Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day!!! Another cloudy day so I went with earthy tones to add to the gloom. Ha. Al is our model this week, and he would like to apologize in advance that his mom put the wrong bridle on. She's just the worst. Anyway, here's what we wore today:

Look at that handsome chonk! I think Al's put on a few pounds with these couple of light weeks. Starting to look more like a hunter derby horse than a jumper... He sees doc tomorrow so hopefully we'll be back on track soon.

Bridle: Joseph Sterling
Browband: Dark Jewel Designs

I had planned to use the rose gold clincher bridle, but I forgot and just grabbed our everyday one. My bad.

Saddle: Butet
Baby Pad: Ogilvy
Half Pad: Mattes

The lighting was funny in this photo. The pad is a lovely shade of tan, but it looks very yellow here. The trim is chocolate brown.

Boots: Imperial Riding
Okay. So I was very excited to find a lovely shade of tan boots for everyone. Unfortunately, when they arrived, they are SO BIG! I got two pairs of cob for the boys and a pair of pony for Shiny. Well. The pony size fits Eros perfectly. This is the cob on on Al, and while the boot itself isn't horribly big, the velcro is way too long. I'll probably end up selling all of then and finding something else. If anyone has a huge horse and is interested, hit me up!

That's what Al was wearing, and here's what I had on:

I actually thought this shirt was dark green when I put it on this morning. Turns out it's teal, so it really didn't match my saddle pad set up.... But it does look nice with the brown breeches at least.

Helmet: IRH

Okay don't laugh. I have resisted wearing this helmet again because the first time I wore it was when Al spooked me off last fall. I was feeling very superstitious about it! But I finally pulled it out today, and all the horses were wonderful so the helmet is no longer jinxed.

Top: Mathcat

I looked in my purchases to find the brand on this, and even though it's definitely a blue leaning teal... it was labeled as dark green. So my error this morning is warranted!

Belt: Homemade by Me

I made this one I think last year? The year before? Who can remember. The years all blend together at this point. The buckle is Mane Jane.

Breeches: Dover
These haven't aged all that well. Structurally they're fine, but they have some weird fading happening. Still comfy though! And yes, I embellished the belt looks to match the belt. Obviously!

Boots: Dover
These are actually a little too big, but not terrible. They're very comfy. My only complaint about them, is the stretchy panel. That stretchy panel is like a faux stretchy leather rather than elastic. Which looks really nice! Except that it's already peeling. And I can probably count on one hand how many times I've worn them. So that's a little disappointing.

And that's it for today! Anything favorites? Have you tried the Imperial Riding horse boots? Did they fit? I'm wondering if these were an anomaly or if they always run huge.

Thursday's Threads

Outfit DAY! I'm still having lots of fun with outfits over here... There's plenty of ridiculous in process too. I'm so weird. But I enjoy my weirdness so here we are. Anyway, here's what we wore this week:

My childhood self would be so proud! Though my childhood self would never have dreamed of lavender boots.

Bridles: Winner Special

I decided to match to the rose gold on the boots with the bridles today. I was torn between these bridles and the unicorn ones to match the purple, but since these were out in the tack room already I opted for the rose gold. Plus they both look so cute in them!

Boots: Horze

These are inexpensive fun boots from Horze aka Equinavia. Nothing overly special about them, but they match my boots almost perfectly!

Saddles:
Eros- Butet, Shiny- Custom Saddlery
Saddle Pads:
Eros- Equestri Lifestyle baby pad, Ippico half pad, Shiny- Lettia

I'm pretty sure Equestri Lifestyle is now defunct, but I love this tie dye baby pad from them! Mint and lavender is one of my favorite combos. I rode Shiny with no half pad and while my saddle felt very secure on her back that way, she seemed pretty annoyed with me for this ride. So I'm not sure if it was the change in pads or if she was just in a mood that day. Hard to tell with her! But I'll probably go back to our lined pads for most rides.

That's what the kids wore, and here's what I had on:

So much pastel in one photo. SO MUCH.

Helmet: IRH
I don't love my pastel helmet anymore, so I decided to wear this one with the rose gold instead. I have to tell you, for an inexpensive helmet, this is probably the best fitting one that I own.

Shirt: Sport Horse Lifestyle
I've had this shirt for years but just recently rediscovered it. I love this color, and it's a perfect match with the mint in Eros' saddle pad!

Belt: C4
You have NO idea how many different shades of lavender exist in this world. I only know because none of my belts actually match these breeches nor the boots. So I went with the rose belt, because that seemed like a good compromise. I think it works!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
So in my house I thought these Berry breeches would match the boots. I was incorrect. In retrospect I think my lavender RJ's will match better, but they were in the laundry and not an option this time. I do like these breeches with the top though!

