Heh... Today's confession is that I completely forgot it was Tuesday and nearly forgot to write this post! I switched the horses' day off to Tuesday this week because of weather, so I'm all out of sorts. Monday on a Tuesday is weird.
But that's not the only confession today. Shiny has one too.
Ugh. Shiny here. Mom is making me confess my sins, but honestly, it was her fault. I'll tell you what happened, but I'm NOT taking responsibility.
So Sunday was a rain day. Which at first seemed like YES! NO WORK TODAY!!! But then, after mom was all done with chores, she took me out. Ugh. Like what is does she want? And then I saw it. The pulling comb. WORST. DAY. EVER. I really despise having my mane pulled. But mom says it's waaaaayyy too thick to not pull it. I say she should mind her business and just let my hair be thick and luxurious. Ya know? Just because mom's hair isn't thick doesn't mean mine can't be.
So mom says after every three pulls I can have a snack. And I say I should get one every pull. Whatever. I put up with her rule for awhile. But it was like taking forever and SO MANY PULLS, so finally I just stood up on my back legs and pulled and pulled until the crossties broke. I thought mom would be too scared to keep going because I was so dangerous and crazy. But she just laughed at me, told me to stop being ridiculous, and fixed the crossties. AND THEN SHE PULLED SOME MORE! Can you believe it? The horror. And she says it's still not done and we have to do it again another day. So yeah. That's what happened. As you can see, it's not my fault, and I'm not confessing to anything.

Hey Shiney, Quaid here. What do you mean she pulls your mane?! How horrible. Mine is all thick and long so mom had to braid it when she rides. Sometimes (we’ll all the time) it’ gets all tangled with fairy knots and she has to work hard to get them out. Carmen’s mane is long too but way thinner so it doesn’t tangle so much.
ReplyDeleteTell your mom that you are an Iberian pony and so you have to have a long mane.
That is a good idea. Maybe I should tell her that. I DO have a thick neck, so I COULD be Iberian.
DeleteHey Shiny, Missy here. Just chiming in to suggest you train your mom to roach your mane, like I've done with my human servant. Rubbing portions out and staining the rest poo green really seals the deal. Good luck! -xoxo, Missy
ReplyDeleteOh I could never! I love my beautiful hair! Plus it's nice to supply a handle for my summer kid when she picks the long distance...
DeleteBrooks here - I HATE it when my person pulls my mane, it's the worst. I just thrash around running her over and trying to break the cross ties when she does it (although i did hear a rumor about one of the mares rearing up and landing on one of the peoples feet when they tried to pull her mane)
ReplyDeleteOh! Last time mom pulled my mane, I used her foot to push off into the rear. She seemed mad about that. I'm usually pretty careful not to hurt her. I just want to be intimidating, ya know?
DeleteLolz doozy has only just recently decided to be ok with trimming her bridle path with scissors… tho she still only allows *one snip* so it better be a good one! Pulling the mane is absolutely not allowed under any circumstances as far as she’s concerned…. Tho luckily we manage to get a decent enough effect with the solo comb
ReplyDeleteDoozy is a smart woman. I also don't like the sound of the scissors by my ears, but I do allow a bridle path snipping. Not such a fan of the clippers by my ears though. That also seems to cause me to rear.
