Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! I forgot... many of today's photos, but nothing is new so I think I may be able to pull from the archives for those. Let's give it a shot! Eros modeled for us today, and here's what he had on:

Photo from yesterday when he was working on his fitness inside. We actually got to ride outside today. In the fog. Couldn't see a thing!

Bridle: Pinnacle
Brow Band: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks

I think when we move him for the summer I need to give these bridles a good oiling. They are aging so nicely, and getting so soft! But I can tell they would like me to take care of them at least a little bit. Which is fair. For an inexpensive bridle I definitely recommend these.

Saddle: Butet
Half Pad: Mattes
Saddle Pad: Catago
I had to dig deep into the archives for this one! I think that's Al's saddle in this photo, but of course I'm using Eros' now. We rode in the Catago version of the Equiband system, but we did have the back strap on for part of the ride also. I honestly am really impressed with how much using the bands helps Eros use himself better. Not only while it's on, but he really retains that feel when they come off. And he feels SO GOOD when he's using his hind properly and lifting his back. There's so much power still in this horse.

Wraps: Eskadron
I like these wraps for winter, but I do prefer the polo wraps version for the warmer months. I'd like to get a black pair one of these days.

So that's what Eros was wearing this week, and here's what I had on:
Still doing the whole green, tan, brown thing. One of these days we'll mix it up again.

Helmet: One K CCS MIPS
Glad I snapped this photo last week... Haha! You've seen this helmet a LOT lately.

Sweater: Liny Xin
I have a bunch of these sweaters that come from Amazon. They're merino, so nice and cozy warm, yet still can be machine washed. (No dryer though!) They hold up pretty well, and I love them for the barn because they're inexpensive.

Belt: The Sugar Lady (Etsy)
This is Rio's belt, the fancy stitch part is made from his tail hair. I LOVE this belt so much. The Sugar Lady did a beautiful job with it, and she let me help design it. I love the PonyLocks belts (that's where Jamp's is from) but I wanted something different for Rio's tail hair. Mostly because he and Jamp both had black tails so a second belt like that seemed redundant. But also, Rio was extra special and I wanted a more unique design for him. This definitely fits the bill!

Breeches: RJ Classics
My room is a terrible place to photograph breeches in the morning. These are hunter green. You've seen them a lot, I know. My green TS breeches are size 26, and I'm solidly a 28 at the moment... so these are the ones I reach for most often.

Boots: Horka
These seem to be my go to boots for spring weather. I don't worry too much about them getting wet or dirty since they are meant to look wet and dirty.

And that's it for today! Sorry about the archive photos, but hey, better than nothing!

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! It's been so hot around here this week that I thought breathable and perforated should be the theme today. Eros wanted to be the model so we'll start with his outfit.

Here's what he had on today:

Okay, I know he's still sporting the dad bod, but he is slightly trimmer and definitely sporting more muscle. Still could work on that core though....

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O'Boy Bridleworks
It makes me really sad that Blogger doesn't respect photos. This shot looks so clear and bright on my phone. Yet dark and meh on this platform. Anyway, I am really happy with these bridles, especially for the price point.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: Anatomeq
Half Pad: Mattes
I really love the Anatomeq Perfeq junmper pads. They're expensive, but they really do a nice job of being breathable and they stay in place nicely without needing attachment pieces. I would love to add some more to our rotation one of these days.

Polo Wraps: Alessandro Albanese
Ugh, again with the photo quality, but this time it matters because you can't see that these are mesh. They aren't as breathable as I would have expected because despite the outer layer being mesh, the inside is actually fleece. It's really thin, so I still like them a lot, just wish it was a different material on the inner layer.

That's what E had on today, and here's what I was wearing:
Yep, back in my colors. I can't help it, most of my stuff falls into this color scheme.

Helmet: One K
This one could benefit from a cleaning... Ha. I like these helmets a lot, but I do feel like the liners lose their fit after awhile. Or maybe after being ridiculously sweaty on the regular. Regardless, this liner is feeling a little loose these days. Not a big deal to replace it, but kind of annoying.