Boots: Celeris UK
Soooo... I said I wasn't going to ride in these anymore because they seem to bleed on my saddle. But I also have been frustrated with all of my too big boots and these actually fit me. So I rode in them. And they bled on my saddle. But not as badly as before. So maybe we're getting to the end of that? Hopefully? I gave the insides a good scrubbing after and didn't see much on the sponge. So I'm hopeful they'll stop doing that. It did clean right off the saddles anyway. These fit so perfectly though! Fortunately, my new show boots are the same measurements, so they are also pretty perfect.

Crop:
I used my glitter crown crop for both horses. I had regrets though as Shiny has a lot more respect for the dressage whip. But this thing is so cute!

And that's what we wore this week! Any favorites?

Thursday's Threads: Not Navy Edition!

Outfit Day AT HOME! Finally! I'm so excited to share this outfit with you. I've been working on it for awhile now. So let's get right to it! Here's what I wore:

Brown and Rose Gold! Finally! I did a black and rose gold outfit awhile back, but wasn't in love with the tack I had. And then I stumbled across some brown and rose gold things... and well... Here we are.

Helmet: IRH

I couldn't find myself a MIPS helmet that was brown and rose gold that wasn't custom or a gazillion dollars, so this one is not MIPS. It fits REALLY well though so it should still do a decent job of keeping my head safe. Not the best photo to show the rose gold trim, but you can get the idea.

Tee Shirt: Ariat
It's not EXACTLY rose gold, but close enough.

Belt: Amazon
Buckle: Mane Jane
I finally got this belt finished! It took FOREVER for the rest of the studs to arrive after I didn't order enough the first time around. But eventually they got here and I finished it. I like how it came out, and LOVE that the Mane Jane buckle fits with it.

Breeches: Dover Wellesley 9000
I have these in a few colors and really like them! For some reason, this pair fits a little big, but I'm sure the dryer will fix that for me. To make them a little more perfect for my rose gold outfit, I added some rose gold pyramid studs to all of the belt loops. I thought about lining the pockets too, but decided not to. I can always do it later if I change my mind.

Boots: Dover Riding Sport
I have a few pairs of brown boots at this point, but I wasn't sure if what I had planned to do to these was going to work and I didn't want to ruin any of the others. So I got these cheapo boots to deface with less risk. I added the little rose gold detail to the swagger tab and then I got rose gold eyelets for the shoe lace holes.
I think they came out cute! And the boots are pretty comfy too. I rode in them for the first time yesterday, and though a little slippery they didn't leave any wounds on me!

That's what I wore, and here's what the horses had on:

Bridle: Winner Special

Okay, so it's probably obvious, but this is the piece of tack that started the brown and rose gold spiral. I found these bridles on an Italian website and at the time they were only $105 US (plus shipping). I have to tell you, cheap Italian leather is SOOOO nice compared to all other cheap leather. Like, SO NICE. It's really soft right out out of the bag and even better with a little oil. There are a couple things I don't love about the bridles. One is that it comes with a flash and the little loop doesn't come off. I could cut them off, but I think I'll probably just leave them. They aren't show bridles. The other thing I don't love is the buckles at the bit side of the cheeks and on the reins. I prefer the hooks generally. But the rose gold is so fun, I can totally deal with these. Here's a link to the bridles if you're interested. https://www.selleriagianetti.com/prodotto/testiera-clincher-oro-rosa/ This tack shop has all kinds of fun things I haven't seen elsewhere. I got a saddle carrier that's a backpack for if/when I fly with a saddle again. And I also found dark green terry cloth sheets for the horses. Shipping is a little expensive, but the stuff arrives in two or three days which is totally worth paying for.

Boots: Horze

I added some rose gold details to the velcro flaps on these. So they fit the theme without being too much.

Eros:
Saddle- Butet
Baby Pad-Lettia
Half Pad- Premier Equine
Shiny:
Saddle: Custom Saddlery
Pad: Premier Equine

For Eros, I took a plain Lettia baby pad and added pyramid studs to the edge. I love how it came out! Not enough to make two of them... I had to add each of those studs by hand! Took forever. Worth it! But like, not enough to make more.
Shiny's pad is one of the newer Premier Equine pads. This one has little silicone grips under the saddle to keep it from sliding around up there which is a nice feature when you ride a wine barrel.

And that's it for this week! Wasn't it fun to have new stuff on here? Do you like brown with rose gold?
