Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! Okay, I definitely lied about sharing my winter boots this week. I had very much planned to, but then the weather took a lovely turn for the warmer so my feet would have been much too warm in those. Maybe we'll try again next week! So this week, we'll be skipping helmet and boots since I wore the De Niro's and the Samshield as per the recent norm. I did have a cute-ish outfit on though! So we can look at that.

I'm not sure if you've all noticed but various shades of tan are very much having a fashion moment right now. Which is good because I own many tan items.

Sweater: Old Navy
I somehow found myself on the Old Navy website whilst holiday shopping this year. And well. Let's just say I did not find any gifts for my family, but I found several for myself. Oops. I picked up this sweater in both this camel color and also a nice pine green. Then I discovered that they had a puffy vest and jacket in the same green and maybe I bought those too. Stop judging me. But feel free to bring up these indiscretions when I'm whining about not affording to horse show. That's fair.

Belt: Mane Jane
This is one of my favorite Mane Jane straps, and it's definitely getting more wear this year.

Breeches: Dover Wellesley
My winter go to for pants! They aren't winter lined or anything, but they are heavier than TS, Equiline, and RJ's. I really feel uncomfortable in multiple pants layers, or overly thick pants, so these are a nice alternative. Plus they fit nicely and don't fall down like Pipers.

That's what I had on this week, and for the horse outfit, we're doing something a little different this week. Eros feels very left out because he hasn't been able to model a riding outfit. So this week, he is modeling his walking outfit.

He is sporting his Two Horse Tack halter with the leather crown and a matching lead line. Both are labeled with zipper pull tags (that I use as blanket tags as well) from Thoughtful Colors (on Etsy). His blanket is the Amigo Insulator 350 gram. All the horses wear the same outfit at the boarding barn, so all three kids have this one on right now. I actually really like these blankets, and would consider them for at home too if they came in green. But they don't, and the Kentucky ones are so much nicer, so we will stick with those for now!

I know what you're thinking. You think I forgot to take photos of Al's outfit today and that's really why Eros is modeling his pajamas. Well. You'd be right. But hey, I think it was a pretty good save! Sorry. I've been a bit distracted lately. I will try and do better!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! Another cloudy day so I went with earthy tones to add to the gloom. Ha. Al is our model this week, and he would like to apologize in advance that his mom put the wrong bridle on. She's just the worst. Anyway, here's what we wore today:

Look at that handsome chonk! I think Al's put on a few pounds with these couple of light weeks. Starting to look more like a hunter derby horse than a jumper... He sees doc tomorrow so hopefully we'll be back on track soon.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs

I had planned to use the rose gold clincher bridle, but I forgot and just grabbed our everyday one. My bad.

Saddle: Butet
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Mattes

The lighting was funny in this photo. The pad is a lovely shade of tan, but it looks very yellow here. The trim is chocolate brown.

Boots: Imperial Riding
Okay. So I was very excited to find a lovely shade of tan boots for everyone. Unfortunately, when they arrived, they are SO BIG! I got two pairs of cob for the boys and a pair of pony for Shiny. Well. The pony size fits Eros perfectly. This is the cob on on Al, and while the boot itself isn't horribly big, the velcro is way too long. I'll probably end up selling all of then and finding something else. If anyone has a huge horse and is interested, hit me up!

That's what Al was wearing, and here's what I had on:

I actually thought this shirt was dark green when I put it on this morning. Turns out it's teal, so it really didn't match my saddle pad set up.... But it does look nice with the brown breeches at least.

Helmet: IRH

Okay don't laugh. I have resisted wearing this helmet again because the first time I wore it was when Al spooked me off last fall. I was feeling very superstitious about it! But I finally pulled it out today, and all the horses were wonderful so the helmet is no longer jinxed.

Top: Mathcat

I looked in my purchases to find the brand on this, and even though it's definitely a blue leaning teal... it was labeled as dark green. So my error this morning is warranted!

Belt: Homemade by Me

I made this one I think last year? The year before? Who can remember. The years all blend together at this point. The buckle is Mane Jane.

Breeches: Dover
These haven't aged all that well. Structurally they're fine, but they have some weird fading happening. Still comfy though! And yes, I embellished the belt looks to match the belt. Obviously!

Boots: Dover
These are actually a little too big, but not terrible. They're very comfy. My only complaint about them, is the stretchy panel. That stretchy panel is like a faux stretchy leather rather than elastic. Which looks really nice! Except that it's already peeling. And I can probably count on one hand how many times I've worn them. So that's a little disappointing.

And that's it for today! Anything favorites? Have you tried the Imperial Riding horse boots? Did they fit? I'm wondering if these were an anomaly or if they always run huge.

Thursday's Threads: July 4th Edition

Outfit day! It's a festive one! I realize July 4th was earlier in the week, but I can't let a good theme pass right by. It's just not who I am as a person. Al is our model this week, so we'll start with his outfit.

He really just wore blue because I forgot I have a red saddle pad that I was saving for this week.... And really in retrospect I think the beer pong outfit would have also been fun. But anyway, this is what we had.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs
I really dropped the ball on the bridle. At the very least I should have used the blue ribbon browband. I am taking a pass though, as I whined all about our exhausting week yesterday.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Lettia
Half Pad: Ippico
I think the tye dye has a fireworks feel so that's why I went with this one. Also, I need to oil this saddle...

Boots: Horze
These were a perfect choice for a muddy ride. They don't have fleece for the dirt to stick to, and the mud just wiped right off when we were done.

That's what Al had on, and here's what I chose for the day:

Looking back, it appears this top has been my go to for July 4th for the last like 7 years. Maybe next year I'll get a new top... probably not though. Lol!

