Thursday's Threads

Outfit Day! It's a dreary rainy day here. We haven't really seen the sun in awhile. I miss it terribly. My outfit today kind of reflects the atmosphere...

Black and gray. Like the weather. But hey, at least it's not snowing!

Sweater: Kokun
This sweater is a bamboo/cashmere blend and is sooooo soft! It's plain jane in the front, but the back is really cute. It criss-crosses and has an insert behind it so you're fully covered and safe for work. It's a sweater mullet.... Business in the front, party in the back.

Jeans: First Kiss
I've had these a long while. And truthfully, they don't fit me right now. But I stuffed myself in because I was running late and didn't realize the fit issue until I did the denim dance getting in. I blame the girl scouts and their damn cookies.

Shoes: Tommy Hilfiger
Whilst running errands over the weekend I was called to the mecca. And by that I mean DSW Shoe Warehouse. I found these fun little tennis shoes for 75% off making them $11. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo, but they're entirely made of rubber (excluding the zippers obviously). Perfect for a rainy day like today!

Belt: Burberry
I just wanted a solid belt to match the drab color scheme. That awesome knight on the buckle makes it a little more exciting though.

Arm party!
Lefty:
Lefty kept it pretty simple. First up is one of my most favorite bangles that my sister-in-law gave me for Chanukah a couple years ago and second is my trusty apple watch.

Righty:
Righty is wearing this gorgeous macrame and brass bracelet that I got from Nicole's Creations for March. (I'm really behind reviewing this amazing sub, but look for a catch up review of several months over on Beeju Boxes soon!) That teeny tiny gold bangle says "Hakuna Matada". It means no worries in case you've never seen Lion King (but seriously, has anyone NOT seen it?!) And lastly is a pretty Kate Spade bow bracelet that my mom gave me.
That's what I'm wearing today! But I also have a riding outfit from last night to share:
Since it was cold, damp, and cloudy, I kept it casual last night. Also, you might notice that I'm mostly wearing my old comfy boots lately. I'm waiting until my horses are somewhat less likely to try and kill me before I break in boots!

Helmet: Charles Owen AYR8
Definitely my favorite of all my helmets. While it's not as cool and comfy as my show helmet (Samshield) this one is GREEN! And that clearly makes it the winner.

Top: Ariat
I picked up this Ariat quarter zip when my favorite local tack store Reins was having their winter clearance. It's weight is somewhere in between a sweatshirt and a long sleeve t-shirt. I'm a huge fan! They do run a little small though, definitely size up if you get one. I normally am a small in ariat clothes, but I got this in a medium.

Breeches: Romfh
These have a baroque print on them, but they've faded a bunch so it's tough to see in the photo. The fabric on these is heavier than something like a tailored sportsman breech, but I like that for spring, winter, and fall when it's not warm out.

Boots: Tuffrider Regals
Spurs: Unbranded
Straps: Stacie Originals
You all know how much I love these boots. Durable? Nope. High quality? Nopity nope. Comfy? OMG YES! I will always have a new pair waiting in the shadows in case these die. Always. The spurs are from ebay, I found them awhile back and then made spur straps to match them because why not? I used the glue on buckles, so I'm curious to see how long they stay attached. So far so good though!

Crop: Big D's
I kind of laughed out loud when I realized I had a crop that was the same colors as my shirt. Not shocking I know.

I was planning to have a running outfit today too, but I was lazy and didn't get up in time. Maybe next week!
How's the weather where you are? What are you wearing today? Any favorites from above?

  1. What cute outfits! You have always had great style. I really love those bracelets and bangles! You can see that they are very well-made. I may have to look into getting one of those brass bracelets for Annie. She would love the look of it. I think she would wear it all the time! Thank you for sharing this!