Shirt: Annva
This is a really comfortable shirt from Amazon that's pretty similar to other brand I like to wear. I honestly don't know why people spend so much money on Lulu Lemon or even TKEQ when Amazon has the same shirts for so much less.

Belt: Unbranded
Nameplates: Halter Tags
I had ordered these nameplates intending to make bracelets with them, but when they arrived, they were much larger than I realized and also really good quality. So good in fact that I couldn't get them to bend to be bracelet functional. So I stuck them on this belt instead. I'm happy with the change in plan!

Breeches: Tailored Sportsman
This is the color Canyon. I spent a lot of time hunting for a used or consignment pair of these and eventually they popped up on my Facebook feed. I was extra thrilled when they were side zip. Probably my current favorite pair of breeches.

Boots: Cavallo Weatherproof Linus
These are the waterproof boots from Cavallo. They're like a nubuck leather. They look brown in this photo but have a slightly more green tint in real life. The color is olive, but I do think they lean more brown than green. I like them though, they've broken in nicely and are very comfortable.

That's it for today! Any favorites? Anything colors or themes you want to see soon?

Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! After dressing up in multiple ridiculous outfits all last week, I had to tone it down this time. A pallet cleanse if you will... Eros modeled for us today, so let's start with what he wore.

I dunno guys, I think his dad bod is starting to look slightly more fit. The belly isn't hanging QUITE as low. He's handsome either way though.

Bridle: Pinnacle
Browband: Boy O' Boy Bridleworks

Let's chat about these Pinnacle bridles shall we? I was always kind of meh about them. I have one that's a different model and thought it was fine, but nothing special. But these wide noseband ones? The longer I use them, the more I am liking them. For the price, they are REALLY nice. They are currently $89 and come with reins. If you're looking for a schooling bridle on a budget, definitely go grab one. I just recently discovered that this brand is also available in two different bitless bridle models. I'm seriously considering selling my La Cense side pulls and getting the Pinnacle one instead.

Boots: Anky
I know, I've shared these a lot lately, but they are currently my favorite boots. They're on sale all over the place this weekend, so if you're in the market for a brushing boot, grab a pair! They come in black, green, navy, and burgundy. And possibly white, but I'm not positive on that.

Saddle: Butet
Saddle Pad: The Hangry Mare
Half Pad: Mattes
I LOVE these pads from the Hangry Mare. I'm not sure if she's still making them though. I haven't used them in awhile because I had tucked them away and kind of forgot about them. But they're back in the rotation officially.

That's E was wearing, and here's what I had on today:

It's starting to feel like fall (so sad) and my barn colors are very appropriate for that coming season. Maybe I should dress for the season I want not the season I'm getting?

Helmet: One K
I have the new tan colored front shield and rails installed with the green top today. I really do enjoy being able to swap parts around to match my outfits on these helmets!

Shirt: TKEQ
The majority of my seamless shirts come from Amazon, but I couldn't find this nice chocolate brown color on there, so I splurged on this one. Honestly, it's the same shirt as the Amazon version though.

Belt: Ponylocks
I wore Jampy's belt today. Nice to have him with me for the day. Ponylocks really does an amazing job with these.

Breeches: RJ Classics Gulf
These are a little tough to photograph properly. The color is called June bug and I expected them to look as they appear in this photo right above. But the actual color is more similar to my full outfit photo further up the page. I like both shades so no worries there! But was surprised when I saw them in person that they were more like hunter green than I expected.

Boots: Mountain Horse Sovereign Luxe
I'm debating making these my go to boots for most days. The black ones with the rhinestones really need to visit the boot doctor. I try to save my really fun boots for once a weekish so that they will last. My everyday, go to boots tend to die a pretty fast death lately, so I don't want to destroy something fancy so quickly. I think these may be the next tribute.

So that's it for today! Anything in particular you liked this week? Have you tried the Pinnacle bridles from Schneider's? Thoughts on those?