Helmet: One K CCS Mips
I love the color of this helmet. It could use a good dusting though!

Tank: TeeSpring
I just think this graphic is adorable. Especially for the 4th of July! I have it in a long sleeve too in case it's ever cool for the holiday. Gotta be prepared.

Belt: Duftler
I still love these spur belts from Sandy Duftler. I'm not sure they are as popular as they used to be, but I think they're really classy looking.

Breeches: Dover
I've been hunting for awhile now for a bright ass pair of red breeches. I'm generally very much not a red person. But twice a year (July 4th and Xmas) I want to wear bright red pants. I've had a few different pairs over the years, but I think I've finally found the keeper pair. They are really comfortable too. Dover does a nice job with breeches.

Boots: Pioneer
If these boots don't look like a firework.... I snagged these second hand off the dressage boot addicts anonymous page on FB. They weren't ever ridden in, but I do think they have some defects. I paid hardly anything for them, so no complaints from me! They're a hair too tall so I have some heel lifts in for now until they drop. The other issue, the snap tab behind the knee is so short, it doesn't snap closed. Like even if I'm not wearing them. If I do snap it (whilst not wearing them) you have to fold the zipper over itself to get it closed. I'm not sure what they were thinking? Definitely a defect. But since I will never show in them, it's not a thing. I just leave them open. Also one of the zippers is wonky, and will break at some point. But for now, they're fine. And again, I paid so little for them, it's not really a thing if I have to replace the zippers at some point. They're super fun looking anyway!

And that's it for this holiday! Any favorites? Have you had Pioneer boots? What did you think of them?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! We're back to blue again this week. I know. Kinda boring. But it's super warm, so at least it's a less bulky outfit. Here's what I wore:

See that? A thin sweater! It was 55 today and it was AMAZING. It's short lived, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Helmet: One K CCS Mips
I should really wipe down this helmet! I had no idea it was so dusty!

Sweater: Ariat
I love these merino blend sweaters that Ariat makes. They look so classy with breeches, and you can throw them in the washer!

Belt: Brighton
I found this belt second hand a few years back to match my navy boots. It was a wee bit too small for awhile, so I found this longer buckle for it. It fits great now though, and I've been wearing it a ton.

Breeches: Dover Wellesley
I like these breeches for in between weather. They're too thick for summer, but are perfect spring and fall. And the occasional fake spring day in February.

Boots: Tredstep
I figured it was time for a new photo... They're not doing well... I just need them to survive a few more weeks! The good news, is that I'm actually using my left leg when I ride now. It's evidenced by the hole that's opened up on that boot! Doh.

Eros is our equine model today. Here's what he wore:

Bridle: Camelot RCS Gold
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

Peep that lil' tongue sticking out

I'm about ready to see this adorable face in some of my tack that's at home... Warm days like this make me itchy to get back home with these guys!

Boots: Premier Equine
The fuzzy boots were getting pretty gross, so they're home for a washing. The non fuzzy ones are still pretty cute on him though!

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Mattes
I really like the PEI pads, but I LOVE the Mattes pads. They just seem to fit every saddle well and the quality is tops. They wash nicely too.

And that's it for today! Any favorites? Are you getting to have some fake spring days? Or is it still wintering hard where you are?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit day again! This week is a little... uninspired. It happens! It's cold out. The horses wore the same outfits this week as last, so nothing to share there. But here's what I wore yesterday:

Pink! See? It's not navy nor green! I can switch things up!

Helmet: One K MIPS
Okay, well the helmet has green on it. I only have the two options over there!

Sweater: I'm the worst, I forget the brand on this
Base layer: Akina
I'm making an effort to wear things other than hoodies on occasion. Now that winter is really doing it's thing with the temps around here, I've been wearing wool for a base layer more often. Highly recommend.

Belt: Mane Jane
I went with the light gray strap to match the stripes on the sweater (and my mask).

Breeches: Dover
Yep, I'm still sporting the corduroy trend over here. Even if it was a trend of years past... Ha.

Boots: Tredstep
It was 26 degrees when I rode Pammon this morning and my feet did not get cold. These boots are the best thing to ever happen to winter.

And that's it. Short and sweet today! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads

The horses don't have outfits to share today. JUST as I was about to bridle Eros, this happened:

Not long after that video it started pouring. So yeah... They got the evening off. But here's what I planned to wear riding last night:

It's hoodie season friends.

Helmet: One K Glamour
I really like this helmet. It fits great, and the color is really fun. I still kinda want the rose gold version.

Sweatshirt: Deco Pony
It's hard to read here, but it says "Stall Rest Sympathizer". These came out during quarantine and I had to have one. I mean... between quarantine and the fact that I seem to always have at least one animal on stall rest, it was a must have for sure.

Belt: Mane Jane
Lighting was off here, but this is the dark gray strap with the rose gold buckle.

Breeches: Dover Wellesley
This past weekend I weeded out my breeches collection. (Keep an eye on Facebook as hopefully next weekend I'll have some breeches for sale.) I opted to get rid of most of my pipers and keep all of the Dover breeches. I just prefer them so much more, even if the pipers have more color options.

Boots: Celeris UK
This pair was my second from Celeris. They don't match as much as the black and rose gold so they don't get as much wear time, but I do really love them! They're fun without being too crazy, and as always, super comfortable.

Arm Party!
Lefty:
Lefty wore this second hand Hermes bracelet along with my trusty apple watch.

Righty:
Righty donned the Fitbit in a band that was almost exactly the same shade as my hoodie and another second hand Hermes bracelet which wasn't quite the same shade... but pretty close!

And that's all I have for today. Any favorites?
