didn't do that sooner! It's funny though, when she's standing around she tries to grab the bottom of the cheeks sometimes. She can't reach them... it's pretty hilarious.

Boots: Punk Ponies
Glitter boots! They could use a wash...

And here's what I wore yesterday:
I went with Spring in Nantucket for my theme.

Helmet: One K
Recycled photo... which is unfortunate, I actually had a cute matching mask on yesterday... sorry.

Top: Nantucket Gift Shop
I love this quarter zip! I didn't do a very good job of showing it in this photo (wow I was a bad blogger yesterday...) but the print across and over the shoulders is Nantucket island in a pretty mint green.

Belt: C4
I think these might be Cape Cod lighthouses and not Nantucket lighthouses... but they all look very similar so I thought it worked.

Breeches: ROMFH
I snagged these second hand quite a long time ago, but I wasn't fitting into them. I do now! They aren't as horribly stained in real life as they appear in this photo. But it isn't really the best color for playing with ponies if I'm being honest. But I LOVE the color, so it's quite the conundrum.

Socks: Mare Goods
Never a bad day for some Badass socks.

Boots: Celeris UK
Sorry... I didn't take boot photos either. I wore these again. I really do need to start wearing some others!

And that's it for today! Any favorites? What's your go to show outfit?

Truthful Tuesday

I was going to share a story about what happened with Eros while I was away, but I don't want Truthful Tuesday to turn into a regular whine session about the boarding barn, so I'll save it for tomorrow. Instead, I'll admit that I did it again. Ugh. I don't want to tell you. I'm kind of ashamed....
It all started innocently enough... The other night I went looking for the Samshield clip on sunshield, but for less money. I buy a lot of ridiculous crap, but only for the best deals! Anyway... I found one in the UK (and the winter liner too!) for a reasonable price from Equiport. I've not shopped with them before, but I figured I'd give it a shot. They use paypal, so I have protection if things go awry. Happy to follow up later if anyone wants to shop with them in the future.
Anyway, whenever I find a new to me tack shop online, I generally browse their site to see what they have. Especially if it's European because they get cooler stuff sooner than we do. Know what I discovered? Ridiculously good prices on De Niro boots. Like, those can't be right, good prices. But I didn't act! No I didn't! I did not buy new boots that day. Though I did find a pair to lust after that just happen to match my navy One K snakeskin helmet perfectly...
Pretty right? I know. It's all I've been thinking about since I saw them. I do have navy boots already... But they're patent on the inside calf and kinda  very slippery so I'm not in love. Plus, these match my helmet. I haven't tried De Niro boots yet, but I've heard good things. Normally they're stupid expensive in the states... And did I mention the great price? Because it was really great. Even with shipping added in, they were right around $400 with semi custom sizing. Can't really go wrong there, right?
Alas. I couldn't hold out any longer. I placed the order this morning. In 8-10 weeks hopefully I'll be able to introduce you all to them.
And yes, I still have the Celeris AND the Fama's on the way. Shut up. I have a problem, and there do not seem to be any support groups for boot-a-holics. What's a girl supposed to do?
